Especially when they're telling you nothing is wrong, test after test comes back normal, and essentially you're being gaslit about your own symptoms. (My regular gp didn't even notice it in my blood tests, it took my gender clinic dr to point it out, now I'm waiting for my tests in september to know for sure)
My ex threw that in my face left me cheated on me lost my memory was very sick took both vehicles gave it to his girlfriend and left me without a vehicle so now I’m driving my kids car in a pandemic it’s been a hot mess.
About 5 years ago, my wife was feeling extreme fatigue, depressed, gaining weight, losing her hair, couldn’t get off the couch, and felt like she was always coming down with a cold. She would cry for no reason and was miserable. Turns out she has hashimotos hypothyroidism. Over the years she’s tried levotheroxine, nature, and armour, and finally name brand Synthroid, which is the only medication that has worked but she didn’t feel 100%. Doc tried adding B12 shots and testosterone cream for energy but still not a lot of difference. She’s been so upset she can’t lose the weight and says she hates her body and doesn’t recognize herself when she looks in the mirror. After 5 years a new endocrinologist recommended adding T3 along with her Synthroid and she’s noticing a difference already. She also dropped the most inflammatory foods from her diet, under the recommendation of a nutritionist (gluten, sugar and dairy). She’s feeling like exercising again and has more energy. It’s been a long, hard battle but she’s getting there and you will too. Love and hugs!
Thank you for writing this, I am in this same situation and not liking myself, memory loss, lots of weight gain, depressed, no energy, high anxiety and to add a diagnosis with Lupus. Still working on medicines, I am scheduled for an ultrasound this week to see what is happening with my thyroid. Best wishes ahead.
Unfortunately just T4 is oftentimes ineffective but some doctors just automatically prescribe that form through cookie cutter treatment approach. Am glad your family is recovering.
I'm going through this right now and started crying when you did. That is where I am right now. I'm so miserable. And I feel like I am making a big deal of nothing, but I literally can't get over the fatigue.
Was diagnosed four years ago, my first doctor told me to see a psychiatrist because I "had to be crazy." Turns out, I have Hashimoto's AND I had cancer, so they had to remove the whole thyroid. I feel ya, girl. You got this.
I was diagnosed and put on 100 mg of Levothyroxine and feel worst my tpo numbers are high on 800’s , so that means I have Hashimotos I haven’t seen my dr just called this morning to go see her soon , so if I do have the Hashimotos do I need to take it out ??
christinedelozier I just recently got dignosed with hashimotos disease and I got my answers by my amazing doctor she tested me right away as soon as I went in with symptoms, but I’m still confused about here looking up the different hypothyroidisms and i know hashimotos causes it but is hashimotos a different disease from hypothyroidism or is it common??
No one really understands what it’s like living with this disease. My TSH recently came out to be 111.8 and my life is crazy. I feel depressed, tired, lost and no one just gets it. Thanx for sharing this.
111😳😳 I am so sorry, I can't imagine!!! Mine was 7 last time and it's the worst, I'm so tired and depressed, can't imagine how it's like at 111, hope youre doing better!!!
@@OzmaOfOzz mine also came 7 and yeah it really feels worse i feel sooo tired can’t even begin to describe it goshh May God help us to bear this horrible condition!
My daughter also has Hashimoto's and it took 20 years to get diagnosed. Whenever they did blood work, her levels were normal and the (male) doctors just wrote her off as a "hysterical" female! We finally found a (female) doctor who is an actual diagnostician and she knew exactly what was going on. She ordered repeated blood work for 3 weeks straight and caught the symptoms. Unfortunately for my daughter, she has lost most of her beautiful hair, gained 100 lbs and has no energy anymore. Please, if anyone reading this knows someone with these symptoms - don't let doctors blow you off!! Keep going until you find someone who will LISTEN TO YOU.
When I went to the doctor and I told them all the issues they told me that it was just me being overweight caused it. They didn't take blood work or anything. I went to the gyno and they need blood work and they found it out when my regular doctors didn't/couldn't..
@@leilagingil Your TSH might be normal, in that case you don't have hypothyroidism. However, if you happen to have Hashimoto's disease (which causes hypothyroidism) in its initial latent stage your tsh will be normal (meaning you're euthyroid) but you'll most likely have antibodies and some hypothyroid symptoms. Be sure to ask for a FULL thyroid panel, including tsh, t4, t3 and tpo and tg antibodies.
I understand completely how you feel I was recently diagnosed in December and I cried about it because I finally understood that I wasn’t crazy for feeling the way I do
You had me balling when you said you thought you were just a lazy coffee addict. That's exactly how I feel. Getting checked on Monday. Don't know what is going to come off it but hoping for answers.
Same here! Feeling like you're just not working hard enough because everyone else seems to be doing more and that you can't focus at ALL unless you have coffee. Seriously the last few years for me. Anxiously waiting for my blood test results.
