I feel like the whole, you can’t survive by a HP decimal is not really accurate. I think people forget Frisk did the same thing when they blasted with an attack they should have killed them, but they survived lower than 0.00001 HP. Basically, they cheated, like the whole 2 attacks at once in the base game. And Sans is, by his nature, a cheater, so why can’t he cheat death itself? Also, Gaster probably knew about Frisk cheating off Asriel’s final attack since he is essentially the admin, so he applied the same logic to Sans against the player’s “final” attack. Phase 2 represents Sans accepting he will never beat you, but he won’t just let you win. Not without the second chance from Gaster. So he really is going to give it his all, cheating at his fullest. The whole orange bone not being implemented might be a reference of Sans actually cheating in Phase 2, not holding on his dirty tricks. Think about that.
Bro why are you trying to pit them against eachother? These two are without a doubt the best fangames in the undertale community and it is just amplified with Help From The Void where it's both of them at once, THAT I believe is peak fanon. Edit: I feel like the OG Last Breath and Disbelief feel very much like something that could be in the actual Undertale game as secret bosses, the style of the characters and music feels very much like original Undertale. Second edit: The best Disbelief song is the first phase and it isn't even an original song that he made, it was someone else's song who didn't even know about Undertale.
There is 2 things which I dislike in Disbelief story: how Papyrus looks and his strength 1st is can be explended by the time then Disbelief was created. Everyone made Sans with scarf and burning eye, so this went to Disbelief But 2nd... I know that Undyne said that Papyrus is super strong, but this is overkill. He got blaster and orange bones and no one tried to explained that. He changes the battle box and moves interface. And phantoms which are not real. But what are they? Papyrus's magic fused with memories and power boost? In nearly all "genocide papyrus fight" AUs his powers was explainded (rejuvenation, Revenge: Unseen Ending, some AT there sans ghost taught Papyrus knew abilities (forgot the name)). And in Disbelief they just exist. In LB all new abilities sans learned from Gaster, which at least something
Disbelief goes through the 5 stage of grief just in a different order Phase 1:depression Phase 2: anger Phase 3:denial Phase 4: bargaining End:acceptance
Can only think of 2 attacks that could accomplish this, neither have a very big likelyhood of happening, mostly because the attacks cut off so it doesn't hit you.
If you use Last Breath old, that mean is Undertale Last Breath hardmode, and in Canon phase 2 Last Breath Sans already being possesed by Gaster, anyway do you watch FV Last Breath Sans Vs Last genocide Sans part 1 and part 2 fight Animation
i completely disagree on phase 2 being bad, it fits LB perfect and if the author were to, indeed, remove it i think last breath would lose a lot of what makes it special imo. like it makes sense he survives, gaster literally blocks the attack and absorbs most of the hit, and like if you can't accept gaster as that sort of plot device then lb isn't really anything really, it's like going to a superhero movie and complaining that superpowers exist, you gotta be like ''okay, this is this version of gaster, this is what his powers are, roll with it" otherwise it's just kinda of a big waste of time imo. regardles, i vastly, vaaastly prefer last breath, it's not even a competition imo, to me it's the coolest au out there in the whole undertale fandom, rivaled only by nightmare mode sans from the indie cross stuff. which tbh i feel like that like, pairing would make a lot more sense than last breath and disbelief because those are kinda very much different aus with very different objectives. disbelief is more of a introspective into papyrus's character and what he would do under pressure while last breath is a exercise in awesomeness, the story there is more just to fuel the coolness that is phase 2 and 3, it's not trying to make a deeper point, it's not trying to be deep and introspective, it's there to give you a awesome version of sans and a awesome fight imo. anyways, the video was neat, even if you bashing my favorite au all the time got pretty frustrating, but regardless of how i feel, it was a well made video.
