As a 20 year old unfortunate enough to be in gen Z, I wish we had more people like this. Genuine old school folks are a dying breed. Life is good and I thank the Lord every day for another chance to be a light in this dying world.
Yes I feel bad for new generations they are not seeing true talent these people had to struggle go through all kinds trials tribulations to make it in a competitive field ray is and will remain a hero and icon rip
Yup and once they are all gone you will never see another generation like them again NEVER! What they went thru work, taking care of their kids and such a young age , again work and work and never once complain about this or that makes them the strongest there will ever be! Those generations were it!
Ray Prices singing ,Your the best thing that has happened to me will be sung at my memorial.I was born in 1951 and married in 1975. Nearly 49 years. I am dying and it's rough. I am so very happy with the Love of my life. She has my strength. Tina,I Love you so much
Ray Price is one of the absolute best. He is a reflection of what true country music is. Of all the great Ray Price songs my favorite is "I Wish I Was 18 Again". I will be 79 in a couple of months so I certainly feel the emotion of this song. I can only speak for myself, but I believe most of us wish we could be 18 again.
You speak for me too . I'm 79 and still love to listen to the 'old' crooners sing those sweet ballads . George Burns did a nice job on this song as well , and my father sang it while playing his piano about 20 years ago and he taped it for me . Cheers !
I’m 86 and married at 18, so yes, I would love to be 18 again so that I could marry my wife of 69 years again. By the way I love to listen to the great Ray Price.
Dying of Pancreatic cancer he did an album Beauty Is and dedicated to his wife Janie. He would stay in the music venue and sign or shake any hand his whole career. By the time (Being last) in line, he signed everything for me. He did not make me feel rushed but appreciated. He never took a dime from songwriters for songs he sang. His songs are timeless. They say his Voice in the final album when he was in extreme pain from end stage pancreatitis cancer Did not require any musical enhancements. The older I get the how soo many old greats gear forgotten. Recall as a kid listening to 78 real thick records and because of the bad recordings I just trashed all those records. Now most don’t know what a 78 record was.
I am 72. I get it. My niece called me old not long ago. I said yeah you are right, but I saw things live you only read about in history books, heard groups, and singers at their prime, and saw entertainers on Ed Sullivan of my parents and grandparents time, before the curtain fell for them forever. I saw America go from the peaceful sleepy 50's, to the mess it is today, and it all took about 37 seconds, which you will not begin to understand till you are old too.
Exactly. We know the REAL history. We don’t need these new fake accounts of what happened 50 or 60 years ago. We were there and the news was not fake like today. We are fed pure bull everyday that back in the day would not be aired.
This has been my anthem for the last 40 years! I once said if I could go back to being 18 I would do it all differently. But if I did I would miss out on having my wonderful daughters and Granddaughters. Still sometimes I wish I was 18 again. I’m 73.
Gary I take my hat off to you. You are so right about the age you reflected on this song. I am almost 74 and started listening to Ray in 1950 and GOD I have had a wonderful life. Best of luck to you
where are the good-hearted gentle men like Ray today? Such precious memories of my dad taking my mom's hand on Saturday night in the den by the fireplace to waltz to Ray Price
One of the most beautiful country balladeers of all time. His voice was liquid silk, and the emotion was effortless and genuine. Thanks for the memories, Ray.
When I was 18, I graduated from high school, and married my 20 year old sweetheart. He has been gone almost 3 years now. We had 50 years... not counting the dating years. And I wish we could do it all again..,,
All of my old friends have long passed away, their memory has moved in to stay; dining and dancing are now at an end, oh I wish I was eighteen again. I`m 90 and this sure rings a bell.
WELL it is now 2024 and I'm 80, still going strong and doing the best I can with what's left. Good luck to ALL out there who have skeletons in the closet and are making amends the best you can . On my final leg, rounding third base now and health isn't so bad BUT, nothing lasts forever and thank my higher power for all the years he has given me.
I agree! Nearer to My Father God and His Son Jesus Christ who gave all of these wonderful people their precious voices that entertained. Would never want to return.
I`m 86 and this song sure rings true. Well done by one of the country greats. I do the song a lot and thought it needed a 4th verse at the end so I wrote the following: All of my old friends have long passed away, their memory has moved in to stay; dining and dancing are now at an end, I wish I was eighteen again. RIP Mr.Price. You`re greatly missed.
Amazing how many "old" people are actually on youtube. Just a few years ago i was in my teens and thinking it was exclusively teenagers and people in their 20s. It sure is refreshing to see all generations fitting in. And I sure love you guys much more than the think-know-it-all 30-50 yo crowd obsessed with money and their careers until they hit their mid-life crisis and realize they wond find happiness there. I'm 40 years behind you, but realizing how quick those 40 years seemed to have come and gone, I can see over the horizon. This song kinda stings because even now at 46, the check engine light is comming on and waxing nostalgic for 18 is a reality for me as the aches and pains of middle age begin to appear.😢
I wish you were 18 again too Mr. Ray Price... I'll admit without shame that I cried when you left us. You've brought so much beauty and joy into my life with your wonderful music and were even kind enough to meet with me personally on several occasions. You'll just never know how appreciated you were by folks like myself.
I am 77 and this song really hits home. Ray Price is a great singer, the first song I heard him sing was For the Good Time, still my favorite. I am sorry he is gone but he is singing in heaven

Hi my oldest sister told me when we pass away we are givein our 30 year old body again she said it has something to do with the age of Jesus when he passed away well I dont have proof I believe my sister
Got to see this Gentleman within a year before his death. Didn't remember his name. Shed a few tears through the whole concert, knowing I grew up listening to him. He still sounded as great then as he did in my younger days. And this song brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it.
I met my wife when she was 15 and I was 18. We had 2 dates and neither of us ever dated anyone else again.we were married 60 years and she passed. That was 6 years ago and the heartaches never end but I know I will see her soon. I love her so much!

