    I had an auto mechanic say that he would change my cabin air filter for $25. I bet him a free oil change if he couldn't find it. I sure liked the free oil change!!!!

    Don't watch this and cheat on the old 2oo5 ford. Your a ford man as I told myself. Go find it yourself I told myself. After I ripped my dash out I finally watched the video. Thanks for the video. It was a great help.

    I watched the video because I thought I'd been missing something in the 10+ years I've had my truck. Thanks for the vid

    Anyone who owns one of these trucks should send a girl in it to their local mechanic if they don't do their own work. Have her ask the mechanic to change the cabin air filter. See if she gets charged for a cabin air filter or not. LOL.... A good honesty test for the local mechanic.

    2024-FALL/September; took my glove compartment down and was confused to try and check the cabin filter condition since I've never changed it; my truck 2008 F150 XLT 4.2l and found this video and mystery solved. Thanks much

    This whole time it's been one of those things on my bucket list to do but now I find out oddly should've never been on my list only if other stuff on my bucket list would turn-out like this

    I have an 04 Expedition, which as you know is mostly the same thing as your F150. For 18 yrs I wondered why it has no cabin air filter, then I saw the title of this video and fell out of my chair. Until I realized I had been tricked... Cabin air filters on my 17 Explorer and 19 F150 are a PIA to swap out, but it actually does make the interior smell better.

      Haha sorry 😂 I have seen that as so much over the years that I figured "tricking" people would be the best way to confirm the actual answer for them. It's silly ford went so many years without it. The filter works excellent on my mustang and other vehicles I've been around over the years.

    Thanks 3V Johnny! I have a 2004 NON-Heritage and have been searching for something that doesn't exist. SO, HOW CAN I spray Lysol into the fan and freshen up the cabin?

    • @3VJohnny
      @3VJohnny  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So around your windshield wiper cowl area, there is an air intake for your HVAC. When I first bought my truck way back in 2009, it did have a bit of a musty smell. I sprayed Lysol in there and it never came back after that and that was quite some years ago.
      The key with the mildew smell is often condensation in the HVAC system, especially from people who just shut the vehicle off with the AC turned on. Instead, it's best to shut the AC off as you get close to your destination to let the vehicle pull from fresh air outside before shutting it down.

      @@3VJohnny Oh...I just thought of something else...I'm putting LEDs in my 04 F150 dash panel but I can't locate a diagram that tells which of the 10-11 sockets is for ( i.e.) Turn signals or Odometer lamp, (etc). Could you point me to a link for that, please?

    There isn’t a cabin filter.
    It’s a main filter under the hood. A sliding tray

    So, what does a person do if the air coming from the vents has a stanky smell then???

    • @3VJohnny
      @3VJohnny  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There could be different reasons for that. Here is something I learned years ago and it has worked every time.
      I had the same issue when I bought my truck and my Mustang because people often use the air conditioner and shut it right off when the vehicle gets shut off. If you're using the air conditioning, when you start to get within a mile or two of your destination shut it off and keep the blower on so that the system is able to suck in clean air. If you don't I believe it gets condensation and can grow mold. Make sure recirculation is off.
      You can start your vehicle and turn the air conditioning on and spray Lysol at the intake for the HVAC system under the hood. That has solved any issues I've had in the past and then I follow the above every time and have never had it come back.

      You need to get under the truck and check the dipstick that's located next to the exhaust "O" pipe.
