Honesty also "peels" the layers off your soul and that's how it is liberated and how a poet is created.

I love this! Bono's mind is a wonderful thing and I love his raw, honest art. He and U2 have shaped a lot of worship music today "Musically" speaking... one can hope lyrically he will inspire author's of today's modern hymns as well.

Mullins engages in inspiring homiletics between songs during live performances. TH-cam includes many examples. Mullins and Heard equally honest in their lyrics, similar to Bono. Both tragically died untimely deaths

When you think of it, really there are four fundamental questions of life. You've asked them, I've asked them, every thinking person asks them. They boil down to this; origin, meaning, morality and destiny. 'How did I come into being? What brings life meaning? How do I know right from wrong? Where am I headed after I die?'
    Ravi Zacharias
I sure could use a mikvah Ravi. I hope dude likes Gahanna.

I agree about being honest with God, but I disagree with him saying we don’t have to please God in any other way. Jesus is clear that we please God by having faith in Him. We please Him by trying to follow His commandments to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We please Him be loving others as we love ourselves. We please Him by submitting to Him. We do not come to the Father by any righteousness of our own, but through Jesus Christ. But, yes, God appreciates honesty. However, He is omniscient (knows all) and doesn’t need our honesty to know us. Our dishonesty towards God is no more or less than any other sin.

I agree with what you're saying, but I also feel that if you are brutally honest with God and yourself, then you're going to have the other covered. You don't recognize your sin and need for forgiveness/salvation if you aren't honest. I feel this was more the point than meaning 'be honest is the only one thing you have to do'.
