After having heard the entire discussion, I found it interesting. I also grew up in a church where there was no children's church or Sunday school for children. The children always attended "big church". Granted, many of us always sat in the back but we were there to know what was happening. I would not want to attend a church if my children were not allowed to attend "big church" if they wanted to or if we wanted them in service with us for some reason.

Please tell us, how exactly you used the discussions cards? Julie, your thoughts are very good. Thanks for this very good video. Great topics!
I am from Europe. I never knew, that your kids are not part of your weddings. I did not know such thing could be possible. I did not believe that at first. 😅

My heritage is Polish and at a Polish Wedding, kids are a major part of the Wedding. They are always around, they participated, then they were a major part of the celebration. To me a Wedding without your families kids is not a true Wedding.

Honestly, I had never heard of children being forbidden to attend a wedding. I always went to weddings when I was growing up, and I've never been to a wedding where there weren't children. Of course, I grew up in small-town Appalachia. I see no reason for children not to be allowed to attend a wedding.

Children have always gone to weddings in our family. My children & I have always gone to "big church". When my church started "children's church", my children still attended "big church" with our family. I'm probably older than your normal audience, but how else do children learn about life experiences if they don't get to experience them ? /

Kids should always be part of the audience because it's about family 🙏

I am 63 years old and have been to lots of weddings. Have never been to one where kids were not allowed. Don't know that I would go if I was invited to one were children aren't allowed. I live in Georgia. ❤

I have only been to one. No children was a drunken party. I left early.

Good morning Cissy. Listening to this and thought maybe you could create a live wedding and invite all children to attend to experience in live time, a play, just a suggestion.

I know of a professional couple who knew their children were not invited to a particular wedding, but chose to take them anyway. Didn't care about the couple's request.

I never heard of not having children at a wedding. It's not something we do in the Hispanic/Puerto Rican community. Everyone I know would not attend a wedding if they could not bring their children to a wedding. Children are part of the family.

'morning Cissie, a question not a comment....why do you call children "kids". Is it an American thing.? Would parents then be referred to as "goats" ? That would surely go down like a lead balloon.
This might not sound like it but I really do enjoy your discussions and really admire you for addressing some very awkward topics .

It's a southern thing. Children are called kids. Baby goats are called baby goats.
