I love that neither Miorine nor Eri's actions helped Suletta heal here. She was never supposed to understand why they did what they did, cuz if she did she'd get involved. She now understands and she will get involved. Gundam ain't glorifying abuse for a SECOND and I love it.

She doesn't understand their entire plan, but after seeing what they've done, she's getting involved regardless. At this point she'll most likely seek answers from Prospera and Eri at all costs, but they'll probably keep trying to push her away until they're done. Prospera played them all perfectly, and everything is according to plan. Suletta should be the one to hinder that in the end though

    Really loved this episode.
The moment Guel and Kenanji went after that kid I said out loud: "This, THIS is where everything starts going wrong. DO NOT GET SEPARATED!"
It was great to see the anger and determination in Guel's voice once he put the pieces about Shaddiq together and Miorine was smart in saying they need evidence to pin him down. El5n became more likeable again, I think this is the first time he's genuinely nice to Norea, the two of them being people bound by the curse of the gundams.
Prospera's revenge is only beginning, she played everyone excellently, I thought she was going to use all those Lfriths as gundolvas but she had a more important message to send. I hope the next episode is going to be packed with a lot of action because so much was set up this episode.

    • @RevoSKL

I was hoping Guel was going to run into someone he knew from when he was on Earth in episode 15, and I'm glad it was the kid. As for Shaddiq, I wouldn't put it past him to kill or have already killed Sarius in anticipation.
El5n is goofy as hell and has been really fun. El4n was a sad tale, but El5n has been far more dynamic.
As for Prospera, yeah she has a hand in pretty much everyone's pocket. She has manipulated so many different parties which makes it a bit confusing with the whole Ochs Earth thing. Might be cleared up more in the coming episodes and may just be a case of having some information to attach to things but not enough.

I don't think Prospera was part of the high council. She didn't know where the other Gundams came from and spent time looking into it after the attack, realizing that Ochs Earth had perverted Vanadis' ideals about GUND and nearly ruined her plans with Eri by attacking Quetta, and then decided to remove the additional Gundams.
So you effectively have Prospera on her own side, Shaddiq and the Assembly League seemingly working towards the same goal, and Mio with the group trying to stay afloat.

You should redo the Och Earth portion, because that isn't at all what is explained. But it is understandable to be confused because that was a lot of information at once.
Basically, as I understand it, Dawn of the Fold is remnants of Och Earth within earth that is supported by Space Assembly League to hurt Benerit Group (because SAL thought Benerit is becoming too strong). Vanadis (and Prospera included) wasn't originally part of Och Earth, but was bought by Och Earth. Gund-tech was originally its own thing, but after bought by Och Earth Vanadis has to use Gund-tech on Mobile Suit, which become Gund-arms. So at present day, Prospera isn't part of SAL or Dawn of the Fold. She actually despise them.
Prospera this episode implied that she hates Och Earth because they perverted Gund-tech, changing it from helping humanity into making killing machines, which is why she destroy their Gundams. This episode pretty much clarify Prospera's revenge. It is not just on Benerit Group, but actually on everyone that responsible in the Vanadis incident, including Och Earth who forced Vanadis Group into making Gund-arm in the first place.
There are so many speculation that comes from this (for example, maybe both Prospera and Delling working together because their goal, outside of Quite Zero, is to crush SAL who responsible for Gund-arm to exist in the first place). But I personally a better reader than explainer, so I'll wait for other people to speculate some more instead of making my own.

The other possibility is that the Asteroid Folkvangr was the only part of Ochs Earth that was destroyed, they were used as scapegoats and the rest of the corporation went into hiding with aid of some politicians of Space Assembly that wanted to keep an ace in the hole for a future war with the Benerit Group. My understanding of the plot is that there are some intra-Spacian conflicts between the Space Assembly League (or at least some members of it) and the Benerit group. The Space Assembly League (SAL) decided to work with Earthians, especially through Ochs Earth, to remove the Benerit group (or its precursor, the Cathedra group). Maybe this conflict is just simple intra-Spacian politics, we don't know yet, but it seems that Shaddiq is involved but he has his own motivations of using this conflict for Earthians' benefits.

