Have had to RMA mine 2 times for this issue, thank you for finally posting this. Have owned this laptop since 2015 and was worried these tutorials would never come out. Thank you so much!
I watched this video about a year and a half ago to repair my Asus. Now it has broken again and I am back to repair it a second time. Thank you for msking this video.
Thanks for the video! You were very helpful, great quality video instructions. I was able to fix my UX303UB, which has been broken for about a year and unable to close 😂 so I'm very happy! Watched the techy bits at 0.25x speed, but it's perfect now, thanks!
Hi, thanks for sharing the video. I fixed my laptop watching this video, bought broken parts online and just followed the video. Everything is working fine. Thank you so much.
Although being rough with these laptops can cause the failure, I believe the hinges themselves can get a bit stiff, which with time will cause the same problem. If you're doing this repair, you might want to loosen the hinges (via the nut on the pivot) while you have them apart.
New to the channel loving the content in my element!...I have no idea why you dont have more subs and comment keep up the great work! im working my way through the playlist!
Many thanks for this video. It helped me fix the exact same issue with my laptop. However, I thought it’d be useless to order the replacement part online as it’d end up broken anyway. Instead, I used a super glue to fill the broken part of the screw fitting and it works very well.
Hi, Thanks for your video ! One of a screw hole down the frame of the screen is broken , do you think it is really horrid like you said in the video to only change the frame and keep the screen because the all kit is expensive. Or maybe you have a link to share for a "cheap" kit ? Thanks again ! :)
@@anthonycarchidi8697 there were some on Aliexpress for around 30€/$ but with pretty long delivery time (month/month and a half), so I ordered it straight from the Asus spare parts website, more expensive (around 70-90€/$) but I got it delivered within 3 days
Nice explanation, my brother, thank you, but I have a question about the network cable attached to the bottom of the screen. I was waiting for a way to replace this cable because I have the same laptop. I wanted to change the keyboard, but I discovered that the cable came out of its place and I could not install it due to the small size of the cable mounting hole, so I soldered the cable to the socket. On the network chip... my network has become weak Do you have an explanation of how to change the cable connected to the screen? To try a solution to the problem and change this cable, because I think the problem is due to its interruption and not the cable itself
Thank you very much, very clear, had exactly the same problem, and partially fixed by tightening some of the hinge screws. What should I search for to buy the replacement parts you mentioned? If you want me to follow a link that gives you some credit, I will gladly do that.
Thank You! Praise the Lord this happened while living in China... 🙌 🙌 I'm able to get a replacement cover for $25 - $30 and not have to wait too long for it to arrive. 👏👏 I'll watch this video again when the parts come and I go to replace it.
Thank you for your video! It was my first time opening up my laptop and I was able to follow your video to fix my hinges! When I re-assembled the hinge assembly, I noticed that I was missing a few screws for the hinge to the bottom of the laptop. Do you know what size those screws are? I want to go buy replacements. Thank you again!
Definitely don't need to be rough on these laptops. I have this very one and had this very problem fixed under warranty. Since finding out about this problem, I have used it sparingly and kept it wrapped up in cotton wool and it has still happened again.
hey mate was this the touchscreen model? I recently changed my hinges but my touch screen is no longer working. I did not take pictures before I started. I am unsure of where the little conductive strips on the left and right side corners are meant to go which is why my touch screen is not working
Hi! great tutorial, Although I didn't buy the parts yet, I had the exact problem with my laptop + the screen stopped working. So I followed your tutorial, disconnected and reconnected the screen (minus one hinge that is way too broken for reconnection) and walla! the screen is now working. So thank you for that! In the meantime, I am trying to find the lcd cover with the hinges replecement online, but all I see is either digitizer for the screen, or lcd or hinges alone... no complete set as you showed. Could you suggest a link for aliexpress or ebay or any other trustworthy site, where the set can be ordered?
So, had the same problem developing and took old trusty apart to reinforce the weak plastic around the molded-in nuts with some epoxy, which IMO should be done even on un-damaged ones as a preventative measure. Problem is, the antennae un-clipped by themselves without me noticing (got it as a refurb years ago and i guess they didn't bother replacing the tape). Now, this is the fifth video i've watched that shows it, and on three the antenna with the white cable/marked with white shrink-wrap is connected to the outer UFL connector, now this is the second one where it's connected to the inner...can anyone confirm? P.S. I've also seen someone just drill through the back cover and use rivets, if the epoxy fails , or it's too far gone to reinforce and you can't find a cover, that oughta hold it. You can even use aluminium rivets which should even look decent. Now to figure out why the button in the touchpad stopped working.. LOL @ "Fuck yeah."
Hi, Thanks for explain Do you have any video about how to change the screen Asus UX301L NotebookPC,outside glass fine but inside is broken if do you have any video please let me know. Thanks
If you are messing with LCD and Back-light - the rule is - always disconnect the battery fist and connect it last. It is possible that you did not connect the display/back-light properly and there is either just a bad contact (if you are lucky) or something blew up (if yu are unlucky)
Hey, could you tell me what you'd charge for this repair job? I have the exact same issue on the non-touchscreen version of this laptop, and would be willing to come to you guys for the fix. Thanks
@@Adamant_IT Thanks for getting back. And I'm assuming you'd have to order in the parts which would take a few weeks? Or would you happen to have them in stock?
I was charged 180$ few years back and they messed a lot of things. I didnt know back than that this is common problem with this laptop, they attacked for ruining it. Never agan will i go back to them.
This was helpful when I changed the wifi antenna. Only problem was that I didn't realize first that the hinge slides to the side before it can be taken off so i almost broke it completely hehe.
Sounds like something isn't connected properly inside the laptop. Triple-check all the internal connectors and ribbons, maybe remove and reconnect them just to be sure.
How much should a repair like this cost or should I just get another laptop... I really dont have that lons of money so an estimate of what I need to expect would be great
So I followed this guide... and it's great and all. But after reinstalling everything I turned it on (didn't expect anything because it had been in pieces for months) and it turned on but the screen was black and then i tried it again and it did the same thing with the computer plugged in. so I tried again to turn it on and the power light went off (charging indicator) and the PC didn't turn on. so i pulled it apart again and noticed that those 2 wires near the hinge, well one of those connectors had completely popped off (one with white stripe) so I tried to reattach it and put it all back together and nothing happened. Ummm how f*d am I? lol
Simone Famularo hello mate Did you find a solution to this ? Because I am in the same situation right now. Changed hinges Screen was black when I turned it back on Eventually ran out of battery No charge indicator Please help!
Seems like the manufacturer use the least amount of materials as possible to cut costs, no care for ruggedness at all. If it breaks, just blame it on the customer 😪
