Kind of a parallel how Ronnie Coleman started his path to his multiple Mr. Olympia titles. In his documentary Kevin Levrone gave him shots of vodka to calm his nerves down before one of the shows.
Alcohol is significantly detrimental to performance only beyond a certain threshold. 1 beer won't do anything, that's merely calories you have to add to your calculation.
@@jewmungus1423 historically the "slim" athletic guys with higher stamina has been doing pretty good. Pudz, Kieliwhatskikoski, i novikov and i would put licis in there too. Because eating like brain shaw is overrated you dont need 10k calories to train . Theres a lot going to waste over indulgence . Learned that myself overeating bad for health
congrats on the strongman win Mitchell! good to see the good lessons of bushel and school keeping it simple and real!... cant believe i used to work out with you at lunch in high school remember you muscling through your broken hand.
5:10 "Moving in five weeks". It would be great if you could make a video of your household move, showing you helping the movers out with lifting fridges, dressers, couches, cabinets, etc (and testing yourself to see what, typically two-man carry items, you can manage to lift/ carry on your own, etc).
I used to work at a moving company and there was a dude, not even that big but not skinny or anything, that would carry washers and dryers on his own, up and down stairs and all.
@@coolhwip6638 Wow, when you say carry, are you talking about front hold carrying? No dolly and no back carrying with backpack straps or anything like that? Some dryers I could see that being doable with if you have a long enough reach (toughest part would be not being able to see in front of you while you carry it), but with most washers that would be very tough and risky to try. You usually have to resort to using dollies or two men to be able to get washers and dryers through doorways and narrow hallways just because of the width of them.
@Ralphfili yep, no equipment or anything. I should clarify that this company was a non-profit that, while being a moving company, also specialized in picking up donations from people to sell at a thrift store to fund their homeless shelters and whatnot, so when i say he would pick up washers and dryers im talking about the old typical white whirpool/GE type washer/dryers, not the modern fancy ones of today lol still very impressive to see though, he would basically have them angled on his shoulder. Dude shouldve been a strongman lol i think he ended up marrying a Philippino woman that he met online and moved to the Philippines in an interesting turn of events
@@coolhwip6638 Yeah, still impressive, especially to do a shoulder carry like that. I used to be a mover when I was younger, and you would see some of those deceivingly strong guys come and go at times. You definitely meet some interesting characters in that line of work!
Funny vid, good luck Mitch! Love to see a Canadian boy enjoying a beer before comp (I'm sure the Aussies were a complementary influence). Looking forward to seeing a great performance.
Thank you for this! I am competeting on Saturday 8-5-2023 in my first strongman as a woman. I have been struggling with what I should eat or how I should eat. Thank you for letting me know that I can eat normal and not go overkill.
Massive congratulations on winning mate, even though we won’t see it in the UK on tv until Christmas time, I’ve heard you not only won, but won convincingly, which is even more of an accomplishment 👍🏻💪🏻😁 Just wanted to say too, I know you don’t like/see the point on doing a what I eat type video, but it’s very interesting to mere mortals such as myself, that’s the main thing we want to know, like what exactly does one need to consume on a daily basis to become the world’s strongest man, so although it may seem a pointless and boring exercise to you, to us it’s very interesting actually 😁
Congratulations on your win ! To outduel the more dominant brother from England was impressive. The crew over here noticed while you were dining that you were LEFT handed. Were you the only competitor in this '23 group of WSM that was LEFT focused ?!? Many Thanks Yo ! 🖐️. 🔍. 🤔
Honestly, hearing that he eats 5k to 5.5k calories a day as opposed to 10k like some other strongmen eat...makes me happy. The current WSM doesn't need to harm his body with an insane amount of fat and calories to be immensely strong, he also doesn't look beaten and unhealthy either. Great work!
Yeah, I think some of the competitors really go overboard, cool to see guys who are less extreme in this regard shine, Mateuz and Novikov also come to mind
I’m callin’ it right meow: Mitch & Shaw in the finals against eachother on the stones. For the first time ever they’ll finish at the exact millisecond and WSM will have to create a final emergency event to determine ultimate winner.
Drinking beer before WSM competition and he won it!! My new favorite strongman since Brian is retiring…Eddie used to drink cranberry juice before his 😂😂😂😂
I feel you on hating being filmed eating, i just hate eating in front of people in general let alone being filmed 😂 And Vanilla is the finest of the flavours right?!
Steak is crust/sear 2nd salt 3rd is juicy (medium/medium rare) to rare is chewy and cold and well done is tough and dry. Maybe 4th could be pairing with dry red wine or cold beer. Red wine the 1st choice.
Crazy coming back to watch this again. I can remember watching this just before 2023 wsm not having a clue of who Mitch is and thinking yeah he'll probably place okay 😂 Obviously not knowing he would go on to win.
Thanks for showing what you eat! Would also be very satisfied if the eating itself was off camera, just was curious what kinds of food you ate. Good luck at comp!
Sir for sure did not fuck it up because you won your group like a fucking champion and if anyone reads my post Mitchell is one of the nicest people in his position you will meet spoke to him twice already and would like to get a picture with him soon super down to earth kind of guy. Good luck Mitchell Hooper your kicking ass and I’m already gonna say it you will be on the podium this year without a doubt‼️ Ready to see y’all compete Saturday and Sunday and get even more sun burnt 🤣

My thoughts exactly!! I wonder how much he weighs
