Thanks to this video we finally booked our stay at Wilde. Thank you for recommending! I will now binge the rest of your videos I haven't watched yet. I've been to Edinburgh many times but I have the feeling that there has been quite a lot of change since pre pandemic. Better make sure I know all the cool places again :D
Oh absolutely - the changes are a bit frustrating because I feel like I should go back and remake all of my older videos to reflect what's going on in the city now! Glad you find the videos helpful .) have an amazing visit to Edinburgh!
Great hotels recommendation. Wilde at Grassmarket is my favourite but out of my budget. Was planning a trip before but did not happen due to COVID. But hopefully next year it will happen and will add Eden Locke and Yotel to my list. Thanks.
Thank you for the little details, like food, bed, bathroom, sitting area, location, views! When we pick a hotel, those are the things we scrutinize as it’s usually a 6-10 day stay (even tho we just have time to SLEEP, it’s our hub/base for all the getting around we can in that time frame). I’m really liking the aparthotel concept! I’m glad you did the Yotel review, it was saved on my TripAdvisor (as a contender) - but after seeing it in 3D, NOPE. Its not for me. I did like the other 2 places, so I’ve bookmarked those. We both like places with some panache or character. Old or new, boutique & quirky. 💖 Thank you - this was a good video, and glad you two got “away” for a few days!
That's amazing - I was really hoping a proper walk-through of the rooms would be helpful to someone! I agree that even when you're spending nights and early morning in your hotel, it's still worth making it a comfortable base. My fave was probably Eden Locke as their interior design was seriously on point, but the castle views made me feel like a VIP!
I don’t think I’d bother with the hotel breakfast when there’s a greggs near and I am dying to try it..unless the hotel offed a full Scottish breakfast which yea I’m dyin to try also
My partner and I have just found your channel, having moved to Edinburgh in July this year - I am OBSESSED! I love your channel, and you are making us so excited about exploring our new home :) Thank you for how detailed and wonderful your videos are!
p.s. *where* do you find all your gorgeous knits and coats?? I feel like I can never have enough, especially now I'm further North than I've ever lived before 😬
Ooooh I bet you're gonna have a great time - sounds like a good choice as the regular queen room was a bit smallish (but it felt especially so after staying in those amazing aparthotels beforehand haha)!
Great video, I have just come back from Edinburgh and stayed at Eden Locke and really enjoyed it, fantastic location and really handy for walks to Dean Village and Stockbridge.
Thank you so much for this video, I have booked 4 nights with The Wilde Aparthotel using my air miles I will let you know how my stay goes and let them know that I’m here because of this video. (October 1st to 7th)
I liked the Grassmarket Hotel, the room had one wall covered in Beano and Dandy covers, opposite wall had a map of central Edinburgh with interesting places marked.
I like the idea of an apart-hotel but I know we’d be out and about and not wanting to stay there and cook! I think next time we may stay closer to Grassmarket, I really loved that area.
I’ve been to Wild the apart hotels with the view during Hogmanay and the torchlight procession it was AMAZING, I paid around 550€ for 2 nights (2 adults 2 children) expensive but it was really worth it
“Let’s wait for the police to take us out” 😂😂😂😂hey what do you think of the Mercure Edinburgh. It’s on princes st. Looks like a good location . Scot Monument and view of castle and close to everything and not outrageously expensive …awsome video you guys
I know Mercure falls under Accor Hotels and I've always had good experience with their properties - usually nothing exciting but a solid standard. I imagine it's a pretty good value especially given the neighbourhood!
I didn't even know it was already there last year! I think it's good to know about the spot because when you're at Grassmarket and things get busy, you can always hide away in their little hotel inner yard to chill! .)
Great, useful insights in to some Edinburgh stay options - Thank you. I hope you and Simon enjoyed your little local "staycation." Lastly, Kakibot - as I said before, no make-up needed, and I think you are doing that... why hide natural beauty? Happy for you an Simon enjoying the aspects of life. Cheers to your folks!
Hey Jimmy! Thanks for watching and glad you liked the video! Regarding make-up - it doesn't have to be just something we do for others, as a somewhat artsy person I enjoy using it .) and last two years didn't really offer much opportunity to wear it, so shooting videos is my equivalent of going out .)
Beyond the larger, more budget hotels, there tends to be an option to upgrade to a better room which might have a tub! Worth looking into. I'd say older, more BnB-esque hotels might have a higher chance of having a tub (but sometimes have worse accessibility overall, no lifts etc)
When I visited Edinburgh, we stayed at the Ritz Hotel. Turns out having a fancy name doesn't necessarily mean it's a fancy hotel.
I was convinced by the view of Edinburgh Castle from the bed 🤗
Thank you Kakibot! We are so excited to stay in one of these when we come to Edinburgh!