Saying it’s not a competition is kinda crazy lol The only reason why I was so baffled and turned off by Phase 2 specifically is cause it doesn’t make sense writing wise and by just the logic Toby Fox Laid out. Having Sans survive with less then 1 Hp is just weird. That’s why Zerjox when he was initially making the remaster of Lb he was gonna gut it cause if he kept it how it was it would make no sense writing wise and I think he wanted to still keep it inline with what Undertale is and not stray to levels that doesn’t make sense in the logic of Undertale. I much prefer how the Remaster did it where Sans just used a bottle to block the hit while still keeping the slash mark. I just wish a much more clever way like that was used than what Zerjox kept with in the Legacy version. A lot of my issues with Lb mainly come from the game it self and how terribly coded it was compared to Disbelief, since LB is also a Game. And really not the story anyway outside of Phase 2. I love phase 3 just like anyone else lol
I Agree about the last breath phase 2 thing, but just going "hahahah 0.00000001 hp omg Zerjox dumb "is kinda funny to me cause that litterally happens at the end of pacifist route undertale. I Understand the point, I just think it was poorly explained
Wow and i thought i was bad in last breath and thought i was just whining thinking it was unfair but now that i am not the only one saying it's unfair i say what i said is valid lol
I wouldn't full know since the game never got fully released, but from footage i have seen It definitely wouldve been one of the best up there in the top 10 UT Fangames. And that OST goes nuts
“That was an intentional obstruction of the menu by Sans. The blaster wasn't. In the OG game, the blaster attack cut off the moment you went into the menu, meaning you could not get hit.” -Quote from another comment Bassically, when you got hit in the menu it was intentional When you get hit by blaster, it’s not intentional
In other words, someone was too lazy to implement a feature that cancelled an attack once it finished, you could literally check this if you went into the sans fight and looked at a blaster attack and see it gets cut off.
In my opinion phase 3 of disbelief doesn't make sense to me since how would he revive people? Also papyrus died in 1 hit so phase 3 kinda doesn't make sence granted he can change his stats in the genocide ending but I wouldn't say that's cannon since thats like saying that sans and papyrus can sweat toby used it for tention so in my opinion that's fannon also i would say that this is your opinion since that i find the story of disbelief less believable and NO that is not because i like sans its because papyrus would die in 1 hit in phase 3 have you seen the dmg chara does? Also how does papyrus never get tired he doesn't just have infinite stamina i mean sure people say papyrus is really strong but it's once again fannon and i will not believe that papyrus is strong just because undyne said "papyrus is actually pretty fricking tough" and people also say that "toby stole papyrus's speciall attack because it will kill the player and sure while that is somewhat valid toby also appears in a bunch of moments for fun like stealing the bone under papyrus's sink and also it was never confirmed that papyrus can use gaster blasters also he deals 1 dmg per millisecond which is again fannon and while sure gaster controlling is fannon and gaster using wingdings as attacks is also fannon but it's more believable that disbelief to me also he didn't talk about how asgore for the first time DID HIS JOB
Use punctuation jesus unholy christ, please. I don't think he revived anyone in phase 3. He just thought he did. They were more like... phantoms of the past. Not an actual threat. That's why when the realization sets in and everything calms down, they disappear. The massive damage you deal happens to monsters that are not prepared for an attack or refuse to fight. Toriel doesn't actually want to fight. Papyrus refuses to fight. Mettaton has no armor. Undyne is caught offguard by the damage. Sans has 1 HP anyway. Asgore offers tea instead of fighting. Muffet and normal monsters come to mind, but I feel like that's just you dealing enough damage to kill basic B stuff. Also Papyrus does get tired somewhat, but he does kind of take breaks in-between. At the end though he does fully give up pretty much. If Undyne says he's tough, you better believe it. Whatever that final attack he was robbed of was, it must have been good. I mean, his regular attack is already huge and grand. What was the special attack? Last breath is the least believable story ever and I would believe dusttale more. I think you just like Sans.
@@syep12 so you're going to tell me that Papyrus accidentally killing sans and doing a genocide run to overpower the human is different compared to Underswap sans doing the same exact thing? Nice logic you got.
