Does anyone else feel like that with all the information available on the internet (and good old libraries) such gross misinformation is not justified anymore? Cause honestly it is starting to bug me real bad
Seriously though. Someone says all this misinformation without any proof and people just believe it, like that! Are people just that gullible on top of lacking common sense nowadays?
of course people will believe what other tell them if they say things they want to hear... i am fat and looking to lose weight i'm gonna stumble on a video saying drink lemon water this will cure everything you don't need to diet or do sport well you are gonna try it cause it's easy same goes for other things and yes people do not take time to do their research because most of the time they will probably not find the correct information straight away doing a google search and it takes time to actually understand it...
Many people who put such posts on social media did do some form of research. I would argue that the problem is that there's too much information online. Finding good info takes time, and often those texts are not written in very easy language, maybe look boring etc. Instead the first few options in online search are usually colourful, magazine layout type of texts which are much more appealing. Then there's also confirmation bias. When there's a lot of info available, some of it will align more with your views, so it will be easier to find "evidence" which supports your opinion.
@@Black.Spades there's a lot of information, not too much. And you might even argue there's too much, but at the same time it's not hard to see which sources are trustworthy or not. Using glycolic acid as deodorant is even recommended by The Ordinary. It's not going to cause redness if you use a small amount once a day and of course do a patch test beforehand.

Yeeeees I've always said this about the app. Soooo much misinformation on so many levels. I'm glad there are people like you calling it out. Thank you.
Actually, I cured my acne by unclogging my guts. 🤷🏻♀️ I have lazy guts and slow digestion that leads to clogging and food buildup. The food is sometimes the culprit,I mean in my case my guts were 'dirty' and causing me so much problems with skin and whole body. And yeah, specific tea when combined with fiber and plant fats can just unclog your guts, you will sit on toilet for days. This happened to me, my skin is now wow. Also for someone who has hormonal acne, face mapping is true. I have cystic acne on my jawline. Not everything is pseudo science.
I remember hearing that dandelion tea cured acne when I was younger so I drank it every day for a couple weeks leading up to an event I was attending hoping it would clear my skin. I ended up at the doctor's office because I had over 80 bruises on my legs. Just like you said, you don't know what's in them and you never know how you'll react.
They're really good at presenting their "facts" in a way that makes perfect sense. I too, fell for some of the detox and natural vs chemical height until one day it hit me that water is a chemical and that, as a student, I constantly heard about validating data, checking sources, etc. What was I doing assuming these articles were actually providing accurate information or interpreting data correctly? I'm still ashamed to this day. EWG is especially good at seeming a savvy, reliable organization that's also legit.
I feel like as our society begins to progress, obviously things get easier. That also makes research seem “easier” i think the difference of research and googling something is starting to bind together and therefore makes misinformation more likely to get out. Not only should you be finding multiple websites to support this one claim you make, these websites need to be actually reliable and not just something off of a .com website not saying all .com websites hold misinfo, but the info is most likely to be backed up by different factors whether certain doctors or whatever is profession would be relevant to back those things up in something like a .org. This is some info I memorized since elementary school and while there is a pro-con factor to basically everything ever beyond the internet, you’re gonna have the better amount of luck with websites like that and just exploring and then looking into the specifics the website used even if it doesn’t seem reliable.
My skin has improved so much because of you, hyram and the derms from doctorly I think ones name is Dr. Shaw? But you guys are doing such a good job at spreading good information. My acne has improved so much and I now have a better understanding of my skin and can easily spot misinformation and scams. I now use sunscreen literally every day and actually have a routine. So just thank you so much I really appreciate your channel.
Love you and your videos Cassandra! ❤️ I’m an RN who is going back to graduate school to become a nurse practitioner and hope to specialize in dermatology!
I find it so funny that some of the retinol stuff was essentially "if you dont listen to your derm/medical esthetician, you will experience these side effects." My derm was super clear that I need to take it s l o w with retinol, wear sunscreen because it makes you photosensitive, and, like you said, the dose makes the poison. I've taken epuris, tactupump and other benzoyl peroxide products, and now on an antibiotic and no professional has ever told me any of the crap on tik tok!!
People use multiple products and we dont really know what happens when we layer products with the same ingredient that can be harmful in higher doses,so that's a thing to think about
This is such a long shot but could you possibly do a video on good products to take with you if you're camping or backpacking? Things that are generally safe with using directly in nature. Can't imagine a lot of conventional ingredients can be good for wildlife
Last night I saw this guy showing his skincare routine, but the first thing he did was rubbing his hands with alcohol sanitizer gel then he applied his skincare.. I don't think that's safe?
I overall have clear skin, but when allergy hits hard, i got breakouts under my jaw line, towards ears. So happy I do not use this trash bin called Tik Tok 😅.

