I have a 1501 and it’s a sweet Rolex! The engine turned bezel is so well done! I have a 1968 version and my master watchmaker got it timed to within 1-2 sec/day! Astonishing timekeeping from its 1570 movement! You can wear this watch to a dinner party, beach party, or climbing a mountain in the wilderness; any way, this robust Rolex is perfect for the challenge!
This is also my first Rolex, just bought it yesterday. Since first saw this I already fall in love from the first sight! It's elegant, unique and affordable ❤ And what I like people will not recognise that I am wearing Rolex, very low profile watch 🥰
Does sound like a lot of justification for the expensive purchase. You can get all these features for a few hundred. ...but this is a super nice watch!
Excellent video congratulations, I have some questions: is that watch automatic movement ? and how many hours will last without movement ? Where may I buy some parts of the belt to expand it ? Which is the estimated price of that watch ? Thanks
I've been trying to get a watch for my dad's uncle (the only male survivor in his side of the family) and nothing comes close to the elegance of Rolexes. But they're sooo cheap, I can't afford them.
The photo with the lume glowing was a very long exposure and I also enhanced the glow in post-production and used a very powerful light to trigger the phosphor in the lume.
@@SillyVintageWatches it has been relumed for sure. I have one from 1965. I was hesitating with the 1500, the flat bezel is also very nice and classy, maybe less sporty than the engine turned bezel. What do you think of it?
Nowadays you can buy a nice automatic watch that is water resistant that is only a couple of bucks. They aren't Rolex's though. Congratulations on your purchase of this watch.
The 1575 movement in this 1501 has not. It has instant jumping date at night and a hacking function. This version of the OPD has not yet a quick set date. Believe me, i tried. Later versions with upgraded movements have.

This too was my first Rolex as well for the reason of wanting one, with time it grew on me to the point of loving it truly
I have a 1976 that was my dads.
I fully restored it and wear it daily. Feels great making $$$ with it knowing he did as well almost 45 years ago

How much did it cost?
Very nice!!c I own the same one, mine was manufactured in 2004. I have worn it everyday and love it!!! Great choice !
Me too haha. A 15210
That 34 on your wrist looks like a 42 on mine. Point being you have so many more options.
You are right, but I will also never own a current Rolex big-case model since they are all too big. Same with 42-43 IWCs, Panerais etc.

Looks like your dial and hands have been either replaced or relumed. A watch that old shouldn’t glow as they used tritium back then
100% relume or replace.
Actually, I think he used a black light which makes the tritium lume stand out like that.

Nice video. What is your wrist size?
Hi, its about 17cm.
@@SillyVintageWatches Thank you.
Im torn between a 1501 or a 15000, any suggestions will be much appreciate it!
Nice watch btw
Just got my 1500 yesterday and its amazing, highly recommend!
Is the dial champagne or cream / ivory? Doesn't look white
It's pretty much perfect silver. Same color as the case.
@@SillyVintageWatches Thanks. I'm thinking of getting the 1007. The no date on it won me over this model. Also cuz im a big fan of 007 ;)
