The general sentiment about this movie when it came out was that they were setting up Jessica Biel's and especially Ryan Reynolds' characters for possible stand-alone sequels, which is why they sidelined Blade for much of the movie and gave Ryan some of the funnier/memorable parts. That detracted from Blade's overall role which pretty much weakened the movie relative to the others in my opinion.
“We needed her to fire an arrow towards the camera,” director David S. Goyer said in a behind-the-scenes look of Blade Trinity. “In order to protect the crew and the camera we had everything walled with plexiglass so that everyone would be safe. And the only thing that wasn’t walled off was a little 2×2 square directly in front of the lens of the camera.” Goyer also noted how Biel was 40 feet away from the camera, as well as 50 feet in the air. However, Biel’s archery skills improved so much that she was able to directly strike the camera lens from the distance. “She hit a complete bullseye and the arrow embedded about six inches into the camera, went through the lens, and ended up destroying about a $300,000 camera,” Goyer said. th-cam.com/video/VApoQKeCcVk/w-d-xo.html "Jessica Biel destroyed a $300,000 camera by shooting it with an arrow on the set of Blade: Trinity"

The movie gets a lot of hate which is fair, it’s not a perfect movie. But this movie saved my life in 2009. I was going through a divorce, drinking a lot, and lost everything. I was so depressed, was on the verge of ending my life. So I got drunk one night then Blade: Trinity was on tv. So I’m laying on the floor so drunk and completely gone. Apparently Wesley Snipes was angry with the director and the script for this one and they could barely get him out of his trailer to come to the set. The production was a nightmare compared to the first two movies.

Well, as Meat Loaf sang, two outta three ain't bad. But yeah, I prefer to think of them as duologies, even if I do find SOME things each deeply flawed third entry does right.
Definitely my least favorite they kind of took out what made the first two movies good, and added in waaaaaay to many cheesy one liners (mainly from Ryan) so it became blade plus Deadpool in my opinion this movie is basically why we didn’t get another one. 🤷🏾♀️ I mean is it still a fun watch? yes I admit super cool seeing Triple H as a vampire lol just doesn’t hit the same as the first two. Love the reaction guys happy you enjoyed it ❤ Edit: 11:25 I love they added this moment he doesn’t show a lot of emotion but the scream after losing Whistler and laying down his sword knowing this time he’s really gone is pretty heartbreaking for years that was the only parent he knew.
My guess is there’s a lot of internal resistance to the rating. They gave it an R, but I’d bet there’s still a to of executives uncomfortable with it and keep wanting rewrites to curb the language or gore.
Blooper: Blade jumps out of the window, broken glass everywhere. "I forgot my sword." Glass magically disappears. This was the worst installment in the Blade franchise.
FUN FACT: the ame guy who wrote all three movies )and directed the third) later went on to become showrunner for the short-lived series, which picks up a few months after the events of Trinity (it's currently available on Tubi, a free streaming service).
You guys seem conflicted over Dracula's involvement in this film, but it actually makes sense. Blade's first appearance in Marvel comics was in The Tomb of Dracula, and he went on to appear in that series for many more issues before eventually showing up alongside Spider-Man and Morbius (Morbius actually bit Blade which is what originally turned Blade into the Daywalker), and later in his own comic.
@@JasonKreider-eq8kp He's teamed up with a lot of people. But Dracula, Spider-Man, and Morbius are three of the most important characters in Blade's early history.
Enjoyed your reaction guys. I get it; as a vampire movie this one might lack a bit. But the addition of Ryan as comic relief might have saved this movie (you're right, he absolutely stole the movie). Was it bad? No. Was.it great? Also no. But it was a really fun watch. And it seems fitting that ryan was in one of the first MCU movies and then later i. Deadpool. For the record, one great vampire movie I think you'd like that gets overlooked is Near Dark with Lance Henriksen. Well worth a look if you're interested.
The movie felt like a caricature of the first two, much like later Marvel movies feel like caricatures of the earlier ones i.e. Iron Man or Captain America vs Thor: Love and Thunder... Disappointing ending to a banging trilogy.