@@BelgianBisous I think it is not very common. I got it when I am too long around animals that I am allergic to. My sister gets it after eating gluten. It has something to do with work of your immune system in limfatic glands under your jaw I guess.
3:22 thank you for reacting to this, the way their showing it, 1 step fix. I doubt even in 100 uses it will be like this. You cant just wipe to perfect skin. I really wish that commercial gets taken down
The only reason to drink tea is if you like it :) Nettle may help absord iron, but I haven't found any study supporting this. Absolutely nothing to do with acne
I prefer to use more natural skin products, not because the ones that have "chemical ingredients" are going to kill me, but because my skin is very very sensitive to some of their products and I do not know to how many of them it is, so, I prefer natural brands because I know that they are not going to cause me any episode of allergy; everyone is free to choose what they consider is better for their skin, that is for sure.
Why do I have the urge to flip a table each time the new tiktok videos play especially the retinol one 😩. Oh btw if you want to create “scientific” based content please give us the receipt. Just as cassandra said, these type of misinformation can cause more harm than good to a lot of people.

Hi Cassandra. Could you possibly do a video on how you got into your career before TH-cam? Sorry if you already did so but whenever you mention medical aesthetician, I get so curious. Thanks!
Man,,,,one of my closest friends (who also suffers from really bad anxiety) is currently having a crisis over things she’s read on the internet that are backed up by EWG and nothing I say to her can change her mind. The most recent thing is throwing out everything in her house that’s plastic. I love how the ads for that roll on blackhead mask show one of the girls with a bunch of freckles and then she wipes it off and not only are her "blackheads" on the towel but her freckles are gone too. If this mask could instantly remove pigment like that it would be better than hq.
skin products with chemicals in can only effect you if you use a full bottle a day lol using the small amount we use daily gets flushed out by your body and being fully hydrated with water helps.

Oh god I remember when I started to be more environmentally concious I was bombarded with clean beauty products and being brainwashed that standard commercial product is bad and have to avoid like those BANNED DANGEROUS INGREDIENTS which is in almost every good skincare. So then I used COCONUT OIL on my face and did not wash my face at all. My god my face was freaking the fuck out, I had to use mask (it's before covid). Now I am more informed my skin is looking better than ever. It's so sad that marketers targeting people with good intention...
Interesting that Propylene Glycol as I’ve read that Propylene Glycol is a possible irritant for people with sensitive skin along with alcohol denat. I have sensitive skin and rosacea, and it’s hard to find products that don’t contain either of these especially Propylene Glycol which seems to be in most products.
drinking aspartame is much worse than a skin product! aspartame builds up in your body quickly and makes me feel drained so I try and avoid it as much as I can, but sometimes I have a diet coke now and again lol

