Thank you so much! 6 years later this video is still helping people. Every other video I watched said you needed a razor blade but a blow dryer does the trick. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
On vintage cars if you don’t want to ruin your rubbers with heat guns, soak cosmetic pads in fabric softener and sit them on the stickers for half the day and carefully use a blade of to close to the rubbers and wipe off gum with pads as well. Then clean up with auto glass cleaner.
I removed a window vinyl decal off my car a year or two ago and wahsed it. It has been washed multiple times afterwards and I still have a print of the vinyl on my window that will not come off.. all of the adhesive and glue has came off but it's still a print there and won't leave
That's a level 1 tack vynil decal. It takes more heat or shallow scrapping with a level 2 vinyl decal. Never spot heat vynl on glass, this can cause the glass to shatter (especially if it's cold out). Move the heat in sweeping motions across the vynl to a surface temperature of no more than 120F. There's a few different techniques for removing vynl depending on the type of vinyl and the substrate it's on. Like this technique for removing this type of vynl on a automotive window.