@@idk-cj8mn you realize with that logic all dust au's are the same???? just because it follows the same concept doesn't mean the rest of the au is not different.
you forgot that papyrus holded back in his battle, never showed his special attack, has more hp than his brother, can literally walk on air, papyrus is a absolute unit
@@DeltaSanz yeah but I don't think papyrus being sad is gonna make him no longer hold back and have 4 phases also tbh revenge tue does the same concept way better papyrus actually destroys his pity aka the only thing keeping him from killing the human and he has only 2 phases instead of fucking 4
@@VirusFlexovitch also your saying lb makes sense? HOW THE FUCK IS SANS RUNNING ON 0.001 HP, HOW WOULD THE HUMAN EVEN DO THAT LOW DMG AS CHARA DID LIKE 999 BILLION DMG AGAINST SANS IN THE NORMAL SANS, WHERE THE FUCK IS GASTER COME FROM, HOW DID SANS LEARN ORANGE MOVES FROM GASTER? HOW DID GASTER KNOW ORANGE MOVES IN THE FIRST PLACE? HOW IS THE PHASE 3 FIGHT EVEN POSSIBLE?! HOW IS SANS FLIPPING THE SCREEN IN PHASE 2 WITHOUT GASTERS HELP?!
I watched this vid many days ago butttt ... U could've at least put some content on what story does LB play I mean U literally just said HE DOESNT DIE AND THATS IT I'm pretty sure you are just inconsiderate
Last breath story in a nutshell: Player does 30 genocides (For some reason, literally the most boring route). Gaster does stuff I guess. He fights harder I guess. He gets hit but DOESN'T DIE WHAAAT?!?! GASTER BLOCKED THE ATTACK, WOAAAAH!!! Sans is now... 0.0001 HP somehow. He fights... harder? Edgy gaster stuff. Asgore happens and that is literally the best part of the fangame. Sans doesn't die AND fights harder.
in the soundtrack, it's a tie in the gameplay, disbelief phases are kinda short, which makes the phase 1 a bit easy, phase 2 is hell, phase 3 starts easy, it's hell too, phase 4 is a bit hard to me, hitboxes are actually good compared to last breath, and u can actually get badges which makes it less boring, no hitting disbelief is a really good and hard challenge, last breath gameplay is well, hitboxes are for example, when u on the bone it doesn't hit but when ur not in the bone it hits u, basically sans has nano bones in the air, orange bones are just broken like video said, and gaster blasters hitting u in the menu is a bit odd, i can live with blue soul thing, but it's way worse than other fangames, due to hitboxes phase 1 and 2 are just impossible to no hit and there is some proof of people no hitting phase 3 but it's still almost impossible, basically in gameplay dusttale last genocide is better, but disbelief wins to last breath
recently there has been a more "canon to undertale" take to disbelief called papyrus' belief and honestly i feel like he's better written in that version and fits his character much more, although based on the gameplay and writing i would still kinda prefer disbelief
It's... literally not "more canon to undertale", though. That's just the creator presenting their AU as "popular AU, but better!!!1!" for the sake of free publicity. Beyond the basic idea of "sans snowdin fight, Papyrus last corridor fight", they don't really have anything in common. Disbelief is very accurate to Papyrus' character, it's just a bit more serious due to the context of the fight. Papyrus' belief is goofy, which is fine if you prefer that, but its not any more in character than Disbelief's more serious attempt at showing a grieving Papyrus thrust into a difficult situation that challenges even his ability to see the best in everyone.