Don't forget to keep going after a diagnosis even if doctors say everything is fine. I was 20 when I first asked for tests and after a few different doctors I finally got diagnosed yesterday at 25 years old. Sadly sometimes the symptoms have to get worse for doctors to catch it or even to pay attention -- although that's also true for other issues. Keep fighting!
I researched my symptoms myself because doctors wouldn't listen and i KNEW something was wrong. I then researched doctors that actually know what they are doing...Fmd's and naturopaths. I accidentally cut out caffeine after cutting gluten and dairy because I couldn't find a truly dairy free creamer.... and I can't tell you how much better my energy and ANXIETY are! Cut the coffee! After a month I didn't crave it anymore and after a couple of months I didn't even miss it. Something that helps to get through it is to sub your coffee with something else hot. I use different teas, Braggs remedy, or hot apple cider as a hot drink in the morning replacement. Also, I don't have the same reaction to most caffeinated tea as I do coffee. Coffee is also extremely inflammatory. Good luck!
Recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and prediabetes. I thought I was a lazy, caffiene addict. But doctor hasn't given me meds or advice. So doing my own research x

I seriously want to give you hug! I was 100% in the same boat. I'm also a caregiver to my mom, who has cancer, so it's easy to brush off your own health. I'm 35 so I had assumed it was just getting older. You are not supposed to be tired, cranky, overweight even when dieting and unable to think clearly. I'm now on medication and learning by trial and error but it had truly been a learning curve and has required a lot of patience with my body and health. Best of luck to you on your journey!
I got diagnosed when I was 18. I’m 21 now & going through college with it. It’s hard & I honestly haven’t dealt with it the way that I should. It just feels good to know that I’m not alone in this. It’s amazing to feel like there’s this mini community of people who understand how you feel.
I got diagnosed when I was born, I am 24 now and lived w it my whole life. The fatigue, brain fog and lack of focus was my biggest problem. My weight used to increase and sometimes it used to drop. There had been good yrs tho, but I always wondered how my life would've felt if i hadn't have it. .
I am 20 and I got diagnosed when I just turned 19 . I go to university and it is hard to keep up honestly. It feels like you have to work 3 times harder than anyone because of the memory loss , concentration issues and fatigue
Yes... I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a year back.... My loved ones constantly keep saying me to be more energetic and be more calm but how do I make them understand that it's my body that is going through some things... How I want to lose wait but I can't because every time I exercise I feel exhausted.
Hi I have hyper now they are doing a block and release to change it to hypo.but my body is struggling. Iv not been told how to take meds .just morning and night.bloods being done next week after asking again.i thing I need adjusting too.
@@aleenafaheem015hi. How are things going for you regarding the hypothyroidism? Any updates? I just got diagnosed and I’m really anxious. Just wanna know how things work out for people in the long run
i was diagnosed today. i started to cry when you did, because i absolutely get it. i’ve been called lazy and unproductive, little did anyone (including myself until now) know i was struggling with hyperthyroidism and it wasn’t my fault. i psychically could not pull myself to be productive and be normal because my body was working against me. i absolutely feel for you and kinda feel relieved that i’m not alone on that.
Bruh this hit me hard. I was diagnosed when I was 16 and I always thought I was lazy and never explained or went into depth about the symptoms. I’m 21 and I’m now starting to a little better and that I’m not alone.
"I thought I was having heart attacks so many times" that just made me burst into tears. I have hashimotos disease and I feel like an absolute zombie. horrible chest pain, numbness, VERY cold, shaking, etc. I've been to so many doctors and even a cardiologist and they said they don't think it's my heart, they want my thyroid retested. it's absolute agony at moments.
im 15 and last week I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and i just want to say thankyou for making this video. because it is so hard right now, doing all these tests and scans just scare me. im so proud of how far you’ve come ❤️

My gynecologist called me in for more blood testing because she believes I have hypothyroidism. All the symptoms I have been having make sense now. The weight gain, fatigue, everything. I always thought that was because of my anxiety. Thanks so much for sharing your story!
Thank you for sharing your story. I promise it gets better and easier. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism today, but I've been living with Epilepsy since I was 16 years old. And adjusting to epilepsy is never ending. I now have two conditions and three medications affecting me everyday. But I promise that you and I, and everyone on this planet has thousands of things to be grateful for. At the end of the day, we are all blessed. Stay strong!
I relate to your feelings about the extreme sadness and struggle of hashimoto's/hypothyroidism fatigue. It's so hard to tell ourselves to slow down. I also continuously exhaust myself and keep trying to be the high energy perfectionist I used to be in the past, before my body started betraying me. Sending love and support your way. Thanks for sharing your experiences, it really helped me to feel less alone.
honestly, i could relate to the beginning around 3:45 so much, i was diagnosed five years ago when i was 15 i’m now 20 and honestly was just as emotional as you at first! you have to tell yourself it’s not as bad as it seems, as long as you’re taking youre medication! it’s just one of those things you know, mine is genetic and instead of thinking why me it’s just a motivational thing to help me get my ass in the gym and eat better! honestly don’t be so harsh on yourself...don’t stress as long as you’re doing what is best for your body your future self will thank you
Hi. I never leave comments on videos. Your story hits close to home and I see you and your pain like I see it in myself. I feel you 1000%. It’s so annoying and frustrating to feel like you’re losing control of your body. I hate comparing myself to other “functioning” people too. I am just so tired. 😩 Just wanted to reach out and say you’ve got support out here. We’re going to figure out this puzzle in our own time. Stay strong girl!!
