There were time when 6 of us playing as The Allied and the remaining 2 are Soviets... In early game we heard "Kirov Reporting!" for the first time, we clearly underestimated our only 2 Soviet enemies... and then the second time we've heard "Kirov Reporting!" we're begin to sweat our own hands, desperately building IFVs... at last, at the third time we've heard "Kirov Reporting!", 2 of my friend had left the game... (ಥ_ಥ)
One time my brother and I were playing in arctic circle, I built one of these asap and sneaked it through the very top of the map even though he built Aegis Cruisers to fend it off he didn't notice it get past them and I went straight towards his construction yard and factories lmao Good times.
Basically, this video tells "If you let Kirov in your base or get promoted, you probably deserve to die". Also, while "all Kirovs" strategy is efficient damage dealer, let's not forget 2 things: - it's an airship which means slow as hell; - Aegis cruiser.

And let's not forget, that newbies that are meating Kirov armada for the first time are NOT good in microcontrolling(or maybe I'm just narcisistyic about myself).

While you do have the insane IFV, but keep in mind that IFV is outclassed by Gatling unless its the final promotion. Just do a lot of anti-air, it works. Because micro manage is only for when you get the chance to do it, but if you are just gonna defend your base then spamming lots of anti-air works wonders. Till when you feel safe then you can move you IFV, or Gatling, or which ever one you are using to hijack these things off the sky when they are still on their way over, dealing with them much more effectively. The last thing you want to see is some random Kirov popping up super close to your base from a side you didn't expect it to come.
A bit of late but fyi the Tesla bomb animation if being hit closely to any vehicle at fast rate without killing the vehicle the vehicle will die regardless because it will flip over and instantly destroyed.
I remember back then in one of the axis campaigns, there's a scripted event where the allied will transport several of their armed vehicles near your base. Needless to say, I force attacked the ground where they transport their vehicles with 3 Kirov. Free promotion and I get to hear those sweet sounds of the dying allied crew.
Damn I knew the Kirov was powerful but I never actually thought of it being able to take out a construction yard in one direct hit but then that was usually down to their tendency to drop bombs as they approached the building.
you're close, but not exactly. Kirovs deal Explosive-type damage which is good for Infantry, Light Armor, Structures. Base Defense take significantly less damage because of the armor typing, otherwise other explosive-damage type units like the Mirage Tank and initiates will just rape base defenses. Tanks have a decent resistance to it. And Navy has a major resistance.
@@dracmeister Actually Alex is correct. In CnC many attacks use a parameter called CellSpread to determine damage splashed to game squares around the weapon impact. Since a large building (Conyard, Nuclear plant) take up more squares, this means it takes damage from multiple squares while one-square base defenses like Sentry Gun can only ever take one square's worth of damage per bomb.
@@dracmeister kirov's projectile is designed for siege and anti cluster infantry, its weapon is strong against No Armor/Flak Armor/Plate Armor infantry and Wood/Concrete Armor of Structures. Despite those its damage is slightly reduced vs light and medium armored vehicles and greatly reduced vs heavy armored vehicles and steel armor structures.
If you go to tibed you can see the damage distribution for it I think they are 150%/100%/100%/80%/60%/40%/100%/100%/60%, the first three are for infantry from No armor/Flak armor/Plate armor then vehicles from Light/Medium/Heavy armor and from structures from Wood/Concrete/Steel armor. Note: it can be edited too.😏
You can use Alt key to make unit force to stay on specidic location especially air unit to stay right on top of ground unit or building so that Kirov can drop the bomb right top of the units or buildings for more accurate experiment

you could have tested the bombing buildings directly part by using iron curtain and/or force shield to make buildings invulnerable so that the kirov positions itself perfectly on the middle instead of trying to get it to fly over the middle and bombing then
Can someone explain to me what does the electric effect do for veteran Kirovs? I mean if it was for infantry, they will die by the explosion anyways and not by the electric shock

Question: How good would a couple kirovs work as a supplement to a larger attack (not accounting for them slowing down your armys movement) by being used to push ahead of the main fight to decimate some of the outer defneses and powerplants/barracks to steenghtan your main attack, and as a distraction for v3& dreadnaught missiles?
Best defence against Kirovs Allied: Aegis Cruiser(if the map has water), bunch of IFVs(5-10), and a Battle Fortress full of guardian G.I.s Soviet: bunch of flak trucks(8-12), bunch of Apocalypse tanks(5) Yuri: bunch of gattling tanks(8-12), bunch of gattling tanks on tank bunkers(5-8), bunch of Floating Discs(7-10)
It is the same button as with the tanks. Problem is Kirov has no range so it will only attack when it's above units or defensive structures. It will not target other structures on its own.

Most opinions I see say this thing is too slow to worth using, despite it's power. I find it rather telling that mods Yuri's Revenge often need to give the Soviets a number of buffs in addition to nerfing Yuri's army.

Can Kirov land using hotkey or is it something else? Cause if it's the case, it would make it repairable for Kirov (if I have Engineer IFV)

To this day I'm disappointed there is no Attack-Move order for the Kirov to keep throwing bombs as it's moving towards its destination.
It is the same button as with the tanks. Problem is Kirov has no range so it will only attack when it's above units or defensive structures. It will not target other structures on its own.