@@Missingno_Miner honestly, i just think that pap belief is more to what papyrus would _actually_ do, at least when shown in undertale. disbelief is more well written and definetely portrays his character better, but it's just in my opinion that seeing both aus, papyrus' belief would more likely happen in undertale than disbelief. looking at it, i don't really think it would be a "toby fox" thing to do to add 4 phases of a fight for papyrus, despite it's superior writing (for me) and more undertale-like music. tldr i kinda just mean that papb is more undertale-y in terms of writing compared to disbeef but im not really an enthusiast in the characters' writing and i dont really do my research with it either so maybe i _am_ wrong, but it's just from what i've seen
@@xiaoturtle1924 I think it's pretty pointless to argue about what is and isn't a "Toby Fox" thing to do, and even more pointless to judge the quality of an AU based off that. In the end, only he knows what he would and wouldn't do, and we ultimately don't even have that much to go off: Toby's only made one full game, after all. What we do know is that Toby does frequently use phases in Undertale, so while he doesn't have a fight with four distinct phases, it's certainly not that unrealistic. In the end, both AUs portray Papyrus in a decently canon-compliant manner, with Belief focusing more on his goofier side and having him be oblivious to the bad things happening, and Disbelief focusing more on his reaction to the rather traumatic events unfolding around him. Which you prefer is ultimately up to you. My only real objection to Belief is how its entire stated premise is "popular AU but better", despite the fact that beyond the basic concept of "Sans fight happens sooner, Papyrus is a later boss with an actual battle', the two have almost nothing in common. It puts a bad taste in my mouth, to say the least. It ultimately feels like it's trying to use Disbelief for cheap recognition points while simultaneously putting it down, which is just a sh*tty thing to do in general.
@@Missingno_Miner since when is it putting it down lol It only considers a different take on Disbelief. I hardly believe it's using disbelief as a piggyback thing. It's a papyrus fight. It's gonna be popular no matter what, it's one of the skeletons. It could call itself Papyrus' Bazinga and everyone would flock it. It's just a different contrast to disbelief. Disbelief is more of a crybaby. Belief is more goofy and shows his optimism more. Weird thing to feel so pressed about but I am pretty pressed about the existence of Dust AUs so we're even.
@@Missingno_Miner fair point i guess, we haven't seen much of what toby can/will do so i see why, i honestly cant choose between the two in terms of which one i would rather play overall though (also yeah true recently ive seen many """"different au takes"""" which try too hard to be original that in the end it just comes off as being unneccessary or extra, trying to be original for the sake of it or attempting to gain more publicity)
I might make this a series lol

Edit: I feel like the OG Last Breath and Disbelief feel very much like something that could be in the actual Undertale game as secret bosses, the style of the characters and music feels very much like original Undertale.
Second edit: The best Disbelief song is the first phase and it isn't even an original song that he made, it was someone else's song who didn't even know about Undertale.
Edit made me lol.
he is not its obviously his opinion and people are allowed to compare stuff, their is really no issue.
The creator is creating a retouched version
Interesting content keep up
There is 2 things which I dislike in Disbelief story: how Papyrus looks and his strength
1st is can be explended by the time then Disbelief was created. Everyone made Sans with scarf and burning eye, so this went to Disbelief
But 2nd...
In LB all new abilities sans learned from Gaster, which at least something
the next comparable ones are probably going to be storyshift, underswap and/or underfell
dustbelief and dusttrust.
both. both are good
Disbelief goes through the 5 stage of grief just in a different order
Phase 1:depression
Phase 2: anger
Phase 3:denial
Phase 4: bargaining
End:acceptance
There's actually no correct order for the 5 stages. Some people don't even go through all 5.
You should look at last genocide
You can be damaged on menu even on the original undertale by the asriel attacks
Can only think of 2 attacks that could accomplish this, neither have a very big likelyhood of happening, mostly because the attacks cut off so it doesn't hit you.
11:52
You need to explain this because this is important for musician
Now compare Dusttale: Last Genocide (the newer one) to (something, idk what you can compare it to really)
Dusttale last genocide wins 100%
@@Skibidy_rizzler_ fr
Uhh, guess he hasn't heard the news that disbelief is canceled too...
Both of them are cool
tbh, I feel like when doing recaps of the disbelief story it is important to say that tears in the rain is the prequal
Since when?
This isn’t canon to disbelief
love the video! keep it up.
If you use Last Breath old, that mean is Undertale Last Breath hardmode, and in Canon phase 2 Last Breath Sans already being possesed by Gaster, anyway do you watch FV Last Breath Sans Vs Last genocide Sans part 1 and part 2 fight Animation
You should check out Undertale: Help From The Void (No it’s not a copy of call from the void, it’s way different)
basicly imagine if lb and disbelief worked together, thats all help from the void is.
bro ant no way this man only has 607 subs SOMEBODY SUB THIS MAN RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!