Girl, yes it is that serious. I’ve had Hashimotos since I was 11 & have been told I’m a hypochondriac & lazy & it’s all in my head. Even after all these years I still feel like that. The struggle of exhaustion & not having anywhere near the energy most people have is incredibly frustrating especially since many just don’t understand the depth of severity of the fatigue. Memory issues & fatigue have ruined my social life & have made daily life such a challenge. I wish more people understood. Thank you for sharing your story and struggles so others can see truly how difficult living with this illness can be. Sending you golden healing light & love sister.
Thank you so much for speaking out! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s a couple months ago and it’s been hard to accept. I felt for you when you cried, it’s truly upsetting to be so tired and to feel physically and mentally shitty all the time. It has even taken a toll on my personality, it seems like. People that don’t experience it don’t seem to understand either. I want to talk about it with friends but hate feeling like I’m complaining at the same time. So once again, thank you for using your platform to raise awareness!!
Yes! I am with you!!! I am so glad I came on here with you ladies that understand. It sucks having a brain fog, trying not to complain, feeling lazy. Etc.I get emotional seeing hoe I am relatable to others. ❤️❤️❤️
It's so relatable. It's hard when you don't have support system to help you going through. I felt so lonely during this phase that I started sharing my own story on my channel even though I was reluctant before never really knowing if I too will ever get the support or answers or not. Stay strong ladies! We've got this! 💪🏼

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way, I have been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid for nearly 20yrs, its only in the last year I've been paying closer attention to my diet - what I eat, what drink, I have reduced the caffeine I consume, I tend to go for high protein, low sugar, balanced diet. I have noticed my mood, supplements support, going out for walks as I find gentle and improved my mood, please be kind an take one day at a time a also try to change one or two things within your routine and see how you feel. Not sure how long you have been diagnosed but it does get better over time as you learn what works for you and more importantly what doesn't. If you ever need to talk. Don't hesitate and try hate towards yourself this will just make you feel worse. Your thyroid is part of you (just like your lungs or your liver) it just doesn't work properly.
I feel exactly the way you have expressed and I am hypo as well. I cry as well and I think it’s so unfair. A lot of people won’t understand. I do. I was diagnosed in 2009. So it been a while for me. I still have moments like you explained and when I do I rest as much as possible. Listen to your body . Stress management is everything. Quiet baths in the dark with candles. Soft music. Massages. I’m here if you ever want to talk.
I haven't been officially diagnosed, but I'm like, 97% sure I have it. Thank you so much for sharing your story, your honesty, your transparency, and your vulnerability. You have made so many people including myself feel like they are not alone.
Very brave of you to share your story. My level was running around 300 when I was diagnosed. I'm a tennis player and this disease has effected by fitness, caused muscle and joint pain and mental fogginess. Taking medicine on time, drinking lots of water, practicing mindfulness meditation has helped. Good luck in your journey to better health 🙏
Thanks for this video! I started having symptoms my first year of teaching. I shrugged off symptoms as being too tired from teaching. The fatigue I had was extreme, I gained 40ish pounds, and the brain fog was unimaginable. This lasted for months and I went to the doctors and they told me I was fine! All I needed to do was "exercise more and eat better." I tried to explain I was too tired to even get out of bed most days let alone teach. I also tried to explain that i wasn't eating poorly, but I don't think they believed me. Long story short, it was my OBGYN who discovered it. It's been two years for me and it's an ongoing journey/struggle. Good to know I'm not alone!
I feel for you girly, I have had Hashimotos and Hypothyroidism for about 10 years diagnosed. I really suffer from weight gain and when I lose it; I gain it back..it’s very disheartening. I suffer from brain fog, I have temperature intolerance, and fatigue like nobody’s business. I have hair loss especially my eyebrows (they’re non existent) and MANY MORE symptoms. It’s so very important to share awareness about thyroid health. I have had my thyroid issues for 10+ years and it’s still not easy but I just have to keep at it. Thank you for sharing your story, it means a lot.
