I'm planning to go part time into full time with eBay hopefully you guys gave me a good idea of checking my closet for stuff to sell because I got so many clothes I was gonna throw out that I'll try and sell!!
I sold on eBay about fifteen years ago. A few things have changed but I did really well. Mary gave the best tip and one I believe to be true. Find your niche. I bought and sold vintage Barbies. I know more about Barbies than a grown woman should know.
Linda Lawrence wow i know vintage barbies do well. I had barbies growing up and i was so mad at my mom for giving them away a few years ago 😂 they’re not the same as the 90s. I remember when the pregnant barbie came out and it was very controversial because the stomach just comes off 😆 i know that one sold for a lot a few years ago. Mary and I talking about finding the niche that you know best, otherwise it requires a looot of research lol
I re sell on eBay as well and I highly recommend the completely app for sourcing! It tells you average cost that something sold for, sell through rate and days it took to sell. It is so so so useful and game changing!!
Just me, but I would never drop my packages in a mail box. I either give them to my mail carrier if I only have 1-2 or take them to the post office and get my packages scanned with a receipt.
thanks this was so helpful. I remember watching your video back in 2019, wanting to push this forward then placed on hold and found myself looking again for the video because i have two full boxes of clothes i need to get rid of....i couldnt remember the title of your video so i thought it was taken down but so happy to have3 found it... This video was very detailed and helpful , especially the measurement section....i needed to see what she was measuring and how..... is there anyway you can do a Part 2 to the video to show how she goes from writing it down on paper to transferring it to her laptop, to then putting the item on sale and how she writes and decides on the description for the item, does she edit the photos or posts as is....and finalize @ the point of sale.....or ask her if she could do her own video from purchase to sale point...show what it cost her, how much time she spent on getting the item from thrift store to ebay posting(pictures taken, measurements, description and post) and final sale along with her final take home pay? ...step by step on 1-5 items? this would be extremely helpful....she seems very organized and i think that is the key to her success....it would be so helpful to have her break down and show her spreadsheet , how she labels and packs things and how she keeps track of things in her spreadsheet inventory to her physical inventory....
Interesting take. I just started reselling and using ebay a little over a month now. First month did just under $5,000 and i find that i average about 5 sales a day with more on weekends and i'm only at 150 listings. BTW a couple weeks in I invested in a Dymo because i knew i'd fly through ink and cutting and taping the labels was a HUGE waste of time.
You should put a measuring tape...foam double sided sticky...stuck to the edge of your desk and then hold the item up to the measuring tape. Then you won't have to work on the floor...you can have your notebook on your desk. Lay the clothing items over the back of your chair...on your chair. Much better on your body and you won't get lint/dirt on the clothes...not that your house looks messy, but again...just better on your body.
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd your home her home? I forgot. lol Also the video and the editing were very good. You both seem like really nice people and fun. Keep up the good work

I've been reslling on/off on the side for the last couple of years. I started with clothing, and while I still sell some clothes here and there (more specialty brands and vintage), the roi for the amount of time and effort put into it is, for the most part, not worth it. Its quite a bit of work to take pictures, measure, list, organize, package, and ship. On top of that, the clothing market seems to have gotten highly saturated over the last couple years. Lots of sellers have entered the market and undercut each other..all the while shipping has incrementally gone up. Then again, I don't mettle in much female clothing, so maybe there is more opportunity there. All in all, I'm impressed in the organization and hustle that this reseller has to make it work full time.
Yeah I agree on some points you have. It has gotten very competitive but there is still opportunity. I sell part-time and find things all the time at my local thrift stores, but it's not like i find 30 things in one day that sell more than $50. I think what makes reselling better is to niche down. If apparel doesn't work for you, there's a lot of other things you can sell :) Thanks so much for your input!
I have been selling on Ebay for 7 years. 5 years fulltime. I sell used auto parts. Luckily I don't have many returns. Maybe 1 every couple months or so. I have been wanting to start another Ebay store to add another avenue of income. I like the buying and selling clothes from thrift store idea. My only concern is returns. People wanting to return stuff because they don't fit. Does this happen a lot?
Theres an option that opts you out of returns. I have it on bc i also don’t like dealing with returns haha, but if you do this you have to make sure you’re describing everything about the item so the buyer doesnt claim that its not as described. I actually made a video about this which will be ready either Monday or Tuesday :) stay tuned!
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd Good idea! I didn't think of that. I have often stumbled across these videos of people buying stuff at discount stores or thrift stores and selling it online for profit. Looks like fun. I tried telling my wife she should try it out. I think she'd be great at it! There was a time she was in between jobs. We were shopping at Ross. I explained to her how people buy stuff at Ross and flip it. She was skeptic. I said watch, I'll show you. I walked around and stumbled across a glass mannequin head. For some reason I thought this is weird but weird sells. I checked price, it was $6. I looked on Ebay under sold and noticed similar ones have consistently sold in past in the $30 - $40 range. So I brought it to my wife and said LOOK! I'm going to sell this and make money. Here I am trying to convince her of this idea and I'm in the middle of Ross holding up a glass head. She just rolled her eyes and said your wasting your money. So I bought it anyways. Went home posted it on Ebay and it sold for $40, including shipping in less than 24 hours. So for my first attempt I think I did pretty good. I enjoyed your video.