Hannibal King in the comics was a PI turned by DEACON FROST (from the first movie). He met Blade while both were hunting the vampire and made an alliance in order to together kill him, Hannibal for turning him and Blade for his mother. In the end they had an somewhat uneasy friendship\alliance as Hannibal was a GOOD vampire, not evil. Later Hannibal was cured through use of a cursed object that wiped away vampires, but ended up later being a half-vampire. This is from the wiki-"Hannibal King was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.[citation needed] Working as a private detective, King was bitten and killed by Deacon Frost while on a case in London, England. Horrified to find himself one of the undead, King vowed never to consummate the curse by passing it on. He subsists on blood purchased or stolen from blood banks and consumes only corpses or animals. For the most part, eschewing his vampirism, King continues to operate as a private detective, travelling freely only by night.[volume & issue needed] King was introduced when he was seen confronting Dracula, the lord of Earth's vampires. While searching for Frost, King eventually met Blade, the vampire hunter, whose mother had been killed by Frost, and together they destroy Frost. While investigating a friend's murder by worshippers of the occult book Darkhold, King contacts Doctor Strange. Learning the book contains spells to create and destroy vampires, King goes with Strange, Blade and Frank Drake to Castle Mordo in Transylvania to retrieve it. They battle Dracula and the Darkholders and use the book to cast the Montesi Formula, which destroys Dracula and all other current vampires on Earth and prevents others from existing on the planet. While King is not destroyed, because he had never taken blood from a living human being, Strange still needed to give King a complete blood transfusion, which restores King to human form. King, Drake and Blade establish a detective agency. They eventually named it Borderline Investigations. Strange manipulates them into combating the supernatural enemies that are emerging as the Montesi Formula weakens. Later, Strange examines King and concludes King had become a "neo-vampire", a special type with the same abilities and weaknesses of any yet merely craving blood and not needing it to survive[volume & issue needed] In a climactic battle with a one-time vampire king named Varnae, King and Drake are thought to have been killed, but both survived. Blade later finds King in New Orleans, where they team to fight the resurrected Frost. Later, in a two-issue solo series in the comic book Journey Into Mystery, King sets up shop in San Francisco, where CIA Agent Tatjana Stiles enlists him to help stop a vampire plot to blackmail the Earth with biochemical weapons. Stiles becomes critically injured, and King gives in to her plea to be saved via becoming a vampire. When he learns she has become a deadly vampire CIA agent, he becomes dispirited, losing interest in his work and retreating into depression. Later, Blade's father Lucas Cross offers a way to restore vampires' souls at the cost of removing vampires' strengths. Blade is against this while King is for it, leading the two allies to fight. Blade stakes King, who appears to die, but he quickly returns, and Blade gives him a potion that stops his need to consume blood."
Wesley Snipes was spending most of his time in his trailer and refused to come out that's why it seems like Jessica's and Ryan's characters carried the movie. When Snipes showed up he showed up late (and sometimes high) and phoned in most of his performance and that's why his fight scenes were not as good in this movie as the other movies, he couldn't be bothered. So the director did what he could and that's why there a lot less Blade in this movie, Snipes also apparantly tried to choke the director. In an interview Snipes said that he was interested in Blade 4 but because of his behavior on Blade 3 no one wants to work with him on it and a lot of the other costars want nothing to do with a movie with Snipes in it. Plus one of the big reasons that Blade 4 didn't happen sooner Wesley Snipes ran to Canada shortly after Blade 3 came out for tax evasion. So they made the 1 season Blade series with a different actor instead.
Blade vs Dracula that's a cool idea however the entire script for the movie needed to be rewritten Wesley Snipes what's the best part of the movie that was the only good part and a little bit of the action other than that it's a bad movie, why bring back Whistler in the 2nd 1 only to kill him off 15 minutes into the 3rd 1?, Dracula needs a whole new design new storyline new motivation have them fight more than once, 2 many characters triple h whistler's daughter and others needed to be cut out entirely they add nothing of value to the storyline they are just there, the other 2 are worth the rewatch but this one is a bad movie, Wesley Snipes however was and is the best blade of all time, if marvel was smart they should offer him any money to play blade one more time and since Deadpool is going across the multiverse or whatever it would be a perfect time to sneak him in there.
To answer ur question Oak so i did see this movie w friends in the theater & its actually my very first Ryan film!! I just remember thinking who is this guy? Obviously good looking & so fricken funny. My friend knew him from van wilder but i never knew of it. Didnt really watch those kind of movies back then. Maybe im the only person that didnt know him, but id like to think someone else out there was like me. I definately wanted to see more of him & so glad that prayer got answered lol. Great reaction fellas. Blade movies have always been one of my fav action series❤💞❤️
It was probably the first thing I remember seeing him in but it would have been on the TV at home or something. Loved Ryan Reynolds immediately, forever a fan.
Sadly, Wesley Snipes did not enjoy working on this film. So much so, that he supposedly communicated with the director via post-it notes only and stayed in his trailer almost the entire time. Also, A LOT of his scenes were shot with his stunt man where they could get away with it.
Jessica did get into shape for this role but we really didn't see any of her fighting due to excessive cutting and editing. And killing vampires should have been a little more challenging and behind the scene drama among Wesley and Ryan and the director ensured bad quality of the overall movie.
