It is great to get a recent video of Popo. Thanks so much! I watched videos of her as a baby, then as a two-year-old. I am sorry to hear about Popo’s mother. She took great care of her child. I am glad the zoo keepers are interacting with this lovely and energetic juvenile orangutan.

I love orangutans, I started watching them before discovering Gorilla's. Indonesia set up a orangutan school, they are the funniest & smartest primates. So many orphan's start from a few weeks old & go through various stages of age & learn how to live in the forest as that is where they are released back in their own habitat. They are incredibly loving, affectionate & funny as heck. The staff do an excellent job in caring for them. I look forward to seeing more of Popo. Thank you Karin, I've been so obsessed with Gorilla's, I think it's time I went back to see what the orangutans are up to. If you can imagine a orangutan & a gibbon playing, it is hilarious.. Thanks again.🐒
Ah Sonja, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about orangutans. They are so new to me, but I am already so fascinated by the species. I instantly fell in love when I visited the zoo. One documentary I recently watched was so shocking. I just couldn't hold back my tears. I just couldn't understand how cruel humans can be to this beautiful creature. ポポちゃんはなぜママと暮らしていないのかな？ 柵越しにスーミーママから授乳していた頃もありました。
海野カモメさん、ご視聴ありがとうございます😊スーミーママは、今年の4月に亡くなって、ポポちゃんの独立は一足早くなってしまいました🥲でも飼育員さんたちが一緒懸命ポポの心の健康も気遣って日々接しているようです。スーミーさんが健在の頃は柵越しに授乳していたこともあったんですね。自立訓練がだいぶ進んでいたことも、ポポは大きな影響受けずに済んだのかもしれないですね。