This time around, I don't really have an in-depth analysis of the episode. Everything pretty much happened how most of us thought it would, and Mio really should have known better than to trust Prospera like we all knew. While it is understandable why she trusted Prospera's word, she did keep her promise of not having Suletta involved after all. Though you could argue that she'd break that promise in a heart beat if Suletta was required for this part of the plan but Mio was played just like everyone else, now Prospera's revenge is in full swing and things will only get worse considering the next episode is called "The End of Hope".
As for predictions, I think once Prospera is done on Earth, she will return to space to finish whatever Quiet Zero is going to do and once Suletta gets involved and whether she'll get to Earth before Prospera is finished there remains to be seen.
Either way, I can see Eri having doubts once she sees her little sister's determination, though I doubt she'll be able to go against Prospera as it's been heavily implied that she has to obey Prospera, whether that's an subconcsious choice on Eri's part or she's being outright controlled by Prospera through the helmet, that isn't entirely clear to me, at least.
In the end, I think the final battle will happen in Space, and it will probably turn into a free for all where every company from the Benerit Group, the Assembly League and elements from Earth will fight it out, with Suletta and Miorine in the middle of it and hopefully able to fight together. After all, that "crucial component" for Quiet Zero is in space, so my assumption is Quiet Zero will happen in space.
Also, the little scene with Mio watching the ad with Suletta in it was pretty cute. It was enough to show us that Mio does still care and feels guilty for what she thought she had to do. Though I get the feeling that guilt will now skyrocket considering her final lines in the episode.

    • @RevoSKL
      @RevoSKL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

The plot by the end got a bit fast and confusing for me in regards to Ochs Earth, but after some thinking about it and other comments putting some pieces together, I get it now for the most part. Still missing some vital information, but it's clearer now. I knew Prospera was going to use Mio, but man she really set the town on fire and got Mio to take the fall with no mercy. She played everyone involved perfectly.
I think whatever Prospera has left to do will ultimately be hindered by Suletta. More in the way that they'll keep pushing her away as much as they can, with Suletta pushing back and probably rejecting whatever is planned. At this point I'm assuming the side effects of Quiet Zero will be highly immoral and selfish, atleast with Prospera wanting Eri's "freedom" over everyone else.
I believe Eri('s) love Suletta, and really want the best for her, as seen in the novel, but as you mentioned Prospera may have total control over her, so has to go about things with that in mind. Maybe if Eri has a choice in the matter, she would rather choose protecting Suletta over Prospera.
I agree with space being the showdown spot in the end, and it may be largely due to Earth becoming even more destroyed in the coming episodes due to the incident in this one. That and the Quiet Zero component being at Plant Quetta, whatever it is. I'm really interested in seeing how the school's Houses handle the situation if full on war breaks out.
I kind of expect Mio to break down to Suletta at some point. She's been pretty head strong, but she cares a lot about Suletta and the House, and has been shouldering many burdens since going full on with the business side of things. Girl needs a break and to let out some emotions to someone, just like Suletta.

@@RevoSKL Yeah, thinking on it a bit more, I think what happened is that the Ochs Earth's higher ups sold out the Vanadis Institute. Where Ochs Earth then used the GUND technology, originally meant for medical research, for military purposes in secret. I had to look this up cause Ochs Earth is the parent company of Vanadis, when I thought it was the other way around. So officially, Ochs Earth was disbanded because of the actions of the Mobile Suit Development Council but it's possible that unofficially, Ochs Earth continued in secret because the council actually wanted Gundam weapons, and these official actions were simply taken to appease the common masses that were complaining about Gundams being dangerous to use.
Delling ordering the unsanctioned attack on Fólkvangr maybe wasn't part of the plan and that they were probably going to get rid of them a bit more quietly. You know, just "disappear" them without anyone noticing and even though Delling's attack worked in their favor in some way, it also lead to Eri and Prospera being able to flee with Lfrith and now Prospera is taking, let's say drastic measures to make those responsible pay.
The remnants of Ochs Earth then either rebranded or formed shell companies to cover up what they were actually doing, whether the Space Assembly League or some other influental group helped them with this is unclear, but these people may have been the ones to form this "secret council", and then continued selling Gundams or their component parts to whoever was interested and that may be how some of the Benerit Group companies were able to build their own secret Gundams for military purposes. War profiteering and corporate corruption galore.
And this is why war partitioning continued, all in the name of profit.
This would certainly explain Prospera's hatred of Ochs Earth now and why Delling was working with Prospera. He was the one that didn't want any kind of Gundam, so when he found out what some of those higher ups did, he was probably not very happy.
By the way, while I still have you, I wanted to ask if you have a Gunpla kit of the Aerial? I've been thinking of getting it myself and this would be my first ever Gunpla. So I wanted to know if it's complicated to build at all? I have no experience with Gunpla and I haven't really looked up videos on it, so I figured I'd ask someone who has experience with building them directly.

