Kerala gov contribution 5500 cr for this project, adani contribution 2500, and central gov gave 800. Total budget of around 9000cr for now seeing 1st phase. Phase 2,3,4 are yet to be constructed by 2028-2029 deadline. This port has a natural birth depth of 20 metrs which no other ports in india have which can easily bring in the worlds biggest motherships like MSC IRINA etc. This port also stands in a strategical point of just 10 notical miles from international shipping route which will help reduce whole indias logistics cost and boost our economy.( China owning one of the ports in colombo - srilanka tells the importance of this port in future geopolitical conflicts)

India needs deepwater ports in Gujarat/karnataka/Maharashtra in west and Odisha/Andhra/TN in east. We should have atleast 3 deepwater ports

Deepwater port cannot be constructed artificially, it has to be natural only then it has a financial gain.. India doesn't have deepwater ports, except veezhinam... Veezhnum is actually a reply to china's srilankan love.. If india going to invest in veezhnum the whole logistical structure of asia will change..This is just tip of iceberg

For ur info.. deep water port is natural. It's only available in vizhinjam in entire india. Hence it won't be there anywhere else. All lands have its own natural perks right. Embrace Kerala since it's also in India.

It would b great if we could have setup an industrial cluster near port. Only problem with this port is, its located Kerala. Not just geographically, because there isn't much land near sea and then comes mountains but even if land is available, u won't b able to acquire it and even if u acquire it, its impossible to do business in Kerala because of their weird communist govt., whether they r communist parties or Congress both have poor track record when it comes to economy & business but hey this is what people of Kerala wants, we have to respect that.

Kerala"s stupidity of not completing this port has come to an end. This has been envisaged many many years ago. As usual kerala created trouble to all issues of good prospects for kerala, to a delay with absolute political stupidity. Singapore port has been a classic example of the prospects. Surprisingly, dirty politics and even dirty christian religious churches were part of the delay of the port.