I like your organizational skills. I saw you do something on weighing item that is wrong according to the USPS. I saw you weigh item 6.6 without the label, then charge 6 oz. I got nasty email from ebay that when its scanned at post office, they check if its correct or not. I had about 15 items that were 1 oz off and a few more, 1 less. They took those pennies and gave me a lecture and told me that I needed to put exact postage including the package and label. I have been selling for a while now. Just a note for you, not telling you how to run your business. You are very informative. Thanks

Hi Jessica I found this video and that you and Mary for sharing ur business I have a question I sow ur shipping plz advise where can I get the package to ship my product
I been doing eBay since 2007 and only sell as hobby things I don’t need around the house this year I checked and I made £7000 since 2007 so thought to my self hmmm I might take it bit more serious this year, I know it’s not a lot for that many years but I only use to post 5 items when they sell I posted more but now I have 100 items and sells way quicker last year alone I made £1000 so def works how she explained the more you post more you sell, I work in garage so we always have car badges to scrap so I sell them and they sell like crazy for me. It’s definelty good little side money
DarkAngel i’m also a PT seller on eBay and agree that once you find those products that sell fast, you can def make a good amount of cash on the side. Its a great way to start a side hustle
If you drop the items in a mailbox, you don’t have any proof you actually shipped the items, right? So the seller could say it wasn’t. Delivered even though it was... I take it to the post office and get a receipt even if it costs more.
WatchMePlay i remember her saying one time that she orders it from ebay? I think ebay may have a store too. But you can find really good deals on shipping materials from other sellers on ebay
Yeah I noticed that as well. 6.6 oz would be a 7 oz shipping rate. Not 6 oz. I stopped the video immediately cause I was like ... Was she not paying attention? What happened there?
Loved it!!! But where did she get her shelves and totes in the shelves? Sizes would be great to know also. Please let me know. I don’t sell on eBay, I sell locally. And really need a shelving system like that...I’m so sick of the mess. Lol. I can’t ask her on Instagram....I don’t do Instagram.
That's a great questions! I'm not really sure! I'll ask her the next time I see her. I think it really depends on the average size of your items. Since hers is apparel, I think she kept that in mind when buying the shelves :)
Jennifer Suson Walker I’m not sure if there’s a specific law (maybe an import law?) but I actually worked at Coach years ago and it was very frowned upon. Our manager would call security and try to kick resellers out.
Hi! Not sure exactly where she got them but I've seen a variation of the shelves at Target and IKEA. Especially IKEA. They let you customize how many shelves you want :) hope that helps
Myles Reed Cook it really depends on the packaging and weight. So for like a tank top for first class it’d be a little under $3. Media mail is cheaper and shoes would cost more because its bulkier and heavier. It all depends on that but ebay gives you the options when you sell something! You have to input the box dimensions and weight in ounces and it’ll give you the prices there :)
I want to try and earn $200 a week. How do I get started on EBay legally? I know at the end of the year there is a self employment tax I would need to pay but do I need a sells permit or some kind of business license? I just want to resell good finds..do I really need to create an entire business?
I was wondering if you can answer a question I had asked other people but the never answer, is actually about the clothes that you buy. Do you wash it before you stored it?
Edita A hey! I personally don’t unless there is a stain that I know will come off with washing it. Most people when they buy end up washing their clothes first thing upon receiving them, so i don’t make it a priority. You can DM her on instagram if you’re interested in her answer :) @feelgoodfindz
you're supposed to wash them, but whenever I pick up items that are brand new with tags I don't wash because then they wouldnt be brand new anymore. Also, I always hope and think that the buyer will wash them once receiving. I even wash my clothes if I bought them brand new at the store haha
How do you resell clothes? I always find it hard to sell clothes. Me and my wife started making our own T shirts and design like we could put your name and logo or whatever you'd like. I just can't think of an idea of listing to drag attention to buyers.
Jesse Pinkman thats awesome! I know some people that also print shirts and do really well! I found that I was good at scoping out the more expensive brands. I knew what felt high quality and what didn’t and what was trending and what was “so last years”. Once you find what works you go looking for those brands like Lululemon, Uggs, kate spade, birkenstock etc. Now whenever I enter a store I look at the athletic section first, then shoes, then if theres nothing there I really really dig everywhere else 😂 sometimes I feel like I’m swimming in clothes
Alejandro Pequeno ive see people doing really well right now. I have experienced the opposite. Not many sales and I havent gone thrifting because we are quarantined and most places are closed 🤷🏽♀️ hope youre well! Stay safe!