A bit confused on the Ochs Earth thing. From what I gathered, whoever all are involved with the Assembly League "high council", who are also supposedly secretive, are from Ochs Earth. Which is implied that Prospera is part of that. So while Shaddiq had a hand in the two attacks, Prospera should've been the higher authority in that, without Shaddiq fully knowing. Some SAL (Space Assembly League) higher-ups secretly keeping Ochs Earth alive (the company that bought Vanadis and turned the Gund into mobile weapons) to crank out Lfrith Units. Some of them are used to arm DoF (Dawn of Fold). Feng Jun has been investigating Gundams made by Shin Sei (Prospera's company) to see if there's any connection to SAL higher-ups or not. Feng Jun got shot by Godoy coz he can't let SAL members go to Plant Quetta to see Quiet Zero (whatever that is).
And now during the climax of the episode, Prospera voiced her resentment for Ochs Earth (turning Gund into weapons) while destroying many Lfrith Units so that no one can use Gundams opposing her plan like what happened in Plant Quetta attack & the school raid. And since SAL & Ochs Earth are in cahoots, and Prospera hate Ochs Earth's guts, I doubt Prospera is part of SAL. But that's just IMO so far 🤷

I dont know if they'll be able to close the story off properly with five more episodes. Even if we get an OVA about what happens after. I feel like rushing everything is going to leave some questions unanswered.

Agreed. Hell, we've had quite a few quick exposition dumps in the last few episodes, hence my confusion with part of the plot in this episode. I understand now after some retrospect, but it dumped some info on us real quick there

@@RevoSKL Honestly, i think that season one is the 24 episodes that we're getting through July, if my math is correct, and we will be getting Season 2 later. I find it odd that Crunchyroll has the episodes listed under Season 1. Also, most series for this franchise are at least 40 episodes long. At least the parallel universes like Wing/SEED/00/ and Iron Blooded Orphans. Universal Century is pretty much still ongoing with Unicorn and Hathaway. Too many things are barely beginning to ramp up for them to just finish the series with episode 24. I know it might be wishful thinking, but the trajectory the show is taking seems like there's a long stretch still to come.

Prospera has only just begun her big vengeance play. Five episodes might only be enough time for Suletta to confront her Mom about the full scope of her plan. Whatever revelation that is, will be the catalyst for all of season 2 if they make one.

Since this is a mainline Gundam show, we should expect 50(ish) episodes. So the end of this season should be only the first half.
Obviously there may be business constraints, but if this show doesn't end at around 50(ish) it would be considered a failure and a significant break from the usual patterns from the last 25 years.

Personally I'd like things to absolutely go to hell and Prospera "win", Earth and Space being ruptured which triggers a time skip leading into a season 2. I like that kind of stuff. Seeing characters drastically change due to events like that. Either way, I hope we get a season 2, it really doesn't feel like they can fit everything in a good pace for 5 episodes and may feel rushed

I still hate Kenanji's guts. Shadiq will lose as he is found out to be a traitor defaulting to Mio becoming president. Noria's cover is blown since she is one of the names the kid talked about infron of Guel and Kenanji.
