Tancook island pothole parade December 2023

Every December Tancook Island residents decorate our cars and have a homegrown Christmas parade around the island for our 150 residents. Along the roads we dodge and weave around all of the thousands of potholes that proliferate our dirt roads here on the island.
The parade is lead by our volunteer fire department BTIERA (Big Tancook Island Emergency Response Association) with the siren blaring to let the residents know the parade is arriving by their houses so they can come outside and see their fellow residents drive by in cars and atv's decorated for the holidays season.
The parade is a highlight of the holiday season for our island residents and is held a couple days before Christmas which enhances our festive mood with the community spirit.
