Awesome review my blade brother!!! Compared to all of my other ADV's I think this one is much more muted. Good to see that you put the ADV on top of the MKT, LOL!!!
I have a few adv’s and it’s what kicked me on my custom knife journey. I saw one on metal complex’s channel years ago, made a comment, and the owner asked if I wanted to buy an adv tanto 2017. And I was interested, and fell in love. I bought 5 or 6 more and I can’t bear to sell them- even the ones that I don’t love. And some of them I absolutely love. I love the overbuilt but usable factor. And I love the aesthetic of his builds. Andre de Villiers and his team can make some beautiful finishes and I love the design and action. Only S African cnc maker that I know of, and there is always a great amount of machining and finish. I love how they lock in to the hand, without being overly commanding in the grips too. I can change positions when cutting but there is always a specific place where the hand was made to hold the frames - while letting you move around and pinch grip, or change grips accordingly. ADV was my “Medford,” for years, and remains to be my favorite overbuilt cnc/cistom maker, along with Brian nadeau. Thanks Dirk !! (Ps that grind is sickkkkk!!!)
Great Knife👍 Of course the button lock has its limitations in terms of design but in the case of Adv tactical I found its way stronger then expected from a button lock. Its pretty overbuild. I used the first run (2020) Adv Pitboss knife (same lock) 2 summers to chop wood about 3 times per week. I used that wood for my dog to jump in the water and bring it back. Often he looes it and he wants big wood. So it suvived a lot of careless chopping. It also survived 10 pretty decent spine wacks. But at the end I was able to get some deformation and failure after heavy abuse. But then over the years the button adjusted and went in deeper and fixed itself basically so its very strong again and still functions after 4 years
I have a javelin and I like it but it's probably the most difficult knife I own to sharpen and I have a lot of recurves for some reason the javelin give me a real hard time
Badass blade, thanks for sharing !!
I like his designs. Great video 👍
@@jeremyspaulding7735 thanks I like it too.

@@gator3-234 awesome
I'm gonna have to get a ADV. Been thinking about it for awhile
@@Obsidian-One DO IT
That ADV is pretty rad, but every time you pull out that grenade praetorian that’s all I can think about. Haha

Just a heads up Dirk - video on this is grainy. Might want to check your settings. Your stuff is usually crystal clear.
@@ekirenrut hmm looks okay to me but I’ll look.
Thanks.

@@gareygerosky8030 good point.
It is really not fair to the review knives when you flash the Fischer. It is like saying "Meet my wife but Look at my Future Wife". Cheers!