Hello. I really enjoyed this Vlog! I was just wondering do you have a set amount that you shoot for each day/time you thrift/source to make from sales. I just started reselling as a side gig and I tell myself I need to find enough things to sell to make 125 profit. Thanks for any info. TAKE CARE!
Brett Lott thats a good question! I wish I could say that you’ll walk out of a thrift store with enough things to sell and make 125 profit but it’s just not so consistent unless you got to multiple locations. There will be times you’ll walk out with nothing, and some days you’ll walk out with soo much. You kind of go in there hoping for the best 😊
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd Thanks for replying. Your right there are times when I'm lucky to get the money back I spent thrifting. You buy something that shows that it sold on ebay recently but when I go to list my item it seems to SIT 4EVER LOL. Take Care
I just posted today, I can't use my account (they said I moved here in the US they need to verify summer information yada yada, and there's no customer service) so i just used my husband's account. I sold 2 items right away I posted 5 am this morning.. However i can't figure out how to put an option that i have more item to sell so buyer can choose the quantity..
Jennifer Suson Walker hi! If you’re planning on selling full time yes! You will need a sellers permit. If you’re only selling things out of your home that you bought at full price you do not. Eventually every seller that takes reselling seriously will need a sellers permit.
L L i definitely do best offers with my free shipping. Especially for items that have been listed for a while and i just want to get rid of. Im not sure what Mary does but you can ask her on instagram :)
I’m going to repeat what everyone says 😂 sorry if you’ve heard this before but find your niche!! Also like Mary suggests in the video, try reselling some clothes you don’t wear anymore. Or things around the house. Then use that money to buy from thrift stores or garage sales. Hope that helps! 😊
Always keep track of your half off days, I always make a full day of it when it comes around. I personally sell a lot of kitchen appliance parts and I converted my garage to be my warehouse.

it uses laser - no ink
Hi Jessica I found this video and that you and Mary for sharing ur business I have a question I sow ur shipping plz advise where can I get the package to ship my product
What item to start with?

