This race between Goldfish and Kruncha was fantastic, but I really enjoyed Spike's concurrent Let's Play of the game. Good runs over all. ;)
It's like Spike was doubling up on couch duties
That just shows you how good Spike is. Sure, he wasn't *winning*, but he's good enough to keep up his own run while watching the other two screens and commentating on them, all at the same time.
He's a born entertainer with a big personality, I wouldn't have it any other way!
Honestly, you got to respect him for still somewhat keeping up despite how much he’s talking. That does take skill.

Great run, and major kudos to Punchy for actually following through with the DK Rap. Considering he had no prior knowledge of it and had to google his way through that whole exchange, he really delivered.

Spike's the only commentator I could probably name off the top of my head, never actually seen him run before! Glad to see that doesn't stop him from commentating!

A shame this is on Funky Mode, I enjoyed the tricky movement with Cranky, not to mention the interesting routing with the 3 different kongs.
But that's awesome that Retro actually took out the RNG from the bosses, I can't believe they cared about the speedrunning scene that much, love it.
If Nintendo added a quick character selector, maybe toggle it to L/R on the world map, then that would *totally* open up the run, and all the Kongs would be getting lots of play. They mentioned a few times that Funky isn't actually the fastest for all the stages, but he's the fastest overall since the menuing is so slow.
Agreed. Faster, but less interesting and challenging.

I feel like it's kinda rare to see a race at GDQ where the positions actually change, one person usually pulls ahead early then keeps it to the end, this one was much closer.
You would enjoy watching the tag team race of tropical freeze of canada vs usa. That was epic!
I love this game and was looking forward to this run a lot.
Great work by all of the runners. They made it look easy, but this game stays true to it's origins and continues the tradition of hard DKC games. Best platformer I've played in 10 years.

I gotta say, I'm really missing the wicked crazy Cranky cane bounces that the players had to do before Funky Mode became a thing.

Funky Mode; too cool to be ashamed to use, unlike a few other 'easy modes', *cough* White Tanooki *cough*.
Geoffrey Wilson funky mode is still fun to play and doesn’t remove the entire challenge of the game

??? This game is a masterpiece. Beautiful music, mountains of personality, perfect game design, and it's extremely difficult but entirely fair.
Probably the best Donkey Kong Country game ever. You should give it another shot