Hi Jessica! Thank you for the love for my content
@@Kakibot Thanks for replying! Yay for eBay amirite?? Please keep up the videos, they're awesome!
Going to Edinburgh next week. Booked the Yotel hotel but the VIP king suite for our stay. Great video!
Ooooh I bet you're gonna have a great time - sounds like a good choice as the regular queen room was a bit smallish (but it felt especially so after staying in those amazing aparthotels beforehand haha)!
@@Kakibot those aparthotels did look amazing! So excited for our trip now and your videos have been super useful to watch as well
I LOVE THE EDEN LOCKE!! 💕
I loved hotel 1 and 2. Might be my next pick. Thanks a lot.
Great video, I have just come back from Edinburgh and stayed at Eden Locke and really enjoyed it, fantastic location and really handy for walks to Dean Village and Stockbridge.
Glad you enjoyed it! I’d stay there again in a heartbeat!
This was great fun, where would you all recommend to stay for short breaks?

Thanks for sharing! Stay well.
Thank you for sharing. Any reviewed hotels in London?
I liked the Grassmarket Hotel, the room had one wall covered in Beano and Dandy covers, opposite wall had a map of central Edinburgh with interesting places marked.
Beautiful hotels, i like their architecture! 😍❤️
OMG I’m in love with that reclining bed 😍
I like the idea of an apart-hotel but I know we’d be out and about and not wanting to stay there and cook! I think next time we may stay closer to Grassmarket, I really loved that area.
You might want to update your pricing. Eden Locke is £239 for the studio per night.
I’ve been to Wild the apart hotels with the view during Hogmanay and the torchlight procession it was AMAZING, I paid around 550€ for 2 nights (2 adults 2 children) expensive but it was really worth it
Glad to hear you loved it! I imagine Hogmanay is probably THE high season for hotel prices! I wonder what it would be like for the August fireworks...

I really liked it ahahahah I stayed at StayCity aparthotels (the cheapest version) last year and It was pretty cool!
I didn't even know it was already there last year! I think it's good to know about the spot because when you're at Grassmarket and things get busy, you can always hide away in their little hotel inner yard to chill! .)
The beds looked small for 2 people I would want a king sized bed.
This may just be my taste but why do they all look so very cold industrial looking. Nothing cozy and pretty like the city they are in.

I love Eden Lock
Cheaper staying at holiday in in corstorphine when coming into the country. Do your research before coming into Scotland, then your not surprised.
Was there window in yotel
There was one in our room - I believe it is the standard in this specific Yotel. Wasn't openable though ./
Hi! I’m staying in Edinburg for few days from 31st of may so if anyone would like to meet up pls comment below ☺️
I need a hotel that has a 🛀 bath tub. Why does Edinburgh have no hotels have bath tubs?
Beyond the larger, more budget hotels, there tends to be an option to upgrade to a better room which might have a tub! Worth looking into. I'd say older, more BnB-esque hotels might have a higher chance of having a tub (but sometimes have worse accessibility overall, no lifts etc)
Not enough room walk around
