As a 20 year old unfortunate enough to be in gen Z, I wish we had more people like this. Genuine old school folks are a dying breed. Life is good and I thank the Lord every day for another chance to be a light in this dying world.
Yes I feel bad for new generations they are not seeing true talent these people had to struggle go through all kinds trials tribulations to make it in a competitive field ray is and will remain a hero and icon rip
Ray Prices singing ,Your the best thing that has happened to me will be sung at my memorial.I was born in 1951 and married in 1975. Nearly 49 years. I am dying and it's rough. I am so very happy with the Love of my life. She has my strength. Tina,I Love you so much
Ray Price is one of the absolute best. He is a reflection of what true country music is. Of all the great Ray Price songs my favorite is "I Wish I Was 18 Again". I will be 79 in a couple of months so I certainly feel the emotion of this song. I can only speak for myself, but I believe most of us wish we could be 18 again.
You speak for me too . I'm 79 and still love to listen to the 'old' crooners sing those sweet ballads . George Burns did a nice job on this song as well , and my father sang it while playing his piano about 20 years ago and he taped it for me . Cheers !
I’m 86 and married at 18, so yes, I would love to be 18 again so that I could marry my wife of 69 years again. By the way I love to listen to the great Ray Price.
Gary I take my hat off to you. You are so right about the age you reflected on this song. I am almost 74 and started listening to Ray in 1950 and GOD I have had a wonderful life. Best of luck to you
This has been my anthem for the last 40 years! I once said if I could go back to being 18 I would do it all differently. But if I did I would miss out on having my wonderful daughters and Granddaughters. Still sometimes I wish I was 18 again. I’m 73.
One of the most beautiful country balladeers of all time. His voice was liquid silk, and the emotion was effortless and genuine. Thanks for the memories, Ray.
All of my old friends have long passed away, their memory has moved in to stay; dining and dancing are now at an end, oh I wish I was eighteen again. I`m 90 and this sure rings a bell.
where are the good-hearted gentle men like Ray today? Such precious memories of my dad taking my mom's hand on Saturday night in the den by the fireplace to waltz to Ray Price
Dying of Pancreatic cancer he did an album Beauty Is and dedicated to his wife Janie. He would stay in the music venue and sign or shake any hand his whole career. By the time (Being last) in line, he signed everything for me. He did not make me feel rushed but appreciated. He never took a dime from songwriters for songs he sang. His songs are timeless. They say his Voice in the final album when he was in extreme pain from end stage pancreatitis cancer Did not require any musical enhancements. The older I get the how soo many old greats gear forgotten. Recall as a kid listening to 78 real thick records and because of the bad recordings I just trashed all those records. Now most don’t know what a 78 record was.
When I was 18, I graduated from high school, and married my 20 year old sweetheart. He has been gone almost 3 years now. We had 50 years... not counting the dating years. And I wish we could do it all again..,,
I am 72. I get it. My niece called me old not long ago. I said yeah you are right, but I saw things live you only read about in history books, heard groups, and singers at their prime, and saw entertainers on Ed Sullivan of my parents and grandparents time, before the curtain fell for them forever. I saw America go from the peaceful sleepy 50's, to the mess it is today, and it all took about 37 seconds, which you will not begin to understand till you are old too.
Exactly. We know the REAL history. We don’t need these new fake accounts of what happened 50 or 60 years ago. We were there and the news was not fake like today. We are fed pure bull everyday that back in the day would not be aired.
I`m 86 and this song sure rings true. Well done by one of the country greats. I do the song a lot and thought it needed a 4th verse at the end so I wrote the following: All of my old friends have long passed away, their memory has moved in to stay; dining and dancing are now at an end, I wish I was eighteen again. RIP Mr.Price. You`re greatly missed.
Amazing how many "old" people are actually on youtube. Just a few years ago i was in my teens and thinking it was exclusively teenagers and people in their 20s. And I sure love you guys much more than the think-know-it-all 30-50 yo crowd obsessed with money and their careers until they hit their mid-life crisis and realize they wond find happiness there. I am 77 and this song really hits home. Ray Price is a great singer, the first song I heard him sing was For the Good Time, still my favorite. I am sorry he is gone but he is singing in heaven

Thank you Mr. Price for the years of enjoyment you brought us and this song is extremely touching as we all get older. RIP.

