Brilliant again Kieran!
Was running railway pub in runcorn day of the Roses gig remember hundreds of fans coming off runcorn Station straight into the pub sold some burgers that day 😊
Great video Kieran, I have ridden that stretch of the canal many times. My work overlooked the power station and was at work the day the cooling tower fell down. Used to cycle past the towers everyday. Took ages to rebuild, so said they will felled in seconds next weekend.
Good info Kieran, I've never been much along that way, my Dad worked at British Aluminium for over 30 years, I sometimes used to drop him off at the Patten when he was going on Night turn, we used to nip in sometimes for a quick pint before he started work, but I never knew much about Warrington or Widnes! some very interesting facts thank you!!
Gonna be gutted to see them go. They are like the Winter Hill mast and as soon as I see them I feel like I am home. I've climbed so many hills in the north west and from so many of them they are the first landmark in sight I use to tell what I'm looking towards. Cycled past them many times and often wild camped in the Peak District and looked far out at them at sunset.
Cheers Kieran, top bimbling, as usual. I did do most of that ride myself but it was bone dry and dusty, so the pint at The Ferry was most welcome. :-) It will be a strange landscape when the power station goes, it seems to have been there for ever! Good luck for the next one. (Al Kennett)
Its going to change a lot of things when it goes. I won't be able to head towards it to get home. Ha
Carry on and you are on Chester Road
Have a bimble across the woolston eys to Liverpool
Nice trip out Kieran. I really enjoyed seeing the smaller boats in their scruffy autumn/winter livery. And the remains of the old wooden craft sticking out of the mud were beautifully shot. You've whet my appetite for a long overdue ride along the River Trent towards the end of this week.
I reckon that lady's Patterdale at the very beginning wanted a piece of you! 😂
Its the furry microphone on the camera. Ha
Im from Warrington too...i dont see many people on ebikes to be fair 👍🏻
Super vid....memories of walking t mersey way back in 2022....great views and learnt even more ThanX
On a clear day, Could see the steam from Fiddlers Ferry towers from the hills here in North East Wales.
Wowsers :)
@@BimblismUK its not that far to be honest, As crow flies. 30 miles max
Another top Bimble Kieran ,
And as usual so informative .
Thought you might find this interesting....you mentioned the attempt to get the cooling towers of fiddlers ferry power station listed...we had a similar attempt here in Telford to do the same with the decommissioned Ironbridge power station. You see the cooling towers of the said power station were unique in that they were pink and not the usual concrete grey colour as normal. The story goes that the project architect climbed the local hill namely the Wrekin, to get an over view of the site and noticed that the local fields were prominently sandy coloured and so he stipulated that the concrete should be stained similarly so as to blend the towers into the landscape. Needless to say despite their uniqueness the listing was not granted and the site is now destined to a village sized development
Great info :)

Nice Kieran, I can see Fiddlers Ferry from the Cheesden Valley above Bury.