@Lisa Marie yes I have had my dose lowered and raised and it kicks my butt every time it’s changed, but especially when it’s lowered. I have had it for now 12 years and unfortunately I’m just able to sometimes manage it but most the time the weight I have gained from the hypothyroidism hasn’t come off I can loose some of it but then as soon as I do i gain it back and sometimes plus some. It’s a hard struggle. Well I hope you can find a doctor that or someone/something that can help you best of luck :)
@Lisa Marie as for your question to when it will feel better..I’m still waiting. Also everyone’s thyroid hormones affect everyone different especially I have found in women..our bodies are literally hormones lol 😂 I find that my thyroid problems aren’t the same as my dads and he has just hypothyroidism. I didn’t realize I had thyroid issues until after my second child. My pregnancy’s were hard with both kids but I felt that after my second kiddo my body has never been the same. Also I was the first person in my family to find out that I have thyroid issues and then the rest of my family decided to see if they got it. My best advice is to be your own health advocate..speak up for yourself (repeatedly if need be) I hope that helps, I don’t have a lot of advice, I’m still learning and speaking up for myself..it’s been a long battle that I have won yet, I have good days (very few) and not so much. Unfortunately because most thyroid issues can’t be seen it’s hard for people to see and understand. I do hope you the best :)
Thank you for sharing 💕 Waiting for my blood results and feel quite worried, but hearing from you, another young woman, that you’re feeling better is helping me feel less anxious. Hope you’ve found good balance with your meds by now xx
Hey Wendy the FATHER has heard your prayers and I’m your sign to HEAR his WORD please msg me soul to soul my sister would love to help and give you the answers you deserve to feel better
I got diagnosed ever since I was three along with type 1 diabetes. I'm so glad people can relate to your videos and I'm happy this community can be together and be strong :)
Hi Olena! I've been suffering from hypothyroidism since I was 11. I'm 26 right now and for me the hardest part of it has always been the memory loss and gaining weight. Having memory loss really sucks because I don't want people to think I'm not paying attention to what they say, it's just something that we can't control and it's frustrating. On the other hand it didn't help that people laughed at me when I was a child because I was overweight. It really, really sucks sometimes and even after so many years taking my medicine and living with this illness I'm still making mistakes like eating breakfast right after taking my medicine instead of waiting an hour, but it's all about doing your best and even if it's hard sometimes, you end up learning to live with it. You can! ♥️
3 min in and I'm identifying hard girl. I'm on the beginning end of taking my medication regularly, diagnosed 2 years ago, and repeatedly stopped my medication like it slipped out of my routine. Thank you for making this video
Came here to say thank you. I have not yet been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (even though I have all the symptoms you've mentioned with decreased libido on top of that) but hearing about your battle and the fact that it did get a little bit better for you gave me hope and made me get out of bed, take my medication and promise myself to keep going.
When you were talking about being fatigue everyday and it being a challenge just to get up and trying to tell yourself that everyone goes through this. I really felt that. I just got diagnosed today and it really gave me my answer to a lot of my problems
I am going through this currently and possibly getting tests done today to see if I have it, but hearing you say all of the same things that I’m going through makes me want to cry because I finally don’t feel alone. I’m so glad that I found this video! I hope you are feeling much better these 3 years later 🤍
I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism since 12 or 13 years old and now I'm turning 18 this sept. I was shocked when you stated every symptom u had gone through cuz I went through the same too and even though I think my weight is average, I knew I had increased weight gain ever since being on the medicine and being diagnosed, hair fall out from my scalp and I get more acne when I keep forgetting to take my medicine and then taking it again. Recently I also found out I have high cholesterol which really upsetted me because even though I was doing everything I could and eating healthy and was not 'fat', I got cholesterol since each time I forgot to have my medicine, I didn't have that hormone of metabolism to break the fat from the food and that eventually gave me cholesterol. Like I went through a lot, even I went to the doctor to check up my heart and then eventually diagnosed with hypothyroid. Thank u soo much for posting this because I don't see a lot of influencers raising awareness. I relate to u soo much now as we even have the same struggles. Keep strong girl! We can all do this. this is a world full of tests being thrown at us financially, health wise, family and friend wise left right and centre but this world is not meant to be easy. Love you so much and stay strong
Found out from my doctor the other day that I have an enlarged thyroid and watching your video really helped me validate the symptoms I've been experiencing. Hoping for a proper diagnosis soon. Thank you for this video, it really helped me
*hugs* Literally dealing with all of this. I was diagnosed back in 2012, and didn't take it seriously thus stopping my medication. I can't wait to start back on tomorrow, because the damage done is beyond what I knew possible and the "life" I live today is nothing of a life at all. It's wonderful you're sharing your story and spreading awareness, and I Thank You for that.
I have literally just been diagnosed and everything you completely resonates with me! I have just brushed things off or put things down as assuming everyone had it. My memory loss is terrible, I have total brain fog and I can forget what I’m saying halfway through a sentence. I am also so tired all the time. It’s insane! I also didn’t know my mum had it until I was diagnosed and she told me. Thank you so much for posting this! X x
You hit all the feels when you said you thought you were just lazy. That's where i am. Just had bloodwork done on Friday and getting a Thyroid ultrasound soon. My Thyroid is swollen. You are so sweet. Thank you for this video💜
I am grateful to have come across this video. I struggled with hyperthyroidism for well over two years and have finally achieved hypothyroidism, and the fatigue is unreal. I think that is the biggest change for me, extreme fatigue and weight gain. I still have another two weeks to go before my endocrinologist starts me on my medication and I am just trying to figure out how to function in the meantime. All I want to do is sleep. Hoping to work out some dietary lifestyle changes once I start my medication. I appreciate hearing of your journey and realisation that the fatigue I am experiencing is “normal”. Thank you.
