Built by rich merchants as a lavish displays of their wealth, the mansions are now abandoned. But the paintings were so exquisite that they've become a tourist attraction.

Jodhpur is called
Blue city,
Udaipur is called
White city &
Jaisalmer is called Golden city.

Asha Leo did you visit the podar haveli museum in Nawalgarh..
Its disheartning to see most of em are in pathetic condition having been negeltected for years no proper maintains most of em hv been taken down for commercial complexes nd shopping centres however some hope is there as government has declared shekawati region as heritage site but implementation nd execution is yet to b seen having said tht we the people of shekawati love our tradition s and legacy nd heritage so much nd hold it very dear to our heart hopefully someday together we will b able to bring out changes travellers and scholars and vlovgers like yourself from around the world could play a vital role I hv seen huge caravan s nd buses carrying international tourist coming here since my childhood but over the years it has drop down significantly .. These painting s are fascinating to me no wonders needless to say it's baffles tourist and leave em speechless but thts not it I m also kind of scared of too much commercialisation of these open art ... thanks for putting up there on you tube from tourist perspective..

But some (although still much too few) are being restored, fortunately...

U R half Indian or U just have a Indian name, like your mom is from India + if u want 2 enjoy your summer vacation with your family & friends, I think U should visit Goa so many beaches, parties, many foreigners visit Goa every year from April 2 June, especially from South Africa(Cape Town), America(L.A.), Russia(Moscow), Brazil(Rio) & England(London) it's completely fan-tastic & fun-tastic. & nice video; even in rajasthan many palaces turn in2 hotels, most famous is Rah Mahal hotel & some palaces now belongs 2 the old kings & there great grandson's who descended from there father who were the King's in 11th century or 12th century I guess actually I'm half history ♥er & half language ♥er learning French optional subject 4 me.