You should compare undertale: help from the void with disbelif and last breath
last breath's orange bones only count left and right
Both I like both
Lb is really hard, which is what makes it good.
Disbelif vs Revenge the unseen ending would make a great video
And Disbelief and last breath combine
Into help from the void😂🔥
what was the name of the theme or music on 14:08 because that hits hard

@@Happeey12 thx
i completely disagree on phase 2 being bad, it fits LB perfect and if the author were to, indeed, remove it i think last breath would lose a lot of what makes it special imo.
like it makes sense he survives, gaster literally blocks the attack and absorbs most of the hit, and like if you can't accept gaster as that sort of plot device then lb isn't really anything really, it's like going to a superhero movie and complaining that superpowers exist, you gotta be like ''okay, this is this version of gaster, this is what his powers are, roll with it" otherwise it's just kinda of a big waste of time imo.
regardles, i vastly, vaaastly prefer last breath, it's not even a competition imo, to me it's the coolest au out there in the whole undertale fandom, rivaled only by nightmare mode sans from the indie cross stuff.
which tbh i feel like that like, pairing would make a lot more sense than last breath and disbelief because those are kinda very much different aus with very different objectives. disbelief is more of a introspective into papyrus's character and what he would do under pressure while last breath is a exercise in awesomeness, the story there is more just to fuel the coolness that is phase 2 and 3, it's not trying to make a deeper point, it's not trying to be deep and introspective, it's there to give you a awesome version of sans and a awesome fight imo.
anyways, the video was neat, even if you bashing my favorite au all the time got pretty frustrating, but regardless of how i feel, it was a well made video.
Saying it’s not a competition is kinda crazy lol
The only reason why I was so baffled and turned off by Phase 2 specifically is cause it doesn’t make sense writing wise and by just the logic Toby Fox Laid out.
Well, so did Frisk at the end of the Asriel fight, so maybe they putting that on LB.
I Agree about the last breath phase 2 thing, but just going "hahahah 0.00000001 hp omg Zerjox dumb "is kinda funny to me cause that litterally happens at the end of pacifist route undertale.
I Understand the point, I just think it was poorly explained
what's your favourite au?
A tie between EnderTale and Disbelief Papyrus
Wow and i thought i was bad in last breath and thought i was just whining thinking it was unfair but now that i am not the only one saying it's unfair i say what i said is valid lol
opinion on dusttale?
I wouldn't full know since the game never got fully released, but from footage i have seen
It definitely wouldve been one of the best up there in the top 10 UT Fangames.
And that OST goes nuts
Hey can you do Toxin sans VS something else plz??
vs? this isnt a power level video dude, this is analyzing which fangame was better in story, mechanics, music
What's sadder is that Papyrus only has 2 people i his life. Alphys, and Asgore.
you forgot flowey and the 6 souls if you count them, also some monsters that went hiding like the shop keepers in snowdin
I like Disbelief Papyrus better. (Terrible Disbelief Papyrus Emoji attempt ➡️) 🦴💀〽️
In undertale attacks hit you in the menu if they continue i think might be wrong
“That was an intentional obstruction of the menu by Sans. The blaster wasn't. In the OG game, the blaster attack cut off the moment you went into the menu, meaning you could not get hit.”
-Quote from another comment
Bassically, when you got hit in the menu it was intentional
When you get hit by blaster, it’s not intentional
In other words, someone was too lazy to implement a feature that cancelled an attack once it finished, you could literally check this if you went into the sans fight and looked at a blaster attack and see it gets cut off.
Disbelief papyrus > last breath ( canon vs canon )
Disbelief papyrus hard mode vs last breath hard mode ( i idk , i dont view ds hard mode version )
Certified poggers video ngl.
Do Dusttrust vs Dusttale, both are similar ideas with the LV but story and motivations to talk about
nah dustbelief vs dusttrust
@@DeltaSanz they are almost the same thing.