@@dewaters3218 I don’t know if there would be a permanent cure for me because I have had RAI treatment for hyperthyroidism. My understanding is that I will be on medication to balance out the thyroxine that my body can no longer produce in the amounts it needs to to function properly. I’ll still check them out though, as all knowledge is good knowledge to have. Thank you.
Gosh, I know exactly how you feel. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 7. After more than 30 operations there’s not much more that can be done. The exhaustion is terrible and as you said, it’s so hard to wake up in the morning. I can’t help thinking about everybody else getting up early in the morning, ready to take on the day whilst I feel like a lazy slob. I also lost over half of my hair, several times before. My Thyroid is regularly underperforming, too. It’s so disheartening when you also feel unattractive on top of everything else. I wish you you all the strength in the world.
2.5 years going to an endocrinologist. 2 years hypo and 6 months hyper. I feel your pain. Your thyroid regulates everything and knocks everything off. Thanks for speaking about it not many people do❤️
I had my entire thyroid removed when I was six. I literally feel the exact same as you and although I hate someone else has to go through what I went through, its comforting listening to you say the same things I've experienced. Sometimes its difficult to explain because you think youre slightly crazy but its reassuring hearing it from you.
Sidney Helton i was also diagnosed when I was 7 and seeing this comment just reminded me that I am not the only one that was dealing with this issue since they were a kid
I know what you're going through, I've had it for 15 years almost and I am 22. I've had hypothyroidism most of my life. It's a struggle. It has def takin a tole on my body. If you ever need someone to talk to. I'm always open! ❤️️❤️️ Don't ever let it stop you from chasing your dream.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 17. I didn’t noticed it myself that I had changed but my mother did because she has the same thing. I lost a lot of friends because of it because nobody really understood me. It’s not easy but I always try my best to keep pushing forward. At this very moment I have not been taking care of myself and I don’t take my meds daily. I am really grateful that you posted this video I know much more about hypothyroidism and how I can take of it! Much love for those who deal with the same ❤️ always keep pushing
Girl me too. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in high school. At first I was dealing with bad anxiety attacks. I was having heart palpitations and I hated it! and my pediatrician sent me to get lab work done to see if anything was wrong. Came out with low thyroid levels. Before that I was always tired and I mean TIRED and constantly having headaches and it got really bad around 3pm which I was after school. Waking up was always a battle. I’ve been dealing with hair loss lately too :/
darlene I'm having those symptoms too but I'm not diagnosed yet im still getting tests done I've had blood cells tested my iron ferrtin. The doctor is testing me for thrombytois won't get results till 12th February. I'm getting hormone levels tested soon if it turns out I haven't got that.I been seeing gynecologist to look for what is wrong.
Thanks for sharing your story. I hope you continue to win the war against hypo. I’ve been on meds for 15 years. I’m 44 now and even though my meds are working, I do feel like we hypo patients have to try extra hard to maintain/lose weight, manage stress, ensure we get enough quality sleep, eat right, and exercise. We have to do these things almost perfectly, whereas it does seem as though others don’t have quite the same struggle. But your advice to take breaks, do what you can, take the pressure off, and not compare yourself to others is spot on. I think you’ve got a good start to your journey. Wishing you good health, peace, and love.
I have been following you since 2015 when I was prepping for prom and stumbled across your channel and have been obsess with your channel and your personality ever since so to hear your struggles honestly broke my heart for you but also made me feel less alone, I also suffer from a chronic illness and just today put up a video saying I was struggling. This just reminds us we’re not all living a perfect life we are human behind the screens and i love you for opening up and just being human for us. Especially the part where you say you thought you were lazy and seeing other people going to the gym and you just being exhausted from every normal aspect of life and trying to justify every symptom exactly how you said because I was and am the exact same I was always a ‘do do do do more be the best’ person and had to take a step back too so I know how difficult it can be. Sending all the well wishes in the world💕💕💕

i was born with congenital hypothyroidism and to this day i still find myself struggling to cope with the symptoms sometimes. i’ve been flip flopping between being over medicated and under medicated for the past 2 years. i feel for you!! it can be so hard, especially suffering between depression and anxiety! it can get super discouraging but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel! with dedication and being in the right health care hands, eventually we can get our body’s back on track!!
I feel your pain!! I’m a mom and dealing with this is so hard. Sometimes It’s like I’m the only one who understands and mine actually lead to heart problems. I’ve dealt with so much from it and I’m still dealing with it but I decided to start researching it and trying to find the best way to cope with it. I understand the sleeping & having to stop when you wanna keep going, the doctors, the dry skin it’s just over whelming at times!! But I’m pray for us and our fight against it! I’m happy I’m not alone . I miss myself being fine and before this but it’s depressing thinking about it and the symptoms. My weight gain is crazy and I eat healthy but it’s not changing so I’m not gonna just sit on it I’m gonna do as much as I can to get better!
