Angling times published an article saying our section of river was full of Bream --two months after they had moved out.. they also said they were up to 7lb--when a 4lb one is a good one on there.
Fish always move into town centres in the winter. More food warmer water and more protection from predators. Make the most of it and enjoy the venue as fishing works in cycles and won't last forever. Portadown Town centre on the river bann used to be like this for roach in the 80,s. Now a pale shadow.

Not true I'm afraid. They'll seek sheltered water, it doesn't have to be in a town centre though.

Maybe the fish know that there’s a lot of anglers fishing it constantly? There’s lots of food always going in.
