    Great job Joe. As long as your careful where you sew, the heated shirt is a great idea. And "Real Men" do whatever they need to do to get the job done

    That’s a bargain! As you say, those heated jackets are ridiculously expensive. The DeWalt ones are a bloody fortune, I’d rather shiver. 😆

    Great idea with the heated shirt! I have looked into heated soles recently, but the price tag is usually hefty. Doing this would be so much easier, maybe not for the feet, but for the price... Thanks for sharing, Joe! (And don't get me started about Maker Central... I so wish I could be there!)

      Im sure these could be adapted for lots of different clothing items. Sorry you cant make it to Makers Central mate. Maybe the next one 👍

    best place is actually on the back, by your lower spine. I have been using those stick on heat pads, but may well make myself this version instead to save me keep buying them..!

    Joe, great idea about the shirt. I was just concerned about you sewing through the heating element and damaging it and in turn you. Could you feel where the element was inside the pad?

    • @AverageJoesJoinery
      @AverageJoesJoinery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate! Yeah the element is quite prominent to feel. The space a long the edge have a large area with no wires and then on the side that cross over the elements its easy skip where the wire is

  • @johnwilliams1745
    @johnwilliams1745 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Joe, Try putting the heating pad on the back of the shirt to sit over your kidneys. Heat can penetrate into your core more efficiently and warm you up a little more easily.
    Cheers.

    • @AverageJoesJoinery
      @AverageJoesJoinery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a great tip thanks John! I was thinking of getting another pad for the back. Suppose you could add a few haha

      Average Joe's Joinery unless you're out in it all day long up scaffolds and things or high rise builds without any glazing they're not worth the money. I had a really bad winter on a job before I bought one.

    And thanks for the shout out :D

    • @AverageJoesJoinery
      @AverageJoesJoinery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Ellen! I believe it works similar to an electric blanket. Wires offering resistance and heating up. Watching you videos made me want to have a go on the sewing machine haha
