- There has been a ton of hype with bait and lure rigging for forward facing sonar especially with the Hover Rig. Gambler's new FF Series Hover Hook makes setting up a Hover Rig pretty simple with no need for a nail weight. We test this bait to see if it catches bass as well as many anglers say.

Dude matt Stefan made this rig months ago...started a tackle company called core tackle to sale them..but the fishing industry is a copycat industry so it was only a matter of time before someone else made em..Its awesome to see your excitement about it tho... nothing but love dude

I've been fishing core tackle hover rig for a couple months now and it works great. knockoffs always happen.

Core Tackle was the first to make those and the originator of them and Core has them in weedless. However this happens every company will have them soon it's just part of it i guess.

That's a killer rig but man...ive always had respect for you and this is not a gambler design. Matt Stefan designed and it's been made for over a year and selling for about 6 months. So y'all should at the very minimum give credit and say that your design is based off of his. This is a bummer because I usually respect you'd stuff but dang...this is the most obvious bite ever

Hey look... it's a(nother) jig hook with lead wire wrapped around the shaft and a wire extension to keep the hook on.
I caught 21 bass on it Monday!! Biggest was 7.5lbs. It definitely works!!

Tackle Warehouse has many sizes and weights coming from gambler. This is just a Jighead to go with the forward facing minnow style baits that have opened a new tackle market,that has exploded due to the use of forward facing sonar.before we had these good hook offerings it was lite wire crap for panfish that opened up on 2lb fish.I am.glad there are competitors in hooks. If we all sourced from 1 dealer,there would never be any in stock items.and only a few would have access to these jig heads,and thus have a edge over other anglers.
At least it's not nearly identical, like the Nessie is to the Flag. Gambler's version is different in design but it essentially does the same thing the same way. However, Core Tackle's original design has yet to obtain a utility patent.

Everyone's trying to dick measure who came up with the rig first. Folks the rig came out years ago in Japan; Matt Stefan didn't invent it. And he didn't invent the first jig head to suit the technique either; TT lures already has a Hidden Weight system jig head that produces the same results and they came up with it years ago as well.

Bought the core tackle's when they were released, tried them again this eve and nothing. But there was some wind and bait wouldn't stay down.

try the Tush. Core Tackle makes one that is 3/4 oz. and has a beefy hook.

Take a jig hook and insert it into your elaztech fluke. Poke a hole through the bait side to side. Insert a dumbbell weight, tungsten or lead, through the hole. The elaztech holds the weight. Superglue if needed. No expensive hooks. Let's you use tungsten. More compact and shows better on your FFS. Done.
Also lets you fish in Massachusetts where lead < 1OZ illegal

Is this that much different than putting a nail weight in the nose and using a small #1 jig hook?
the original Hover Rig Hook wont tear out as easily. It can make a soft plastic bait last longer than usual. But there is a slight advantage to using a nail weight, because the nail weight is easier to rig closer to the bottom, off the hook, for a lower center of gravity.
@@secretbassrigsI still use a nail weight occasionally with my Hover Rig hooks...usually if I want a slightly faster fall rate or to correct those cases where the Hover Rigged bait is top-heavy and wants to roll over when you stall it.

I’m struggling to see mine
there are scents that add more sonar reflectivity for that reason. Addressing the "copies", the Senko is a specific formula.plastic and salt, and the shape/dimensions hasn't been exactly knocked off. Also did Yamamoto get a utility patent on it? Either way, sometimes it's a marketing strategy to not seek IP property rights. But Matt Stefan said if the knock off won best of show at ICAST they'd make a big deal about it. But if you cant afford the originals, then you really have no choice.

@@rynosplace7041 they're two different hooks. TUSH stands for The Ultimate Swimbait Hook and has about a 60° line tie on the tip of the shank. The Hover Rig is the one this is a copy of and it has a 90° line tie, set back from the tip (and a weedguard).
