Keanu Reeves is a living legend , he’s such an amazing person and actor , even before he became John Wick he still was in a lot of good movie’s and this one is a classic.
This movie was so cool in those days. Keanu Reeves was known even well known he’d done “bills and Ted” and “point break”was in “Dracula” etc but this movie “Speed” is when Keanu Reeves became a “household name”. And Sandra Bullock for that matter. After this film everyone knew those 2 names.
I feel the same as you today today Hannah, i started crying over a ad and knew immediately the next 24-48 i wasnt going to be able to tolerate anything 😂
36:00 Ash is correct about that; When bank tellers are robbed, they sneak in ink packs with the cash. Then, when jostled enough, the ink packs explode. The ink is so hard to wash off, it can’t get washed off the money, making it useless to the thief, but the treasury can get the ink off, once the money is recovered.
I saw this in theatres when I was in high school. Despite the fact that I'd been floating in my friends pool all day and had the most itchy sunburn... loved it. After all these years it seems I still do. Brava!
When people say "they don't make'em like this anymore," Speed is what they're thinking of. It's such a simple, unpretentious film... but it is executed SO, SO well.
From Hannah nonchalantly popping Ash's pimples to putting her fingers up her nose she is exhibiting a high level of genius in preventing fans from coming up to her wanting to shake her hand without downright alienating them by instead outright refusing to shake their hands. Effing BRILLIANT!
Great reaction, guys! Thank you! Back in the 90’s, not only the movies were great, but life in general. I think we’ll have those good times back … some great people seem to be taking care of that. Ash, you’re my only choice to send them my support and my congratulations when you have the chance (you’re too good at symbolism to not figure out what I meant). Looking forward to your next reaction. Salutations from a Romanian brother …
Fun fact about that opening bus explosion - a little old lady wandered onto set and mistook the bomb bus for her actual bus and BOARDED it. She was running after it because she thought she missed her bus, ran straight past the PAs and jumped on while the thing had already started moving. Luckily the guy with his finger on the button noticed in time before she was blown to pieces. 😳
Normally I am anti-caring about Hollywood romance, but I always get a little Aww for the missed connection in this movie where both Sandra and Keanu confessed to having had a big crush on each other but not having gone for it. Seems like it would have been a sweet wholesome match 😝
A third "Die Hard" movie was meant to be set on a cruise ship. The movie "Under Siege" came out and was being called "Die Hard on a battleship," and that kind of stifled that idea, along with a bunch of other movies being called "Die Hard on a _________". That led to the third Die Hard being completely different.
They lost 7 cameras the first time they did the bus jumping the freeway stunt, it didn't get enough "speed" and dropped straight on them. the director swore everyone to secrecy cause he knew they'd get told it would be cgi"d instead:and he was determined to have all practical effects, fortunately they absolutely nailed it the second time. The movie just celebrated its 30th anniversary last week with a screening & a Q&A with Sandra, Keanu and the director Jan. @@adzthesaint no the colored wiring is movie stuff for simplicity, in reality bombs especially homemade are made to trick anyone trying to disarm it and you only need the smallest of current to detonate. That’s why they use x ray usually to see its mechanism but if they don’t know for sure that’s why they go for detonating it where it is safely, it can even be rigged so that it takes multiple wires correctly cut to disarm it but no one would know that but the maker.
Yall need bomb education. Lol. Jack couldn't shoot Dennis Hoper in the beginning because he is holding a 'Dead man's Switch". If he is shot, he releases switch and Jack dies with Dennis and Harry.
Wow honestly, props to you guys for calling foul on the bus jump scene because of the impact on the explosive rather than just commenting on how unlikely it is that a city bus could ever make that kind of jump to begin with. I've never heard anyone else mention how the bomb probably should've detonated with that incredible impact, so good job for being uniquely observant! Fantastic reaction all the way around! *Edit: Also, food for thought, but if you consider the cost of the bus, an airplane, several civilian vehicles, city highway repair, police equipment and personnel, ect ect, the expense of the rescue FAR exceeds the ransom demand lol.

THAT'S why I subscribed. Polls aren't always on the money and you know that. Fantastic watchalong with you two on this ride!
