Tube. Tube parameters. Duplicate Tube. Duplicate Tube Parameters (smaller radius and wall thickness). Box Hole. Box Hole parameters. Align Box hole to bottom centre of Tube. Duplicate Box Hole. Nudge Duplicate Box Hole Y+1, group to Duplicate Tube, duplicate again and make last duplicate a hole. Group Tube and Box Hole and group this to previous hole shape. Job done.
No exporting and reimporting, no arbitrary resizing by eye and no artfully carving away artefacts with holes.

I'll have to give that a try, if only to see if I can follow your instructions, Danko. :) One aspect of svg is the usefulness of a 2D draw program (Illustrator, for instance...there are some good free ones out there for Windows) to create quite complex shapes (relatively easily) that you can then export as svg and manipulate in Tinkercad (or Fusion 360). You are a true engineer and artist, Danko (as many are from looking at the amazing Tinkercad galleries). But even with years of practice in the 2D print world, I find doing basic drawing with these 3D apps to be challenging (lack of snapping to guidelines, for instance). Arches of various types and orientations would be a quick breeze in a 2d program.
Yeah @Brad Nelson, the SVG trick is great and useful for complex shapes.