@@idk-cj8mn in that logic undertale and underswap are almost the same thing lol
@@syep12 so you're going to tell me that Papyrus accidentally killing sans and doing a genocide run to overpower the human is different compared to Underswap sans doing the same exact thing? Nice logic you got.
@@idk-cj8mn you realize with that logic all dust au's are the same???? just because it follows the same concept doesn't mean the rest of the au is not different.
undertale yellow Ceroba vs disbelief Papyrus?
Can i make a correction? Disbelief is the best [5-10] phase OST in the world
Last Breath is the best [5-6] phase OST
Reason lb is better at fighting at the end asgore kills u
sprongtromp...
Do you like dusttrust? Love to see more videos like this 👍
Yep! Sad we never got to play the Og version
But from what I saw it would’ve been a top 10 Fangame all time
legacy better btw
tbh I like last breath more because it actually makes sense unlike papyrus sad because sans die so he gets 4 phases
You underestimate the unit that is Papyrus.
you forgot that papyrus holded back in his battle, never showed his special attack, has more hp than his brother, can literally walk on air, papyrus is a absolute unit
@@VirusFlexovitch i ment the original battle in undertale where hes just tryna capture u
Can someone even tell me how to do full screen with disbelief demo and unofficial
I pick disbelief
Opinion of dusttale last genocide?
It is indeed, a fangame that exist
I like a bit of the soundtrack tho, it was pretty cool
@@Happeey12 old or new soundtrack, Or both l?
@@npc_bendytheslayer Both, I don’t have a preference for either
I watched this vid many days ago butttt ... U could've at least put some content on what story does LB play I mean U literally just said HE DOESNT DIE AND THATS IT I'm pretty sure you are just inconsiderate
Last breath story in a nutshell:
Player does 30 genocides (For some reason, literally the most boring route).
Sans doesn't die AND fights harder.
i can't beat disbelief phase 2 :skull:
phase 2 LB = springtrap
in the soundtrack, it's a tie
in the gameplay, disbelief phases are kinda short, which makes the phase 1 a bit easy, phase 2 is hell, phase 3 starts easy, it's hell too, phase 4 is a bit hard to me, hitboxes are actually good compared to last breath, and u can actually get badges which makes it less boring, no hitting disbelief is a really good and hard challenge, last breath gameplay is well, hitboxes are for example, when u on the bone it doesn't hit but when ur not in the bone it hits u, basically sans has nano bones in the air, orange bones are just broken like video said, and gaster blasters hitting u in the menu is a bit odd, i can live with blue soul thing, but it's way worse than other fangames, due to hitboxes phase 1 and 2 are just impossible to no hit and there is some proof of people no hitting phase 3 but it's still almost impossible, basically in gameplay dusttale last genocide is better, but disbelief wins to last breath
cring 2023 moment :
what
recently there has been a more "canon to undertale" take to disbelief called papyrus' belief and honestly i feel like he's better written in that version and fits his character much more, although based on the gameplay and writing i would still kinda prefer disbelief
It's... literally not "more canon to undertale", though.
@@Missingno_Miner honestly, i just think that pap belief is more to what papyrus would _actually_ do, at least when shown in undertale. disbelief is more well written and definetely portrays his character better, but it's just in my opinion that seeing both aus, papyrus' belief would more likely happen in undertale than disbelief. looking at it, i don't really think it would be a "toby fox" thing to do to add 4 phases of a fight for papyrus, despite it's superior writing (for me) and more undertale-like music.
tldr i kinda just mean that papb is more undertale-y in terms of writing compared to disbeef
but im not really an enthusiast in the characters' writing and i dont really do my research with it either so maybe i _am_ wrong, but it's just from what i've seen
@@Missingno_Miner since when is it putting it down lol
It only considers a different take on Disbelief.
@@Missingno_Miner fair point i guess, we haven't seen much of what toby can/will do so i see why, i honestly cant choose between the two in terms of which one i would rather play overall though
(also yeah true recently ive seen many """"different au takes"""" which try too hard to be original that in the end it just comes off as being unneccessary or extra, trying to be original for the sake of it or attempting to gain more publicity)