Having thyroid problems really disrupts you a lot. Thanks for sharing. Watching your video now a third time and every time I identify myself with a new symptom. Cannot believe I am suffering for 15 years and have not gotten the hang of it yet. Today was seeing a doctor, I have gained weight 10 kgs in since feb 2020t Approx 0.5 every week, her first thought is eat less, if it was that and at my age then my weight would have gone haywire by now. Such narrow mindedness drives me nuts. I had to explain to het that every time my body seems strange it is always due to changes in my T3 and T4 levels, that is when she ordered tests, An overhaul in health system now my new doc is clueless of underlying symptoms and i had to request for vitamin tests and hormone tests. I was so angry. Thanks for sharing and please all who are going through this insist and read it helps before you see your doctor.
This is currently happening to me and I have a family history with thyroid through my mom. I’m so happy more people are talking about it. ❤️ wish you the best with your journey.
Sally i m a med student 2 recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism ...n i m getting suicidal thoughts buz its getting in my life my study my everything my whole personality is shattered
@@mishalzahra1814 same here sweetheart.. it’s awful I have no go in me... as I type my feet and hands are frozen as per .. sending you love... what are you doing to help your condition.. I’m going to search up the iodine route, a certain type of iodine, it’s meant to be good for thyroid and other things xx ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So proud of you for realizing and acknowledging all of your symptoms & stopped comparing yourself to others! Autoimmune/chronic diseases like hashimotos/hypothyroidism are really hard! Stay strong, we're all here supporting you
i cant express to you enough how much i’m ugly sobbing through this video because i found someone who FINALLY understands. i have hashimotos. i’m exhausted 24/7. i push myself beyond belief because i have to work, i have to pay bills.. but my body’s begging me for a break. i have terrifying panic attacks all the time. i have pretty much all of the symptoms. and i just wanna be okay.
You have no idea how much I felt the high concern and how low you felt about having no energy and thinking this is how people feel! Thank you for making this video! I found out I have the same condition as you today. We can get thru this!
Im so sorry you had to go through this, it really sucks- i was told I had hypothyroid in high school at 18 yrs old. My symptoms were similar- excessive loss of hair, horrible- carrying an elephant fatigue- just standing was so draining- and boy the trash can! I was barely able to drag it and was out of breath afterwards, and not to mention that I wasn't sleeping well- like as soon as I touched my pillow I would fall asleep but then I would wake up 2 or 3 hours later (insomnia) and wasn't able to go back to sleep. And if I did sleep I didn't get to that "rest or 3rd" stage of sleep so it felt like I was waking up as soon as I had fallen asleep and the next day I was like "seriously? I just fell asleep!" I felt like a dead person walking, The only thing I looked forward to as soon as I woke was getting back in bed at night after school. And the depression was so bad- everything that I once enjoyed my thyroid put it in a bag like a thief and threw it out the window. My memory loss was crazy too. I had all A's the first year of high school and then it turned to C's, D's, and F's my senior year. It felt like I had a memory mind wipe. I forgot how to do the most simplest math problems- I felt so horrible because since I was sick and didn't know it I was incapable of doing the easy things and didn't know why- So don't apologize for crying girl
I’m going through the same thing and even tho it’s a lot, I know we can get better. Thanks for talking about what’s happening. It’s not easy to share something like this with the world. ♥️stay strong
Thank you for sharing your experience. My labs tell me I have a thyroid problem, but I have not been diagnosed yet. Hashimoto’s runs in my family, so I knew about it for years. I just thought since I surpassed my mom and sister who had it at about the same age that I was spared. Not the case possibly now. There are physicians out there that still don’t understand this condition well as well as Hospitals as I was going in to the ER with bad heart palpitations and they never pulled a thyroid antibodies test or anything to do with my thyroid on me only TSH. My heart palpitations have subsided now, but now I am fatigued, cold extremities, brain fog and memory loss and unbalanced. Be your own advocate. Pneumonia may have set mine off, and I was diagnosed with fatty liver which will take time to correct. There is so much to understand about this disease.
Bless you! I've had half of my thyroid removed 2014 when I was 16 years old, had a tumor on it that was growing rapidly :/ Ever since the surgery I have been dealing with memory loss (brain fog) and some unfortunate weight gain :( Sometimes I wish I could go back in time to prevent that tumor from ever growing! Sending you lots and lots of love from Germany
Thank you for making this video. It means so much to hear another young person talk about it. Makes me feel valid and less alone. I got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in January after 6 months of extreme symptoms. Thank you, thank you!!
You’re video is helping me so much. I’m going through so much hospital testing and stuff right now. They think I have hypothyroidism. I understand the fatigue. I get super tired just walking to the bathroom. It feels so overwhelming and I can barely handle it. And I’m hoping I’m able to find out soon everything. Thank you so much! It helps to know that I’m not alone. Cause it always feels like you are.