Between Purcell's efforts (all kidding aside!) He sold it as Dracula. My thoughts, anyway. But the REAL selling point..? Was that legendary line: "Blade. Ready to die...?" 😏 "I was BORN Ready, Mutha Fuckah..!"🤬 💯! 🤣🤣🤣✌🏼🌿💨
Your assessment of this movie is pretty spot on and consistent with how we all or most people felt about this installment. Little too silly, casting Ryan Reynold and adding Whistlers daughter was a little odd. Not the best directing, not the best acting. It just didn’t connect with audiences. I personally liked Parker Posey’s character and acting the best. But overall the weakest of the three films.
You guys need to watch the Resident Evil movies if you haven't already. They straight up took the dog mouth thing from this it feels like lol. Would love to see you watch them, underrated fun movies!
If there's anything nice I can say about this movie, especially compared to the other 2... it really does feel more like a comic book turned to a live action movie. I didn't look at the comments but this movie had a ton of production trouble, Wes knew it was going to be bad so he was hard to work with on this movie.
Though not for all and definitely the wackiest of the three, I still much enjoy this one - think I might have rewatched it the most actually, highly entertaining.
David S. Goyer wrote all 3 films. Trinity was his 2nd film as director. Blade was one of many characters who debuted The Tomb of Dracula comics, became one of his leading foes and without question, Drac would be the main villain in The original vision was post-apocalyptic with Dracula's return to power. Instead it was kept modern and added characters (Nightstalkers) from those comics. I liked how Dracula/Drake was depleased with how vampires were more loved than feared like they weren't a threat at all. The extended cut is a bit better than the theatrical version plus 2 alternate endings that were interesting. There was controversy with this one behind the scenes in terms of on-set fights, contractual and legal battles. Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King was obviously prepping to become Deadpool (unknowingly). In 2006, Blade got his own scripted series, the first-ever from Marvel for mature audiences, pre-Netflix. It ran 1 season (13 episodes), was set in the same universe as The Blade Trilogy after the event of the 3rd film. Even if part 3 was considered the worse, David S. Goyer bounced back with creating the screenstory for The Dark Knight Trilogy and co-writing Batman Begins with Christopher Nolan.
Tripple H did some damage during the fight scene. Ryan had some good injuries as he did all his own stunts. It was a few months after this Westley was put in jail for millions in unpaid taxes.
This one didn't quite hit as much as the first two films. What was your reaction to the third installment? What did we miss?

This and the Sam Raimi Spiderman movies had a chance to be great trilogies
Well, as Meat Loaf sang, two outta three ain't bad. But yeah, I prefer to think of them as duologies, even if I do find SOME things each deeply flawed third entry does right.
Welsey chocked out the director during the making of this movie. 😆
I can see why lol
The first time I saw this movie my first thought was "Ryan Renolds should play Deadpool." 😂
Love the reaction guys happy you enjoyed it ❤
Edit: 11:25 I love they added this moment he doesn’t show a lot of emotion but the scream after losing Whistler and laying down his sword knowing this time he’s really gone is pretty heartbreaking for years that was the only parent he knew.
I could be wrong, but i believe there was a deleted scene or an after credit where they wanted to introduce werewolves.
I like 2-1-3 as vampire movies. This ones just pure comedy gold tho and a lot of fun to watch.
This Dracula is Marvel Dracula, he’s fought the avengers and the X-men 😂
The fact the new Blade movie keeps haveing issues just saddens me. :(
Probably the fight coordination since they know the comparisons to Snipe's Blade is unavoidable.
Snipes himself indirectly roasted it lmao.
Parker Posey was also in Best In Show 😂
Major respect for y'all to finish off the trilogy.
She was extra sexy in this one
Loved her in Scream 3.
@@marcusmcgill4423 She was cool in a rom-com with Michael Sheen, Laws of Attraction, as well.
Blade also teamed up with Howard the duck
@@JasonKreider-eq8kp He's teamed up with a lot of people. But Dracula, Spider-Man, and Morbius are three of the most important characters in Blade's early history.
It's the crappy version of dracula in is one of many problens
@@DarthTingleBinks And Deacon Frost. The scientist version, not the film version.
@@DarthTingleBinksMan-Thing team up ftw!
Wesley Snipes was not happy with this movie at all. He didn’t like that he didn’t get much screen time, that Ryan Reynolds made a lot of jokes, etc.
Also, you guys messed up by not watching the extended version.
I actually like the third movie lol
Was waiting for this one to see your reaction to Triple H lol
The movie felt like a caricature of the first two, much like later Marvel movies feel like caricatures of the earlier ones i.e. Iron Man or Captain America vs Thor: Love and Thunder...
Disappointing ending to a banging trilogy.