Got to see this Gentleman within a year before his death. Didn't remember his name. Shed a few tears through the whole concert, knowing I grew up listening to him. He still sounded as great then as he did in my younger days. And this song brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it.
I love this song! I cried when you passed away, Ray. I grew up listening to your records thanks to my parents having a few of them! I knew all the words to “Grazing in Greener Pastures” at a young age.
These dislike idiots are exactly that IDIOTS..... What a Great voice from a Great man....sad you have left us Mr. Price but you did leave us "Beauty is" Many thanks RIP
The ones who dislike this don't truly appreciate true country music!! They would rather see these new singers act like idiots who jump around on stage and have to have flashy lights to get people to watch them. Thanks Ray for you music - you'll never be forgotten!!
Who thinks a so called country song should be singing about naming the dog - seems a bit silly to me. Give me the old traditional country music any day 💗. To each his own I suppose .
This is so awesome to run into. I ran the closeup floor camera and edited this concert back in 2008 I believe. This was such a wonderful concert and brings back some great memories. His voice was truly timeless!
Listened to this 5 months ago, and now it has even deeper meaning, with my younger sister having died 2 months ago, without advance warning. Life is fleeting - Young folks, enjoy and savor the days of your youth, for one day you will be in my shoes.
I'm 71 now and just barely making it through each new day. but even so thankful for every minute & second. Yes. how nice to be 18 again and in love with the beauty, eyes & body & soul of a young woman or girl. this simple song & lyric said it so very well.
turning 53 in 2 weeks and really not looking forward to another year older is just like creeping closer to the end. I also feel I was 18 again. All of the mistakes in my life wish for a do over again. I feel that I let time pass me by and I really wish I were young again to take life slower and learn to enjoy things that I had missed or messed up to turn the wrong right and not be so sad of turning another year older and still all alone. Ray sang this song with all the passion and meaning to the song. I suppose most all of us that are much older wish to be young and do at least some things totally different and correct the mistakes we happen to regret. Granted I`m not an older man than many but, still if I can step back looking at the thoughts of so man who wish they were 18 again. Thoughts slow down learn to enjoy life as we have it coming as we keep growing older. Thanks, Ray for the beautiful song as you have sung it.
I wa, in his, latter years a Freind of Ray's. One evening, while sharing a bottle of sour mash Bourbon Whiskey, on his tour bus I asked him if he really wished he was 18 again. He answered in the affirmative. I told him that I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, but hetold me that if he was 18 again, he could have 60 more years to entertain folks with his music. That was the last conversation I ever had with my Frein, he passed shortly thereafter. Makes me wish he could've been 18 again. Isorely miss Ray!
We saw Ray in concert. He was great and in his 80s still singing as good as ever. Treasure the music I have of his. Which I was eighteen again. Thanks for sharing 😊
Ray sings every word of every song with such conviction. A gift not many posses. I get so emotional when I listen to him, that voice draws out every emotion from the core...
Circumstances, allows me to understand this song and many others. I was blessed to have the opportunity to see Mr. Ray Price in Las Vegas Nevada. I will forever love you Ray. Thanks for it ALL🙏🌹❤️👈🏼
I met my wife when she was 15 and I was 18. We had 2 dates and neither of us ever dated anyone else again.we were married 60 years and she passed. That was 6 years ago and the heartaches never end but I know I will see her soon. I love her so much!
This is so compelling, and true. Nobody really understands being old and full of regrets until it happens to them. I have a lot of regrets in my life, and things that could have gone very differently had I made better decisions. Perhaps I have more regrets than most because of the way my life has gone (which I would never wish upon anyone). There is a sorrow here. What I am looking for is hope.
@@mickeypastor5130 Well, I got a "menial" job usually held by younger people. Even the socialization is helping me. Plus I have self-published two novels on Amazon...

What a fantastic song. Thank Ray for this memory... I'm 55.
He's great!!!! He was always a great singer!!! I just love him!!
To be 18 again . To change the mistakes and wrongs I've done . To love once again .
Oh, one of my favorite man singer...❤❤❤❤
Ray sings every word of every song with such conviction. A gift not many posses. I get so emotional when I listen to him, that voice draws out every emotion from the core...
Ray Price...the Rembrandt of country music. A true legend. Farewell, Ray.
I can't hold my tears by listening that touching song.

What a great man and a great voice, which tells the story of many of our lives! When you left us Mr. Price, we lost a true legend.
Great voice and a great man.
I love her so much!
it sounds like you were a very lucky man, God bless
She was my friend and sweetie. I can't wait to see her again and see her beautiful face again!
Ray Price's songs are a fountain of youth!
I have this CD. My advice is to get it.
His voice actually got better as he aged!
No one under the age of 70 can appreciate the profound beauty of these lyrics nor rays amazing emotion to tthem.
I can relate to this song and I was born in 1950
So do I. So I could do things over. Who dont. I do too. Love this song and video. Thanks
What I am looking for is hope.
im 56 came upon your post. did any thing improve?
@@mickeypastor5130 Well, I got a "menial" job usually held by younger people. Even the socialization is helping me. Plus I have self-published two novels on Amazon...
Look to Jesus.
So glad I got to see Ray perform on stage in Branson.
He is one of the greatest singers. We miss you Ray.
The Most Respectable Man In Country Music . What An Incredible Sensitive Voice , Like Know One Today .
Great memories of my gramps. He loved Ray Price. They will never make them like this again.
Gosh was this beautiful! I wish I was 18 again!
Another great one gone - how sad, but thanx for the memories, and the recordings.
Great song thanks Ray
What a treasure,, to have the opportunity to enjoy these true county legends!
These kids now a days can't sing a lick!!!
It just don't get no better than this, one of the best voices that ever recorded a Country song. 5/26/18
You are thankfully for his voice. I am regretfully for the loss of his friendship. There was much more to my freind, Ray, than just his voice.
No auto tune on his piano tuner either!
A lot of Class Ray..Wish Modern Country had the same SOUL..This is when Country Stood up to all kinds of Music..
Give Ray Price the phone book to sing and he would turn it into a memorable ballad!
At 61 I listen to this beautiful song and will value each day forward 😌
After fighting traffic, in my semi truck, in our some of biggest cities, for miles and hours at a time. It sure was nice to put on some Ray Price and relax and feel calm before stopping for my break and bed time. Mr. Price I want to thank you and your family for the memory's.
AMEN !
Ray had such a soft and relaxing vibrato to his tone that even after a day of never ending miles, he quieted my subconscious and I could relax.
Only that white line fever understands... 😖
One of the greatest country singers of our time!
Heartwarming...Ray Price is the best ever.
Hello 😍😍beautiful
What a wonderful voice Ray has, and such a beautiful song His voice and songs are priceless
My all time favorite. RIP
Ray Price had a voice that one would never tire listening to. He seemed to get better with age. I enjoyed all the beautiful photos. Brings back memories of my dear love of 48 years. He was such a fan of the old country music and enjoyed singing them to me. Thanks as always for posting.