You absolutely need to watch the sequel, The Lake House. Sandra's character is constantly moving two years ahead of Keanu's, how do they meet and fall in love? Pop Quiz: How do they meet and fall in love?
😂😂😂
Keanu Reeves is a living legend , he’s such an amazing person and actor , even before he became John Wick he still was in a lot of good movie’s and this one is a classic.
@7:06 In Hannah's version the movie ends 5 minutes in with her, Jeff Daniels and all the hostages dying in a fiery explosion.
The world, did in fact, fall in love with Sandra Bullock, after this film.
Love Keanu and Sandra. You have to watch The Lake House that they both starred in. A very unique film.
Ash reprimanding the lady with the baby stroller makes me want a reaction to The Untouchables! Please Ash & Hannah, it's an great movie 🙏
I saw this in theatres when I was in high school. Despite the fact that I'd been floating in my friends pool all day and had the most itchy sunburn... loved it. After all these years it seems I still do. Brava!
“Keanu, you are a national treasure.”
- Sonic the Hedgehog
The homeless people sell cans as recycling for a couple cents each. FYI.
Effing BRILLIANT!
huh?
Great reaction, guys! Thank you!
Back in the 90’s, not only the movies were great, but life in general. I think we’ll have those good times back … some great people seem to be taking care of that. Ash, you’re my only choice to send them my support and my congratulations when you have the chance (you’re too good at symbolism to not figure out what I meant).
Looking forward to your next reaction.
Salutations from a Romanian brother …
I first saw this movie when I was like 14-15. Needless to say, I spent a fair amount of alone time thinking about this version of Sandra Bullock. lol
Ash: "Imagine hitting your head on that!"
Me: "Just wait...."
"Yeah? Well, I'm taller!"
watched this film so many times didn't even pick up on the 25 25 symbolism lol
Since Ash looks like Aladdin, you could call him “street rat” instead 😁
C4 only explodes with electric impulse.
The reason the homeless woman had cans was because recycling centers will pay 5-10 cents per can. It’s how they can get money if they can’t find work.
Dora the explorer comment just got my cat soaked in beer. Epic bro LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
Its California. They milk road work and infrastructure like a mutha, here😄
They lost 7 cameras the first time they did the bus jumping the freeway stunt, it didn't get enough "speed" and dropped straight on them. the director swore everyone to secrecy cause he knew they'd get told it would be cgi"d instead:and he was determined to have all practical effects, fortunately they absolutely nailed it the second time. The movie just celebrated its 30th anniversary last week with a screening & a Q&A with Sandra, Keanu and the director Jan. It's on TH-cam and very much worth a watch. Enjoy both your channels quite a bit. Thanks for all the laughter. ✌️🫶🏻
Just watched this for the first time recently, and can't believe how amazing it was!! Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are a fantastic duo!!
Ash has a real problem with fingers being in noses in this video lol.
The 70's and the 90's had such an incredible run of great, fun filmmaking!
The "librarian b*tch" was played by the great Beth Grant. She's a wonderful character actress that has been in many movies and shows. Fans of the US version of the Office best know her as Dwight's date in the classic episode "Dinner Party."
I worked with Glenn Plummer a few years ago. Glenn, was the guy in the Jaguar that Keanu took over. Glenn, was so amazing and down to. He is such a great guy. I absolutely love this film
In the 90's you used to be able to get money for taking back cans for recycling.
I just love you both 😁 Such a fun reaction to one of my favorite movies..really enjoyed watching. TY!
Ash, "Liberian girl" is Michael Jackson's song
90s movies are so good, was watch this on vcr casette.. I was 14 years old 😊😊😊
Sandra being from Tennessee the most humid place on the planet no doubt she shaves

"The moment will live foweva.." said so beautifully by Hannah.
Ash, can you and Hannah please react to Overboard (1987)
Sandra and Keanu both had a crush on each other during shooting, but they never said anything. They reviled it years later on a talk show.
Hannah talking about cut ALL the wires is instant death 💯😂
Why? If you cut the wire to the power source, you’re fine.
I think she’s right.
