SPICE BUN RECIPE
FOR BUN LIQUID MIXTURE
5 tbs butter
1 dragon stout or malta
1 cp wine
1 or 2 cps brown sugar, sweeten to your tast
2 tbsp jam
1 tbsp molasses
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 tbsp Orange zest
1 tsp browning
DRY MIXTURE
4 cps flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp 5 spice or mixed spice
2 tsp cinnamon powder
3 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cp cherries
1 cp raisins
GLAZING
2 tbsp jam
1 tbsp butter
2 or 3 tbsp sugar
This amount of ingredients will give you 2 bun.

Lovely tips. I remembered when I couldn’t get molasses, I used ovaltine & browning. It worked well & had a lovely flavour. That was many moons ago. Now I can get molasses quite easily.

I made this yesterday. The buns taste great, thanks for the recipe. I only used 1 cup of sugar but I was still a bit too sweet for me, when I make it again I'll use less sugar but the same amount of jam. Mine came out glossy too so I didn't bother to glaze them, that would have made them way too sweet for me.
It was my first time making bun and I think I did a good job, thanks again.

I love your narrating voice Tracy- soothing like a true Jamaican! I want to attempt to make my first bun for Easter in 2023 but with a couple substitutions because I am sensitive to flour and natural sugars. I want to experiment using Almond Flour and Plant sweetener. The consistency may not yield the same as your traditional bun but as long as I can get close enough taste along with the cheese to teleport me back home, I will be just as happy! Cheers!

I back again i followed your recipe before covid, when i was shopping all i remember is ..there was a ladyon you tube added 'wine' and when i was searching for ingredients, i remembered it was 'You'..
Gas price is high, but i goibg to do this i mightbas well bake coconut bread as well put in the oven all together

I followed your recipe and made this bun and it is ridiculously sweet! And I didn't even add molasses as you indicated. It is so sweet that I have to freeze it and give it away and make another one with half the sugar. My God this will put anyone in a diabetic coma!
I agree Miztri, it should be 1 cup sugar instead of 2...everything else is perfect.
Correction... I should have mention sweeten to your taste... this is the first complain of someone who actually tried the recipe...you are not wrong...your taste for sweetness is about one cup sugar ❤👍🏼
This bun is 100% unhealthy and should be eaten occasionally ...this bun is not recommended for diabetic people
