What he did is not illegal, but it goes against code of ethics. He's supposed to be the role model and leadership for his department. These things don't stay quiet.
He needs to step down. If he stays it will create an environment of mistrust and cost the department lots of money through litigation.
Do liberal socialists have codes for ethics? Where? Are they constrained to relative views like those liberals that supported the hormone treatment of kids vs. the few ones with common sense?

I live in Montgomery, AL and our former police chief that left after resigning under a cloud of a sexual harassment investigation, has also applied for the Austin, TX top cop slot. Our former chief, Darryl Albert, also had a cloud of the same issue when he was an Assistant Chief in New Orleans.

Then her family friend was caught raping a girl in their family. The rapist was mysteriously never charged because. That cop later become a Sargent. After many accusations of misconduct and countless affairs he moved to Texas. Some of these officers are sick

Well to answer the question about if a chief could get another job with his past…. Dyer had quite the past and plenty of questions about his career as Police Chief of Fresno, yet some how he got elected as mayor.

Paco resigned! This affair started 2 years ago. When the city found out is still not known. In fact the whole investigation has been hush, hush. It smells like the city new much earlier but Paco has friends in high places and the city hoped it would simply go away, which it did not. If Paco had just had an affair I would have said no big deal to get fired over. But a fellow officer's wife and for 2 years, bye, bye! And I bet she was not the only one?

It’s unfortunate that he tarnished his position but it takes two to tangle it would be interesting if the full story ever come out it the other officer was aware of the cheating and what fault she the officers wife had allowing for this affair to occur as well.

Its not a crime but Religiosity and imtimacy between consenting adults aside his more than 2 year affair with another officers wife makes him UNFIT for a leadership role. He maybe a competent officer but he is UNFIT to lead as Police Chief. Actions have consequences...