I understand what you're going through. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 10 years old. I'm 30 now & unfortunately you'll have good days & bad days but its important to never give up!! I watch Dr. Westin Childs on TH-cam & he is awesome to hopefully answer any questions you have in mind.
all of the symptoms I am experiencing for the past two weeks, this video gave it all. I had an online consultation last week and my doctor said that I might have it. But I am having second opinion and it's gonna be on Monday. And I am getting ready for what she has to say. Because my first doctor didn't know if I have it or arrhythmia. You know that feeling when you'ree dying to know what's happening to you, to your body and you just wanna know what is it. So whatever it is I am ready. Just because I don't have to think much about like "what is it?" "am I going to wake up again tomorrow?" "is it deadly?" So yeah, wish me luck!
Completely understand as I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease / Hyperthyroidism 3 years ago after suffering for 12 months prior . It has been a long journey and now after RAI I am taking Thyroxine and hoping my body settles and gets used to the medication without too many problems and weight gain . It is a very emotional journey to can definitely relate , all the best xx
Omg story or my life. I literally was so overwhelmed and tired and could not concentrate or focus at all I also have hypothyroidism. Being a single mother of two kids I was crying wondering what’s going on . Thank you for this video I can complete relate
Thank you for making this video. I was diagnosed almost two years ago and I still am adjusting. It’s something have to deal with daily and I learn something new everyday. Best wishes for you and take care of yourself.
Thank you for this video. I have family members that have thyroid issues, and I have A LOT of the symptoms of hypothyroidism. But I always say I need to get tested, and then never remember when I am there. This video really hit home, and this is something I wont forget. So I really appreciate this message. I hope you start feeling better & better, as you learn more & more about this condition. 💜
I am pretty sure I have this...I can't get into a doctor until March so I am just trying to research and hold on. My hair is shedding like crazy, huffing and puffing just walking around the house, my face has aged 10 years, can't sleep, pins and needles especially at night...please pray for me as I pray for us🙏.
I'm sorry, it's not easy. I have to eat very strict diet, which I'm okay with, it's healthier. I don't love having to take my t3 medication everyday, it doesn't always absorb the exact same everyday.
Well, I just realized today that I was taking my medicine all wrong. My doctor didn't explained it to me. 🥺🥺🥺 Now I will take it right. I was recently diagnosed almost a year ago. So I'm new to it. But what you said was so relatable. Especially the feeling lazy part. I would try but I would become so tired easily and people that don't have a chronic illness just don't get what is like to have a sick body and think one is lazy. Also the whole sleeping through alarms is super real to me. I can easily sleep 10 to 13 hours without an alarm to wake me. Hold on girl. We are all in this together.
Oh my gosh. THIS VIDEO. Thank you for sharing your story! I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism on Friday, legit 2 days ago, and I will be starting medicine on Tuesday. Both of my parents along with my aunt and cousin all have the same thing. I've known for years that something was not right with my body. Same situation as you. Exhausted every day even with plenty of sleep. Eating healthy, working out, etc. but just feeling foggy, memory loss, and just tired. I never knew other people didn't feel like this until I asked my husband how he felt daily. I've lost lots of hair and I never knew what it was from. Skin has always been dry, even after putting lotion. UGH JUST THE WORST. But it makes me feel soo much better hearing other people's stories and knowing that I wasn't going crazy for feeling this way. - Good luck on the rest of your journey!
Oh sweetie! You are so strong! You’re working through this with so much support. If you’re interested in natural therapies - there are other options out there if your not feeling the medication. Talk to your doctor first of course… I’m sure there’s a naturopath near you 💗
I found out last year (at age 22) that I have a degenerative kidney disease therefore my kidneys are loosing their function. It was a really hard diagnosis for me. I’ve been having doctors appointments and blood testing monthly which is really draining (also not fun to be poked with needles often) There is no cure or treatment for my disease and I often question God with every “why” that I can think of. Here’s what I know, God was with me during my diagnosis, He is with me now, and He will be with me through all of the hardships in the future. We have to keep our minds on things above. It’s HARD some days. I wanna give up the fight and just let my disease take me but I know that I was created, by God, to fulfill a purpose. Until I fulfill His plan for me, I know that I am kept here by God and will have everything I need to fight this battle and the same goes for you. Sending lots of love and prayers. I know you are a woman of faith, if you would, please be praying for me. I’ve already lived about half of my life span and I’m so young. Depression sneaks up on me when I least expect it and I’m just trying to manage the pain and anxiety I feel from having kidneys that are failing me. We can fight this together, girl. ALWAYS KEEP THE FAITH💕
It's very relatable not knowing you are sick and comparing yourself with others who are healthy making yourself think you are lazy

Especially when they're telling you nothing is wrong, test after test comes back normal, and essentially you're being gaslit about your own symptoms. (My regular gp didn't even notice it in my blood tests, it took my gender clinic dr to point it out, now I'm waiting for my tests in september to know for sure)
So true..
My ex threw that in my face left me cheated on me lost my memory was very sick took both vehicles gave it to his girlfriend and left me without a vehicle so now I’m driving my kids car in a pandemic it’s been a hot mess.