I hope Daybreakers is on your list to watch!
Need to watch “ Queen of the damned” and “ Daybreakers”
For the most part, eschewing his vampirism, King continues to operate as a private detective, travelling freely only by night.[volume & issue needed]
King was introduced when he was seen confronting Dracula, the lord of Earth's vampires.
If you haven’t considered it. The Lost Boys is a very good vampire film, if not the best made please give it a thought
Deadpool should have one line where he mentions fighting vampires with a bad ass black dude once and make it official canon.
Maybe they can do a cameo for him if the blade movie ever comes out!
Guys should react to " Dracula untold"
Sadly, Wesley Snipes did not enjoy working on this film. So much so, that he supposedly communicated with the director via post-it notes only and stayed in his trailer almost the entire time. Also, A LOT of his scenes were shot with his stunt man where they could get away with it.
And what is STILL going wrong? lol
Y'all need to watch Queen of the Damned that movie is sooo good.
Oh man the soundtrack for that is the fucking best! Would love if they watched it!
Jessica did get into shape for this role but we really didn't see any of her fighting due to excessive cutting and editing. And killing vampires should have been a little more challenging and behind the scene drama among Wesley and Ryan and the director ensured bad quality of the overall movie.
Yeah Wesley was a total ass especially to Ryan Reynolds man was horrible to him what an ass
“Daybreakers” is a great vampire movie.
Ethan Hawke has an amazing performance.
Between Purcell's efforts (all kidding aside!) He sold it as Dracula. My thoughts, anyway.
But the REAL selling point..? Was that legendary line: "Blade. Ready to die...?" 😏
"I was BORN Ready, Mutha Fuckah..!"🤬
💯!
🤣🤣🤣✌🏼🌿💨
My guilty pleasure is liking Blade III 😃
Fired Up! is another great movie
Poor James Remar has been typecast since he was in "The Warriors". You guys should check out Innocent Blood, don't miss Don Rickles as a vampire.
An enjoyable but very much flawed conclusion lol
Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 🤘🙏
Yessssss 🙌🏾
Guys, you’ve done Twilight and Blade. How about doing other iconic films in the genre like What We Do in the Shadows and Let the Right One In.
Hi guys.. Maybe next "Smokin' Aces" 2006, amazing cast and very good film quality
Blade 3 was awesome 😎
Your assessment of this movie is pretty spot on and consistent with how we all or most people felt about this installment. Little too silly, casting Ryan Reynold and adding Whistlers daughter was a little odd. Not the best directing, not the best acting. It just didn’t connect with audiences. I personally liked Parker Posey’s character and acting the best. But overall the weakest of the three films.
i feel in love after this movie...jessica biel the goddess
Loved the kick counter, Oak 😂❤
Saw all 3 of these in theaters. Not perfect, but so so loved!
You guys need to watch the Resident Evil movies if you haven't already. They straight up took the dog mouth thing from this it feels like lol. Would love to see you watch them, underrated fun movies!
It's it just me or did anyone else got Parker Posey and Elizabeth Banks mixed up? Thought they were the same person for years lol
If there's anything nice I can say about this movie, especially compared to the other 2... it really does feel more like a comic book turned to a live action movie. I didn't look at the comments but this movie had a ton of production trouble, Wes knew it was going to be bad so he was hard to work with on this movie.
This movie gets so much hate but I love it!! Saw it in theaters and it was super fun. Enjoy boys!!
I am so disappointed that you guys knew that HHH was in this movie. I have been waiting for the reveal sin your Blade I review.
I love jessica biel in texaa chainsaw massacure (2003) w her in it its such a great remake. Hope you all react to it.
You guys gotta watch Fired Up since ur so in love with John Higgins
Oh my gosh yes
Though not for all and definitely the wackiest of the three, I still much enjoy this one - think I might have rewatched it the most actually, highly entertaining.
After your comment about the cop I realized that if you guys haven’t seen the show Dexter… you need to react to that.
That ending was news to me. I've only seen the Unrated edition, which has a different ending, and a better one IMHO.
David S. Goyer wrote all 3 films.
Trinity was his 2nd film as director.
Blade was one of many characters who debuted The Tomb of Dracula comics, became one of his leading foes and without question, Drac would be the main villain in
The original vision was post-apocalyptic with Dracula's return to power.
I fucking love this movie, it's what made me fall in love with Ryan Reynolds
I'm just going to say are you a twilight person or blade person?!! 🩵
I buy a French baguette every week.
I have bought several of those long breads. Makes good sandwiches:)
Tripple H did some damage during the fight scene. Ryan had some good injuries as he did all his own stunts.
It was a few months after this Westley was put in jail for millions in unpaid taxes.