I'm 71 now and just barely making it through each new day. but even so thankful for every minute & second. Yes. how nice to be 18 again and in love with the beauty, eyes & body & soul of a young woman or girl. this simple song & lyric said it so very well.
Listened to this 5 months ago, and now it has even deeper meaning, with my younger sister having died 2 months ago, without advance warning. Life is fleeting - Young folks, enjoy and savor the days of your youth, for one day you will be in my shoes.
These dislike idiots are exactly that IDIOTS..... What a Great voice from a Great man....sad you have left us Mr. Price but you did leave us "Beauty is" Many thanks RIP
The ones who dislike this don't truly appreciate true country music!! They would rather see these new singers act like idiots who jump around on stage and have to have flashy lights to get people to watch them. Thanks Ray for you music - you'll never be forgotten!!
Who thinks a so called country song should be singing about naming the dog - seems a bit silly to me. Give me the old traditional country music any day 💗. To each his own I suppose .
One day wishes like this one will be realized.Being young again and with perfect health. This is not simply a dream or a wish.Instead this is a promise found in Gods written word this with ever so many others. My faith and hope is what pleases our Creator,Jehovah God.Yours can too!!!
I am 71 and reasonably healthy. I have lots to be thankful for, although we loss our 37 year old mentally challenge daughter to a car accident almost 6 years ago. My wife only had a few cuts and bruises on that sad occasion. Can't turn back the years there's not much I would change. I met every challenge over the years and still facing a few. We All have challenges. Merry Christmas from cold and snowy Newfoundland.
Damn Ray! Why couldn't you have lived forever!!? One of the top highlights of my life,, was the times I got to see you in person, even greater was taking my Daddy to see you. He was truly your biggest fan. No one in this entire world loved your music more than he! Miss the hell out of both of you!
This is so awesome to run into. I ran the closeup floor camera and edited this concert back in 2008 I believe. This was such a wonderful concert and brings back some great memories. His voice was truly timeless!
My love was born in 1930, he passed 9 months ago. This song is so true to life! While the younger years were full of many adventures, I was more in love with him each day through his 87 years.
I was born in 1942 and will be 77 and I lost my wife 3 years ago and have met a new beautiful lady and how I wish I was 18 now. Where 76 and 77 and where not dead yet. Still lpve the play room.
We saw Ray in concert. He was great and in his 80s still singing as good as ever. Treasure the music I have of his. Which I was eighteen again. Thanks for sharing 😊
I love this song! I cried when you passed away, Ray. I grew up listening to your records thanks to my parents having a few of them! I knew all the words to “Grazing in Greener Pastures” at a young age.
im 49 and ive felt this way since i was 30. it also makes me sad seeing all the comments in this thread of people saying they are in their 80s, modern country music is so soulless i wish more younger people would appreciate actual country music.

I have this CD. My advice is to get it.
His voice actually got better as he aged!
I love this song and it resonates to me at 79. The words are sooo true.
Give Ray Price the phone book to sing and he would turn it into a memorable ballad!
I wish I was 18 Again. A great song an songwriter R.I.P Mr Ray prince ❤️
They’ll be there one day, and then they’ll understand
Jacques Rousson great singer we need more 🇨🇦
Exactly right......great song by a beautiful singer. Miss Ray
And it is "Just Around the Corner".
GREAT. I cried. I am from Turkey and I love old country music.
Such a great singer,I will be 90 next year,i wish i was 18 again is my favorite record.
I can relate to this song and I was born in 1950
I am 71 and reasonably healthy.
What a great man and a great voice, which tells the story of many of our lives! When you left us Mr. Price, we lost a true legend.
Great voice and a great man.
Ray Price will always be missed!
What a treat to have lived in this gentlemen's lifetime! I'm a wealthy man for it! And now I'm 3/4 HOME myself Ray...see ya soon!
Hello how are you doing??
Although I was 18 in Vietnam , hard to understand , I wish I was 18 again!
So do I. At 82 Mr,. price turned back the pages of time for me once again. How sad hes gone. For those who loved his music I wish you happy trails.Dan

My love was born in 1930, he passed 9 months ago. This song is so true to life! While the younger years were full of many adventures, I was more in love with him each day through his 87 years.

We saw Ray in concert. He was great and in his 80s still singing as good as ever. Treasure the music I have of his. Which I was eighteen again. Thanks for sharing 😊
I am over three quarters home. Love this song. 💃💃💃💃🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️👵👵👵👵👵👵
Hey how are you doing??😮
I love this song! I cried when you passed away, Ray. I grew up listening to your records thanks to my parents having a few of them! I knew all the words to “Grazing in Greener Pastures” at a young age.
It just don't get no better than this, one of the best voices that ever recorded a Country song. 5/26/18
You are thankfully for his voice. I am regretfully for the loss of his friendship. There was much more to my freind, Ray, than just his voice.
No auto tune on his piano tuner either!
im 49 and ive felt this way since i was 30. it also makes me sad seeing all the comments in this thread of people saying they are in their 80s, modern country music is so soulless i wish more younger people would appreciate actual country music.
The Most Respectable Man In Country Music . What An Incredible Sensitive Voice , Like Know One Today .
Now at a greater part of my life, I understand even more than before. I do wish I was 18 again.
