Your insane. turtle wow has some of the worst pvp balance of any private server to have existed. So much so that the entire horde player base has quit the server, itsd like 92% ally 8% horde right now.
Casually playing BG's though the OG vanilla, TBC and the Wrath I can tell you one of the biggest things that made me quit the game was pre-mades. The sweat level of premades increased over the years to the point if you went up against one, even if you wanted to play your team would just wait at the GY until the match was over. I want to be able to jump in and out of a BG and vs others doing the same, it is such a different experience to jump in and go against a coordinated group of raid bosses. The reason it got like this was because a win was worth 3 times as much as a loss which is pretty big.
@@H-D-D I didn’t say for no work… I said that it shouldn’t require an inhumane and unhealthy amount of time. PvE players don’t have to spend inhumane and unhealthy amounts of time to get their gear. Why do PvP players have to do that then?
@@Vladi.G The other side of the issue is that pve players get like, 24 pieces of loot per raid between 40 people, meanwhile rankers get one rank 1 spot per 300 people, and it takes like 4 weeks of holding a rank 1 spot to actually get to r14, so you're looking at 4 weeks for one piece of loot per 300 people. So not only is the work insanely higher, it's also far less evenly distributed.
I like turtle wow because there's no one there playing like a meta pro. It makes the game more fun when you don't have to play like a sweaty classic Andy

ret paladins on turtle are insane idk what youre talking about. no flame but since you play one you probably dont see it, but paladins in general have been given so many buffs and positive changes on turtle. otherwise i agree with your points. love turtle wow pvp, world pvp is so fun and the class balance changes have been mostly good
They could just have a seperate que for premades where you only face off with other premades. But that's not the focus of people who join premades. They want to stomp on a bunch of randos with no communication or leadership, because it's easy. You know how I learned to stop backpeddling? I removed the hotkey for backwards. The only thing I could do was straffe or run forward. After about a week of that I turned it back on but the muscle memory was set.
I can't tell if I like the no premading or not, because I see value to both sides. Maybe if they made it possible to where premades could only face other premades that would be nice? I feel like using engineering and pots in vanilla pvp gives it some crazy fun. I've seen a lot of rogue videos where like they are countering other rogues with cats eye goggles and doing crazy things with bombs and resetting stealth and I feel like without that engineering stuff the skill ceiling goes down a lot and if you use them in a bg you would probably be labeled a tryhard and get a bunch of hate on the server.
Do you think Holy Priests have any chance at PvP or is gear inflation that high where you just get instagibbed? I reckon ele shamans can probably global people anyway, let alone clothies, but I am wondering which healer would be a nice pvp/pve option, excluding maybe Paladin since there seems to be an obscene amount of them around.
I would say there's always a spot for healers in BGs especially with this super heavy offense meta. Disc Priests are still kings in PvP, Holy Paladins are great but only with warriors
Remove Premades fine but competitive WSG and AB are amazing aspects of vanilla wow and perhaps some rated BG type premade vs premade should be introduced?

Pre-made groups are the only groups that can create content in open world, they should be funneled out of bgs for that reason, + pre-made is hell for casuals
This is a rppve server these are not people who are going to be too cracked at pvp, that being said alliance has far more low skill players because they have way more players i think the latest ratio is like close to 70/30. They roll alliance because they want to be a paladin or just not be up against paladins, they heard it was op. Horde is where actual pvp players or people who want to be up against noobs go to pvp..in my opinion based on observations made playing on this server for about 2 years.
Really curious your thoughts on Ret. Frankly from my limited experience (hardcore, currently level 20) stuff like SoC being level 30 feels fricken awful + I don't even understand the point of crusader strike. It's honestly making me kind of disappointed cause I feel like standard ret from classic wow is better lol, but hoping you can shed some light on the subject in time. Great video
They approach paladin kind of bad leveling wise, yes. Seal of Command at 30 is a kick in the nuts for sure. But Protection... oh my god it's so fast to level with it.

It took me 2 months of 40hours a week to get from r4 --> r12. I imagine it would be another 4-5weeks on top of that if i managed to convince the other rankers to get me s1 or s2 - which i doubt. Still out of reach of a person with a fulltime job and fiancé i think! ...that was also at 1200 players, at 5000 it might be even worse

Something to keep in mind: Paladin's are the new hotness for PvE. They're the one Hybrid class that the devs truly delivered on a balanced rework. To the point where you can step into all content with any spec and be viable or better. Druids still can't go boomkin and can't tank once you get into harder content (no weapon scaling means they fall behind on threat generation). And Shamans... oooof! PvE-wise they're still stuck with resto... only it's not REAL resto. You go down enhancement for bloodlust and gear resto. Because Paladin's can viably get into all content as all specs. There's simply so damn many people playing Paladin. That's going to have a trickle-down effect on PvP. Where, their rework was NOT targeted towards as a PvE server. So, while Shaman may be struggling with viability in their DPS specs for raiding. Their RNG-swingy imbalance can shine brightly in battlegrounds. Since their core issue isn't in dealing damage. Their core issue is in mana efficiency and sustained output. Which doesn't matter in pvp.
Which class is the over all best solo world pvp class on turtle ? Still rogues, sl warlocks and 0.1% insane skilled hunters, like in classic and 1.12 vanilla wow or ??

Exactly, paladin is the most busted shit on this server pvp wise. Like they were strong in basic vanilla as a 1v1 class but they literally kill you in 3 sec with 3 secs left on HOJ stun on turtle. Im sitting in literally full tier 2 mail and lose 80% in one holy strike crit.
I was the 6th R14 on my server as a warrior. I was on a more medium/high population server. I was solo the entire time and on my server AV was meta for longer because it took longer for people to switch to the WSG premade meta. In AV I would sneak into areas where I would win 1v1s over and over again until there 3 of them showed up because it gave more honor then sitting by the group pushing foward. With eng and consumables you shouldn't be losing any fights against the average/below average players unless they just have way more gear. The player needs to know how to play in order to beat a warrior but a majority are clueless so GL, once you get your charge and hamstring on them it should be over most of the time unless they have more gear.
Gross your a paladin. Random ques are fine, and I don't think that was specifically them I remember trying to que at the same time with my friends in nilla. More important is no battlnet pvp so you get to learn who you play against. The server has a meh rule set which is why they are planning a real pvp server. Pvpers can go warmode and be permaflagged which allows pvers to try to farm them.

Lvl 60 vanilla premades v premades is the greatest thing about vanilla bgs, having to force people to play with people who have no brain cells is not fun for me at least.
I see your point but premades allow only meta picks, no classes and specs that are underperforming, it's in a sense delusional elitism incarnate. Think about it, skill on wow classic is not synonymous with your Rank, you just play too much and be rewarded. Meanwhile you have other specs like Ret and Enhancement that have no spot in these premades and they are incredibly tough to execute because of the RNG of it.

Ranking is the worst system ever designed in a MMORPG. It literally just rewards inhumane and unhealthy amounts of game time.

I agree, I never saw a Feral or an Enha do any good. Meanwhile Paladins are top 10 in the fights.

Yeah, having cross faction raiding and dungeons but no cross factions pvp is meh considering how bad the horde pop is.
