I know this is an old video but I've been sifting through turbo ram videos lately and this came up. That crew cab is goals to me. I just cannot find much info on turbo builds for our trucks which is annoying because a turbo is the direction i want to go with my 8 speed ram.
@@contractor556 I ended up finding the on3 kit not long ago but after putting together a parts list i realized i could build 3 LS motors for the price of 1 Hemi lol.
Hoping for a response, I have a 2016 Ram Rebel. 5.7L V8 I've already installed: Sport AWE exhaust S&B Cold Air Intake Throttle body spacer Diablo Tune with 93 octane tune. I have someone who says he can install a "turbo kit 78 mm producing over 550 hp, comes with intercooler, exhaust manifolds, fuel pump, and headers" for about $4k. And new I'll need to install new fuel injectors. Is this a realistic expectation? Is there anything else I should replace? What should I expect as a result?

Both badass trucks ..Shane maybe a little lighter , he also has a turbo 400 in it and may have the ac removed Can t wait to see them both get an all out pass .. Matt going 138mph definitely makes some power
I’ve seen Shane comment somewhere he’s a 400ci stroker. I think it depends on build and overall goals. I personally love a turbo over a supercharger but when done right they both can do insane things. Both are impressive trucks. I think he’s gonna do better with the Borg Warner over that VS Racing turbo. I hope to be right there with them when I’m done. All the same day, same truck will be interesting!
Incredible Hemi not much really. Just got the alternator relocation bracket made. Now to put together the minor stuff and start it up. Then I have to buy a new laptop and software so I can log and load tunes. Still using HPT. But right now I’m going through a divorce so it’s slowing me down from finishing faster with these extra expenses.
I'm a turbo guy, you're making power with exhaust which you're getting rid of anyways. It's expensive but I would love to do it. By the way, how far north do you think you can one of those Cammed Ram hoodies?
This is a good discussion. I feel if you use the truck for everyday use I would go turbo ( TWIN ) Turbos give you stronger Mid and upper HP gains. If I was building a rock crowler or stump puller id go Supercharger. More power at lower RPMs to Mid RMPs.
My choice would be Supercharger. That is if I was to do forced induction. I am seeing the advertisement of 120 plus horse to rear wheels and torque numbers close to 120 also. Plus, I take the appearance parts in to consideration. Superchargers look better than an ugly turbo and the exhaust plumbing. That is just my opinion.
JUSTARAM Whipple and Spray? There is a 2014 5.7L Single Cab ST that is on the Lot that I'm thinking of buying. Think I'll put some Headers, dual Borla Exhaust, Whipple S/C kit, and a 50 wet shot. I don't have a Strip near me, it'll just be a cruiser.
What a waste of time. Those arnt even hemi rams anymore. They’re just built strokers at that point. The title should say built ram stroker turbo bs supercharger.
If you want a high end power, ho for turbo. If you want a overall power, go for a supercharger.
Have a supercharger in my '16 Tahoe. 450 horse power
And if you want it to be reliable go supercharger

Smaller cube turbo motor with a strong valvetrain turning way higher rpms will go a ways longer than a stroker motor with a blower
Both motors are stoked one is just 6.4 422 n the other is 5.7 based 395
Incredible Hemi I know, I personally would stick with the 5.7 turbo and rev the piss out of it. I’m not a big fan of stroker motors

that and Weight all the plumbing, for an All out Race deal, Turbo is hard to beat, but When was the last time you saw a Turbo in Top Fuel
Idk whose fab work you’ve seen , but turbo kits look like tig art , when done right
90% of the time if you have two similarly built vehicles the turbo will outperform the supercharger.
Supercharger takes power to make power

Aftermarket exhaust or straight piped are easy ways to gain noise if wanted. If an aggressive sound is your goal 👍

A turbocharged is a supercharger, it’s a turbo supercharger.