Yes!!!! I can totally relate to this! For years I didn’t know I had it and always been told that I am lazy. Comparing myself to others is horrible.
It really feels like your body is a cage and you look back and are no longer the person you were it's really depresing
💜💜
I can’t even explain in words how I feel. 😭😭
Was diagnosed four years ago, my first doctor told me to see a psychiatrist because I "had to be crazy."
Turns out, I have Hashimoto's AND I had cancer, so they had to remove the whole thyroid. I feel ya, girl. You got this.
@Soumya Rabhi very well, thank you so much ❤️
What an unprofessional doctor! Glad you got the diagnosis and care you needed
I was diagnosed and put on 100 mg of Levothyroxine and feel worst my tpo numbers are high on 800’s , so that means I have Hashimotos I haven’t seen my dr just called this morning to go see her soon , so if I do have the Hashimotos do I need to take it out ??
christinedelozier I just recently got dignosed with hashimotos disease and I got my answers by my amazing doctor she tested me right away as soon as I went in with symptoms, but I’m still confused about here looking up the different hypothyroidisms and i know hashimotos causes it but is hashimotos a different disease from hypothyroidism or is it common??
hope you are doing well girl 🥺❤️
This girl is so sweet, you can just tell she has a good and pure soul
When you say Test result were normal, what did they measure? They test my TSH... and they don’t do further test. They say its depression!
Gala Mehl 😭
Because I was not overweight I got shrugged off by doctors. They said I’m only in my 30s and too young to be going through these symptoms.
I understand completely how you feel I was recently diagnosed in December and I cried about it because I finally understood that I wasn’t crazy for feeling the way I do
True af
The beginning of this video legitimately made me cry

I got diagnosed when I was born, I am 24 now and lived w it my whole life. The fatigue, brain fog and lack of focus was my biggest problem. My weight used to increase and sometimes it used to drop. There had been good yrs tho, but I always wondered how my life would've felt if i hadn't have it. .

So once again, thank you for using your platform to raise awareness!!

crying watching this video, I was just diagnosed with this and just knowing that THIS is why I’ve felt this way, and that others relate is so comforting to hear. THANK YOU for this video

that's true, i kept wondering why i cried so easily
Same here , I cry for anything . Look as a stupid person .
Did u have pain and redness around your eyes?

No I have never experienced that.
I haven't been officially diagnosed, but I'm like, 97% sure I have it. Thank you so much for sharing your story, your honesty, your transparency, and your vulnerability. You have made so many people including myself feel like they are not alone.
I’ve had hashimoto’s for 10 years and recently realized I need surgery. The struggle really can be isolating, but know you aren’t alone!!
I was diagnosed on Thursday, and my levels are around 300. If you don't mind me asking, how much of the hormone are you taking?
Buff y did they test your blood?
I have watched so so sooooo many videos on hypothyroidism and THIS IS IT. Thanks you for posting this.... I needed this. I relate on a huge level.
@Gen thank you for responding! I'll look into it!
Monique Tibble same😩... it’s a hard life to live in a hashimoto body
That can go AWAY for you FREE KNOWLEDGE if you want it just msg me would love to help and you spread it if you decide to can change your life
hello, about the brain fog has it gotten better? I'm really really struggling with it at the moment
My best advice is to be your own health advocate..speak up for yourself (repeatedly if need be)
I hope that helps, I don’t have a lot of advice, I’m still learning and speaking up for myself..it’s been a long battle that I have won yet, I have good days (very few) and not so much. Unfortunately because most thyroid issues can’t be seen it’s hard for people to see and understand.
I do hope you the best :)
Thank you for sharing 💕
Waiting for my blood results and feel quite worried, but hearing from you, another young woman, that you’re feeling better is helping me feel less anxious.
Hope you’ve found good balance with your meds by now xx

You can! ♥️
I am 100% with you there. This is exactly how I feel. Hashimoto's drains your mind and soul.

The memory loss is so insane, I’m 23 and still trying to figure out what medications to take 😕
Go to the doctor
I forgot how to do the most simplest math problems- I felt so horrible because since I was sick and didn't know it I was incapable of doing the easy things and didn't know why-
So don't apologize for crying girl
I am 18, I was diagnosed a few days ago, currently on medications. Does it get better? Will I still have these shitty symptoms after sometime?

Just got diagnosed and now I’m on synthroid! Ugh! Thanks for sharing your story, I’ve been worried that I’ve been exaggerating my fatigue
Oh sweetie! You are so strong! You’re working through this with so much support. If you’re interested in natural therapies - there are other options out there if your not feeling the medication. Talk to your doctor first of course… I’m sure there’s a naturopath near you 💗
You are so strong! Loving and cheering for you always ❤️❤️
I found out last year (at age 22) that I have a degenerative kidney disease therefore my kidneys are loosing their function. It was a really hard diagnosis for me. I’ve been having doctors appointments and blood testing monthly which is really draining (also not fun to be poked with needles often)
There is no cure or treatment for my disease and I often question God with every “why” that I can think of.
