For those who are wondering why the dances of the Scots and Irish are similar to ours the English intelligence officer James Bell lived in the Circassian villages for three years, from 1837 to 1839. He left written observations of traditional dances, songs, musical instruments, in which he repeatedly pointed out the identity between the Circassian and Scottish music: “If I didn’t know anything about them (Circassian melodies) and I was asked what they represent, I would answer:“ Old Scottish songs ”. ["Journal of a residence in Circassia during the years 1837, 1838, and 1839", Bell James Stanislaus, 1840.] There is also an Irish dance called the "Circassian circle", of course it is not the same as ours, but there are similar moments, but neither we nor the Irish need to be accused of stealing, after all, we have very similar stories with the Celts (we experienced it ourselves bad empires) and places of residence, these are mountains and foothills
Doesn't really matter.. your dances/costumes/dancers are still exquisitely and uniquely beautiful! Another wonderful example here: th-cam.com/video/F4nczjS0j30/w-d-xo.html
I Totally love this and I dont know why. The closest is that I feel a deep connection; it touches my soul somehow, but I have no ethnic connection here... It does not matter this, music and dance are positively life affirming.... Love it... I will keep learning about this beautiful population... Much love from USA

You may already know that the Ubykhs were one of the thirteen original Circassian tribes of the Caucasus before the Russian policy of decimation and subjugation under Czar Alexander II caused a mass migration of Ubykhs into Turkey along with other Circassians. Some Ubykhs also settled in Palestine at that time and later became Israeli citizens. Although, they still have their own distinct community there.