Keanu and Sandra admitted they both had crushes on each other at this time but never told one another. It should've been!
EVERY channel needs to react to this awesome movie!!! I saw this in the theatres! 💜💚
You guys had me in tears on this one. 😂😂
Maybe the greatest action movie of the 90s. No exaggeration.
Terminator 2…not Even a debate 🤘🏾
@justtrustash Yeah, that slipped my mind. Speed is non-stop action mind. I love its relentless pace.
@@justtrustash😞😞😞😞😞
What about 3 ninjas?
@@theCommentDevil Good old Rocky, Colt & Tum Tum.

Yall need bomb education. Lol. Jack couldn't shoot Dennis Hoper in the beginning because he is holding a 'Dead man's Switch". If he is shot, he releases switch and Jack dies with Dennis and Harry.
Ash good thing you’ve got long hair to covering your ears when Hannah is in one of those moods 😂
Please Ash, watch The Fly movie from the 80's, the reaction will be quality x trust
Yikes! That movie…
"Hes got a good gut. He drinks his Yakult". You deserve an award for that line.
C4 doesn't detonate on impact it requires an electrical charge.
@@richcheckmaker Fair enough, I'm definitely not an explosives expert. Still can't expect jostling an armed C4 pack to be considered exactly "safe" but your point is taken.
@@WyldeRoverapparently you can throw the stuff off a cliff and it won't detonate without the electrical charge
@@that.ll_do_pig Dang, that is cool. Imagine drawing the short straw in testing that out for the first time though, haha.
I thought it was a good call. Most aren't going to know the explosive used won't be affected.
Great reaction! Thanks to both of you.😊 One of my favorite movies. Watched it many times and I had the same feeling. The many different scenes/layers always make me feel like the movie never ends. That's great.
37:50 “what does my tax paying money go towards?” Hanna we Americans have been asking that for the past 4 decades lol 😂
This is the same filmmaker who made Twister. They might be cheesy in a way, but these 90s action films were all very freaking exciting and fun to watch. There's a reason that they are repeats on the "favorite to re-watch" circuit for a lot of people.
Movement is Cinema. Speed is pure Cinema.
Love you guys! New subscriber. I'll be on the Patreon soon. The first thing I did when I heard you talking about great 90's movies was see if you'd watched "True Lies".... one of the best. Anyway keep up the good work! Highly recomend Jurassic Park, the first one.
Others may have said already, but I'm pretty sure the woman with the carriage full of cans was collecting them to turn in for their deposit. I don't know if they do this in the UK, but in most US states you can turn in certain cans and bottles for a few cents each. It's a measure that is intended to cut down on litter and encourage recycling.
It so funny & coincidental because in 2020 the Sonic The Hedgehog movie came out & there’s a scene where the couple are watching Speed and Sonic is watching through the window. And now here we are 4 years later into the third movie & the star of Speed Keanu Reeves is a part of Sonic 3 playing as Shadow The Hedgehog. One hell of a coincidence!
A little behind the scenes story: Keanu and Sandra had big crushes on each other during filming but neither of them ever made a move
if you want to watch more 80's - 90s, movies you should watch The Goonies. One of my all-time favourite movies!
Many buses can't reach 50mph let alone stay there or above it. It was clearly not doing anything like it in many scenes. That jump across the gap was an impossibility.
What buses do you have 😂😂
@@ElmStReactions I used to be a bus driver and city/town buses are generally geared for stop start work, not highway. Only since they started recieving more advanced gearboxes with an overdrive gear, could they easily exceed 50mph (80 km/h) if they wanted to. The Mercedes buses I drove with three speed automatics were screaming their heads off by 50mph.
@@jamesfrench7299 I've never seen or been on a bus that can't do 50
All of us people that follow Hannah absolutely love the hell out of her. I've been binge watching her videos for stranger things and I adore her reactions more than anything
Yes, yeeesssssss, yessss. Such a fun movie.
Now you need to watch Tremors.
Tremors is absolute tippy top tier!!!
Also Hanna, I don't believe Ash for a second. I absolutely believe that he WOULD STAY on the train to try and save you.
