      Jeremy I have a question, would you consider the Yamaha KX-8
      Usb midi Keyboard Weighted 88 key in this best 88 key for under $300 ??

    • @Matt-zp1jn
      @Matt-zp1jn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may have a chance to get a used Yamaha (but in good condition) KX-8 usb midi keyboard weighted 88 key for $225-250. I would use it to learn piano, and also to play midi samples, tones, beats, off it with computer and/or midi synth hardware etc.
      Do you think this keyboard would rank highly in your 88 Key midi keyboard for under $300 category even tho it is used?
      Thanks, appreciate your channel and wisdom! 😊👍

    Another great thing to remember about this piano versus Roland Go 88 - not only is it 1kg lighter, but it also takes AA batteries as opposed to D cells. 6 D cell batteries will weigh 1kg or over, whereas six AA batteries are considerably lighter. So the weight different between the Korg Liano and Roland Go 88 closer to 2kg if you are using batteries.

    The best keyboard for solo piano gigs. I have a weighted one but ever since I bought this, I never take the weighted one out. This keyboard is almost always in my car. It’s light enough to put on your back with a case. Makes gigging so much more pleasant. For band gigs, I use 61 keys.

    I agree with your assessment about keyboards with hundreds of sounds most people will never use. It's a marketing tool for manufacturers to make people want to buy theirs, and costs them little to nothing to add the sounds. Also great point about not having built in Bluetooth, as almost every device today is Bluetooth capable. It seems a blend of Casio, Korg, and Yamaha features would make an ideal product, that we will probably never see at an affordable price. This sure seems to be a compelling product. I just wish their software would work with 10" Kindle Fire HD tablets. Having to purchase an iPad to work with the software doubles the price.

    • @jjacob25101
      @jjacob25101 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Agreed. But the iPad Mini 6 256G would be a great thing to have for music and many other things. Many tech reviewers say it is the best all around iPad, as the size makes it easy to handle, but a screen big enough to be easy to view and use. Some traded in their iPad Pros and are happy, but most already have a MacBook Pro, too. So especially for home studio use, this is great for the price and would fit what I need to have a nice 88 key instrument at home with my 2 61 note keyboards, the Roland Go:Keys and Casiotone CT-S1, my Roland JD-Xi synth/vocorder and my Yamaha PSS-A50.
      When I get a Pro level keyboard, I will use it at church, and also a steal for $1200. The Roland RD 88 that has everything wanted in a professional level stage piano and has 3000 voices, and many things other digital pianos does not have.
      The bottom line is there something for everyone at different budgets. And this Korg Liano is definitely a gem.

    One more thing: Regarding the missing indicator light for the sound selector, that's an age-old problem with a lot of devices. My solution: Apply a small spot of white type correction fluid (remember those?) inside or next to the notch. Problem solved.

    I don't particularly like this new trend to put features in some app ( the new model from Yamaha pulls the same trick ). What if they decide to discontinue some model , which they eventually always do ? That would render the entire thing useless . From what I understand Yamaha is even removing features from older models to promote their new shiny toy + app .

    I noticed that you mentioned that the keyboard can use PA speakers, but wow, some of us can't rake up enough money for that. On My keyboard, it comes with 2 built in speakers at 20 watts each, and measuring 4 inch sub and tweeter, so I'm looking for a better external speakers for my keyboard, so I'm writing to ask your opinion on what I can get for no more than 200 bucks. And good enough for the Pipe Organ sounds and choirs. I want to know what size the speaker woofer needs to be or whether or not I need an amp? I prefer stereo studio or similar. Also, should I buy a subwoofer for the Pipes low sounds? Thanks for your time Jeremy, I try to watch a lot of your videos. Terry

    Always enjoy your videos and have used your advice to make my purchase decisions. I have picked up piano at the age of 75, had lessons as a kid and played a little as an adult until it became too ponderous to move a piano cross country. Been relearning since October 2023. I also have a Casio PX-S3100 and I enjoy it except that I practice with headphones and I can hear the ‘clunk’ of key action outside of the headphones and it’s irritating. I got the Casio CT-S1 for a portable solution for practice when I’m not at home. Reviews of the Korg Liano mention the quiet key action. How does the feel compare to the two Casios I have? I have PX-S3100 set to lightest key action. I find I need to adjust to the semi-weighted feel of the CT-S1, is the Liano similar in feel or is it a little more like the PX-S3100? I have also found that even though the hundreds of sounds and rhythms were attractive when I researched, I find that I generally only use concert grand, stage and jazz piano voices, and none of the rhythms. Since the Liano weighs right in between the two Casios, I’m considering going to one piano, the Liano. What are your thoughts?

    Thank you for the review Jeremy. I have a problem here. I cannot decide which is better: Yamaha PSR-E473 vs Casio CT-X800 vs Korg liano? Which one is better in your opinion? Price is very similar among them

    Hi ! Reviewing your videos I came down to 2 options this korg liano or the Alesis recital pro, I am guitar player that record on my home studio and want to learn keys to add them to my daw recordings
    Please give me you personal opinion on what would be better for me? I see the alesis has more modern features and more sounds , but the liano seems also a good option

    isn't it possible to connect the Liano with RCA cables to a Phillips CD recorder. I saw somewhere that the

    The thing I am concerned about is whether the black or white keys near the felt area is ok to press down easily. The Casio CT-S1, LK-S450, and even PX-S7000 do not pass this test. When playing Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement, my thumb and little finger are both on black keys, and I need to use the middle or ring finger to press another black key, so I am force to press it down near the felt area. On those 3 pianos above, it was very difficult.

      it is better than on some cheap keyboards, but still quite difficult to play on the keys in between black keys.. I actually hate this action it is like a heavy spring with rubber at the bottom.. and you can hear the rubber noisy every time you press the keys

      @@bowlvidya did you really write this about liano? usually they say that liano keys are very light and there is no feeling of a spring. What you are describing is similar to yamaha p125. Are there any keyboards that you liked?

    Thank you very much for this review, which came up inscrutably in my thread. I have been wondering whether I should get a piano or electronic keyboard. I would like a piano-like touch, but this might be just what I need. I would like to have a little music at my fingertips after decades without it. Again, thank you.

    Uff i highly disagree on BT.. the latency as well as the lower sound quality even leads to a significant higher price (license, electronics , planning, interference etc)

    I've ordered my first ever digital piano Roland FP-10 which will be my foray into weighted action keys, and also the only digital piano my music store in my vicinity had(btw music stores here in my area is very scarce) i found the sound really very dynamic with such depth. It's about to arrive in couple more weeks.
    How does this compare to FP-10?! If this was an option, would've gone for this.
