Thanks David I was hoping it would show people that trolling from a kayak is a viable option, glad you like the cats they have got a beautiful nature, we got them both at the same time from Albury/Wodonga pet rescue, the lady was very particular about who she would sell them to because she puts so much effort into them, I am getting withdrawal symptoms from them because I am on a holiday in the US and someone else is looking after them
Thanks Jed I can't claim that line as my own I borrowed it from the great Rex Hunt when he used it in one of his episodes I think he might of been fishing for redfin I Lake Toolondo
Thanks Nick I hope it can give people a few ideas, the ruler on each side to measure the fish is the bomb, the sounder transducer shoots through the hull by having a bit of large diameter PVC pipe about 25mm high siliconed in with selleys all clear surrounding the transducer then water is added, the fish grips are attached to a bit of bungy cord around the cockpit that allows you to let go of the grips so you can move to a convenient spot to photograph the fish, unhook ect if the current or wind is pushing you around(a friends idea), the ropes attached to the front and back with handles from dragging work really well and saves your back from having to bend over, the paddle holder, the rod holder and the extra bungee cord on the back all work well, everything is attached in case of capsize I mainly use plastic buckles for quick release, I have made a footrest that goes right across inspired by racing kayaks, I find if my feet are splayed outwards my hips ache, I can just get my one piece 1.73m rod fully inside the kayak(I had to cut a hole) that allows you to smash through heavy vegetation ect maybe I should make a video just on the set-up
That would be great, so many great ideas on you’ve incorporated into it that would make it a ball to go out in. Does it weigh much and is it easy to get on and off the car?
Thanks Homie it was a long time in the making you know what I'm like! Thanks so much for sharing it I was wondering why the views were going up so quick! such an awesome place out there at the moment.Windslayer come at me! and a bigger hole in my hat under the microphone
Nice work Alex, I just got a power pack for mine. It actually charges the battery while its recording. It only cost me the price of a battery, also has a solar panel on it.
Thanks Mark ,yes an external power pack would have it's advantages, i wouldn't mind this set up th-cam.com/video/S6Y7a3ZtoeE/w-d-xo.html but it is somthing from the USA so it is not that easy to source, the cable is available in different lengths there is one place in Australia that has them but last time i looked they only had the shortest cable, this set up would give a degree of waterproof don't know if that link is going to highlight so search this if it doesn't work "Weatherproof External Power for GoPro Hero 5/6 | X~PWR-H5" If you were in a boat or on shore the waterproof wouldn't matter so much unless it was raining
G'day Michael, I am focusing on Dartmouth at the moment went out last Tuesday and only got 1 so that wouldn't make a great video so going out again tomorrow, moon is better and I have got a different plan so I will see how I go was in the United States for a month a week or so ago so missed what would of been a more favorable time in Mulwala before it got too cold for comfortable fishing
G'day CoRKA97 i started off from near the Major's Creek boatramp and went downstream in the old river course and then jumped into a lagoon and went over to the NSW bank for a bit then came back again I found the best water with the most structure was within 500m of the Majors Creek boatramp
I haven't been there for a while because I am in the United States at the moment but when I was there it was still dropping so if it has been stable for a while I would imagine it would be alright once the mud dries out better still right next to the boatramp would be better if they have finished doing works there and the road is not blocked off, I noticed it was more gravelly there.
Great video. Really enjoying your kayaking fishing videos. Steve
Thanks Steve if you like the kayak the "kayak Fishing The Broken River" would be the one to watch if you haven't seen it already.
Very cool to see some fishing while the water is down!
Nice work, I enjoy watching good kayak fishing, and I like your cats

Yeah I got a good laugh out of it when I heard Rex say on his show
You’ve got a sweet set up on your yak, looks quite organised

Hey mate, what part of the lake were you fishing?
G'day CoRKA97 i started off from near the Major's Creek boatramp and went downstream in the old river course and then jumped into a lagoon and went over to the NSW bank for a bit then came back again I found the best water with the most structure was within 500m of the Majors Creek boatramp
Alexander Hector it shouldn't be too muddy now? Since it hasn't rained in a while, is the boat ramp still closed off? Wanna put me kayak there
I haven't been there for a while because I am in the United States at the moment but when I was there it was still dropping so if it has been stable for a while I would imagine it would be alright once the mud dries out better still right next to the boatramp would be better if they have finished doing works there and the road is not blocked off, I noticed it was more gravelly there.