Thank you for sharing this video. Love ebay
Erica Scotti glad it was helpful!
Keep it up jessica...love ur video fun to watch and informative lol✌👍
Ramone Henry thank you!!! :)
Do u have a link to ur scale?
Thanks for your input :) appreciate it!
If you drop the items in a mailbox, you don’t have any proof you actually shipped the items, right? So the seller could say it wasn’t. Delivered even though it was... I take it to the post office and get a receipt even if it costs more.
As long as they scan it that's enough proof that it was shipped :)
Shouldn’t you have rounded up to 7 oz.? Or have I been doing it wrong.
Hey could you ask your friend where did she purchase her shipping bags what’s she’s putting the clothes in.
WatchMePlay i remember her saying one time that she orders it from ebay? I think ebay may have a store too. But you can find really good deals on shipping materials from other sellers on ebay
Jessica Lopez Ok thank you yea I found a lot on amazon as well.
Excellent video
Myrrhe Nazare thank you! 😬😊
Always round up for postage not down. Your customer could end up paying the difference and give bad feedback.
Yeah I noticed that as well. 6.6 oz would be a 7 oz shipping rate. Not 6 oz. I stopped the video immediately cause I was like ... Was she not paying attention? What happened there?
Awesome video! Just subscribed to your channel!!!
Woooo Mary! Feelgoodfindzzzzzzz EXPOSED!
EXPOSED! 😂
Love your personalities. Fun to watch!
thank you!
Great video! what dymo label printer was that?
painttheworldgrey ah thats a good questions im not sure! You can ask her on instagram
Can we buy NEW ORIGINAL BAGS like COACH or something and sell onljne, is it legal? Or is reselling original items legal?
Jennifer Suson Walker I’m not sure if there’s a specific law (maybe an import law?) but I actually worked at Coach years ago and it was very frowned upon. Our manager would call security and try to kick resellers out.
Question about photography ; lighting.? Can you give me more info ?
Where did u get your storage units (cabinets/ drawers) ?..
Hi! Not sure exactly where she got them but I've seen a variation of the shelves at Target and IKEA. Especially IKEA. They let you customize how many shelves you want :) hope that helps
Jessica Lopez it sure did thanks !!
@Jessica Lopez what is the average price for shipping on ebay? Do you go by pounds or what? im new please help. Thanks
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd alright thank you for responding so quick!
Thank you, I appreciate your help.
Congrats on 154 subs👍 I just hit 250 a few days ago 🙏
Flippin' Profit thanks!!! Congrats to you too! Lets hit 1k soon :)
At what point do you wash the item? You don't send them without washing - do you?
you're supposed to wash them, but whenever I pick up items that are brand new with tags I don't wash because then they wouldnt be brand new anymore. Also, I always hope and think that the buyer will wash them once receiving. I even wash my clothes if I bought them brand new at the store haha
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd Thanks - that makes sense.
So, what was the profit? That’s the most important thing!
Aww y'all are Beautiful/Pretty love the style.
Alejandro Pequeno thank you!! ☺️
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd no thank y'all, I subscribed, so I want to see more of your content. I like your positive vibe.. :) :)
Hey i have a question. How is the ebay business during the covid 19 crisis?
Alejandro Pequeno ive see people doing really well right now. I have experienced the opposite. Not many sales and I havent gone thrifting because we are quarantined and most places are closed 🤷🏽♀️ hope youre well! Stay safe!
wow seen this video, and lead me to cool channel!
new sub
super excited for new content!
Great video ♥️ I sell on Poshmark part time., pero tengo miedo lansarme a serlo full time.. que consejos podría dar tu amiga en ese tema? Más videos de vender por favor 🙏 1. Que vendió 2. Que compra. Saludos desde Houston Tx♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Zelenya Bowers 😊
Where did the get that printer to print out the tag? I’m starting out on eBay and trying to set up lol
l lllNOESCAPElll l i think she said she thrifted it? It’s a DYMO printer. I would look for a used on one ebay or facebook marketplace 🙃😉
I found some but some one them print small labels though lol I want to get the right one but thank you
Great Video!!!

Take Care
Where is the shelf storage system from? Mahalo!
hi! I'm not sure actually haha. Feel free to DM her on instagram :)
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd Mahalo!
I'm really interested to start listing on EBay!
Rishel Smith yess!! Let me know if you have any questions :) feel free to also reach out to Mary on Instagram!
Rishel Smith That’s awesome! Haha. Hopefully that gets settled soon. If you go edit the listing under “quantity” you can add more :)
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd I figured out.
Hello dear, as ebay reseller, do we need to get a sellers permit etc regarding online selling?
Jennifer Suson Walker hi! If you’re planning on selling full time yes! You will need a sellers permit. If you’re only selling things out of your home that you bought at full price you do not. Eventually every seller that takes reselling seriously will need a sellers permit.
Love the Video!
Does Mary use Best Offers with her Free Shipping?
L L i definitely do best offers with my free shipping. Especially for items that have been listed for a while and i just want to get rid of. Im not sure what Mary does but you can ask her on instagram :)
Yes more of these...
Are the items washed?
Sherri M. Breitner i will personally not wash the item if its in great condition. If there’s a stain i will try to wash it off :)
What about suspension account without any reason on eBay ???!!
Amouna Japoniya hmm not sure. Have you tried contacting them and asking them why your account was suspended?
I miss Paypal. The quick flip and getting money the same day was awesome. Money takes almost a week to hit your account with managed payments. Grrr
kissy kat sigh, yeah. It’s too bad for paypal. I liked how easy and fast it is too. Can they do apple pay? 🤣 jk
Hey I love your channel could you give me any tips to become a eBay seller as I am a beginner!
Michael Stone definitely! We would love a huge garage haha but living in LA that’d be $400 extra/mo 😂
@@JessicaLopez-sy1gd I was living in a townhouse and had to upgrade to a house since the business expanded past our living quarters. With the extra space our income went up.