Once I started learning about skincare, my face improved along with going to a dermatologist. Misinformation is dangerous.
Wait til these people look up what salt is made up off
I swear I’m disliking Tiktok each day more. also it is the best platform for predators not very safe for children
Cass, dear, I feel you. Welcome to "Biology student VS """Organic""" believers"
Cassandra, I am really grateful that you are a living being in this world. Me and my skin can't thank you enough. You are amazing ❤
Thank you for calling this shit out!!!
Loved your reactions lol Hard to stay calm when they present such BS as if they know what they are talking about when they clearly don't.
People use multiple products and we dont really know what happens when we layer products with the same ingredient that can be harmful in higher doses,so that's a thing to think about
Thank you for doing this 😊❤️ You and a few doctors on YT have calmed me down so much from A LOT of misinformation I used to believe. 🤦🏼♀️😌
God this misinformation makes me so mad. They have no qualifications to say what they do. So irresponsible 🤬
Master Esthetician in WA here. Its safe, I do it when I reapply my sunscreen. Just make sure it's fully absorbed.
@@shelbyschroder4140 oh thank you for your confirmation☺. I am concerned because I have sensitive skin, so seeing he did that kinda scares me😂
My friend in highschool used to rub hand sanitizer on her face to get rid of pimples. Didnt work
I overall have clear skin, but when allergy hits hard, i got breakouts under my jaw line, towards ears. I was pretty suprised when it was not mention in this "informational video", cause this would be really helpful for many people 😅. This is how I firt got to know that I am allergic. So happy I do not use this trash bin called Tik Tok 😅.
omg when allergy hits me the worst i get red skin allergy spots sometimes. Hadn't heard about breakouts. I just get breakouts around my nose from having to blow my nose so much
@@BelgianBisous I think it is not very common.
I really wish that commercial gets taken down
That is why you shouldn’t be listening to random people on TikTok
Your absolutely right about that!
I admit I was one of those people that were taken in by DIYs and bad filters, but I am reformed and I have a morning and night skincare routine, including sunscreen. Definitely sharing your channel to friends.
Just as someone that used sulfur to rid my acne… there are so many good sulfur masks out there that can help you spot treat breakouts!! But 99.9% sulfur def isn’t one of them
You really feel like my big cyster. I've been following you since the beginning and all the skincare I own is because of you. I can handle my skin pretty well at the moment, since I don't go to the skin therapist anymore (bc of the money). Thanks for your information and knowledge
I am glad tiktoc is banned in my country, otherwise who knows how many of these trends I would have tried and damaged my skin.
These ads are infuriating. Also I keep seeing them using clips of people reviewing them and SHOWING how the company faked it in their advertisement.
The company literally takes the clip of people showing how to fake it and claims it’s how their product works.
😡😡😡
I saw an ad on Facebook that sold something that REMOVED pores!! It was one of the poppyseed in cream looking ones and was so obviously photoshopped
Im a Nurse.. and Im with you Cassandra! skin care needs to have a sciencific back up too.. 😌
Thanks to you I have found a great skin care routine that has finally cleared up my skin. I've struggled with acne and am 32 and I finally have real relief! Thanks for your quality suggestions.
And for the love of the universe, please do NOT rely on a tea regarding STDs.
161 views! This is the earliest I can get omgggggggggg - next goal: to be the first 10 viewers every time Cassandra uploads! Love you, acne big cyster! Sincerely, from an acne small cyster from Philippines
Congrats on 1.5 mil Cassandra! You deserve it 💚❤️
I started using retinol after watching you, along with other actives you have talked about to help my acne! And it has helped. Then my lash tech claimed it was bad for my skin, and said all that stuff that girl said, and it kinda freaked me out. So I stopped using it for a while. But I recently started again, and it helps.
It breaks my heart to see her suffering and how fearful she is over misinformation from the internet, mom groups and sources like EWG. Like, I seriously had to delete my mom group app after I had my daughter because every day there was something new everyone was freaking tf out about. 🤦🏻♀️
I love how the ads for that roll on blackhead mask show one of the girls with a bunch of freckles and then she wipes it off and not only are her "blackheads" on the towel but her freckles are gone too. If this mask could instantly remove pigment like that it would be better than hq.
Love your channel. As an esthetician I learn so much! Love how researched you channel is. Thanks for for the hard work!
It would please my evil little heart if you actually go onto Tik tok and call them out Cassandra and make a video doing it!
Keep telling it .... 🙌🙌 Doing the good skin deed....
While watching this, I literally got a Green Mask Stick ad. 😂
skin products with chemicals in can only effect you if you use a full bottle a day lol using the small amount we use daily gets flushed out by your body and being fully hydrated with water helps.
Thanks for all you do. I’ve been a subscriber for years and I can say that my skin has gotten better since I started following some of your recommendations. 😍
I don't use over the counter medicine, cuz it has so many negative side affects and the worse thing it says at the end is may cause death, so I go the natural method which is let my body does its thing or drink water or rest and stuff like that.
I'm always in a lot of "Fights" and Discussions with totally misinformated People! 😠😭😡👊
Same around the COVID Problem! Oh nooo, how can it be that adult People doesn't believe the Scientists?
I will never understand this! 😭😫😏
3:30 XD omg so funny.. thank you so much for reviewing this spam advertising! Bless you
drinking aspartame is much worse than a skin product! aspartame builds up in your body quickly and makes me feel drained so I try and avoid it as much as I can, but sometimes I have a diet coke now and again lol
How is a real way to get rid of acne scars (red ones)??
Cassandra, you are amazing!!! Iam learning so much from your videos!!! And becoming a skincare lover!!! 🙏🏻😁🤩❤️
spiritual aura healing always helps me for minor ailments
I love watching tic tok but the dyi bs and the fake skincare stuff just entertains me tbh and I never believe any of it. Just like I always see that green stick thing that magically wipe away pores and gives u blurry filtered-like photoshop skin smh.
7:29 that woman Reaally pissed me of for some some reason 😀. Especially when she said "EWG" and "Natural and safe" alternatives
Love your face reacting to these tik toks, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us, very appreciated
4:22 I like how her "research" is looking up one non-scientific article that was probably written by a non-expert writer trying to reach an article deadline.
I’m very happy you share videos like this… 😊
