P.S. You do realise your set up for your pumpkin patch, that is thriving, is used in countries who are looking to.grow saplings for landscape restoration?
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I’m a fan of sweet potatoes. Yummy in many ways. Really wet here too in South East Queensland. Getting too wet to even drive the all terrain vehicle due to pasture damage. Still better than drought :-)
Awesome!! Mulch mulch mulch 😊 If people are new to the mulch concept and want to know in more detail why it works so good for any garden I can recommend this recent video that is called, The Power and Virtues of Mulches, from the UC Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology. The video shows an excellent demonstration by a gentleman with years of experience about why mulch is so important, and what type of mulch to use in certain circumstances, and so on. I found it very informative. Of course there are plenty more sources of information about this subject. But this will get anyone started.
Yes, mulch is a real winner. I am absolutely sold on it. Will check out that video and also link a non technical video I did on mulch th-cam.com/video/xz7RMC3jmfg/w-d-xo.html
Great videos mate, keep up the good work. Very informative and the common sense farming tips are priceless. The Mrs and I just bought 49 acres north of Bundy and have picked up so many good tips and strategies for when we move a couple weeks from now cheers mate
Thanks very much mate - I appreciate the feedback. Good luck with your future farm and everything it has to offer. Bundy”s a nice spot with good rainfall. All the best.
Good stuff! It's always interesting to see how folks grow in different parts of the world. I watch Self-Sufficient Me pretty regularly, and owe him a beer for turning me on to that Prong digger. If you haven't got one for your arsenal there at the homestead, I highly recommend it - and it's Aussie-made, to boot! Best tool I've come across in a very long time.
@Selfsufficientme is an awesome channel. Mark knows his stuff. I know a little about lots of things but I'm no expert. Have seen the tool you mentioned, will have to have another look at it.
Off topic to this video- i've noticed some pixelation in your videos(in the highest quality 1080p)- is it a recoding setting your using? And is anyone else finding the same?
Agree - We do get pixelation from time to time and have been trying to figure out what is going on. I use my iPhone 12 to record it at 1080P and have used another more modern iPhone but still get it. We normally "What's app" the videos from phone to computer and then import them into Davinci Resolve which does modify the frame rate on adding them. I have tried many settings and have not been about to "resolve it". Still a work in progress but if you can think of anything else I should try, would be happy to get your thoughts. I appreciate your feedback.
3 - 6 months, not 9 months to grow these sweet potatoes.
Your plot looks very productive.
Gday Rob, sure is. I'm really enjoying that garden; it just produces and produces. We have sweet potatoes up already would you believe.
@@queenslandfarmer no way. They are sprouting already?

I'll post a picture in the community tab this week to show :-)
I didn't know that.
Sweet potatoes are full of fibre, tasty when roasted in olive oil, and, an aid to slimming - what's not to like! From a wringing wet UK!

Great point!
