I know life can get a little hectic around the end of the year for some people, but I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for helping me improve my guitar playing. The way you explain riffs and gear always inspires me to pick up my guitar and keep practicing. I wish you and your family happy holidays. Thank you for sharing your passion for music with us.
Lamb I love your videos so much! You have such a great show and inspires me to play guitar and really dial in my own tones. With the help of your videos I’ve created my own tones. Best creator on TH-cam. Cheers man!!
thanks for all the content and ideas!! because of you i got myself an dsl20 with a 2x12 v30 cab and using similar pedals i got insane tones thanks to your videos! keep it up
Really appreciate you making these videos about the Nano. Excellent product and you really demonstrate how easy it is to use and what great tones you can get with it. Neural DSP owes you some comissions
Dang this makes the Nanocortex pretty compelling. These captures sound great. Wish they existed in NAM or Tonex, but they do take a good deal longer to capture. Edit: it’s really awesome you did this!
This is something I would have loved to own when I was a beginner, as opposed to chasing a tone on a bargain hunted set-up. Once you showed me what the EVH 5150 iii can do, I never went back to anything else.
This may be a crazy request, but I've been messing with the VOX VT40X recently, and found it's pretty versatile. The thing is, I see little to no videos about it online! At least, when it comes to capturing tones. I was curious if you could do what you did with the Boss Katana, and chase down the RIP or other iconic Megadeth/metal tones on it! I've been able to get kind of there, but you got the ears I wish I had for this sort of thing. I also only got the standard Jackson pickups that come on the JS32T, so getting the aggression could be the lack of Duncan's.
Looks like I found my next system. I can’t wait to download everything too. So, I have been watching your channel for a while now and seen you nail some great tones on the DSL and 800. I am going to be straight up here and say: I am really surprised you haven’t been approached by Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, etc. or some other metal bands out there to either A. Guitar tech/engineer for them (you would be amazed what those guys make financially working for major acts). B. Join and play guitar with them full-time (the way Dave Mustaine works there could be an opening anytime lol. Much love to Dave btw). C. Reach out and invite you to come play a song with them live onstage (I am looking at the Metallica guys here). D. Been approached by Marshall, Mesa, Victory, etc. to do say a 50 amp run of special edition DSL 20 watt heads (or another amp company wink wink Mesa), or a Lambchopper 678 Distortion pedal.
Ps I love some old school Suicidal Tendencies stuff. Anything off Controlled by Hatred, or Lights, Camera, Revolution, that you could do a full song, or guitar tone would be amazing. Even some of the old Infectious Grooves stuff. I am pretty sure Rocky played Marshall’s, Ibanez’s and/or ESPs back then too. Thanks!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks for your time mate and appreciate the kind words. I’ve had a pretty awesome journey to get where it is. I wouldn’t have ever thought it possible
I know is probably too much work but it would be nice if you captured and uploaded your tones to another (more affordable) platform. I dream of having acess to your tones but at least were I live the nanocortex goes for more than twice as much as the tonex (which is already considerably expansive here)
Hey Man, love your stuff, do you think you can try and dial in a facelift tone on the 5150iii? I've been trying to get a good, high gain grunge tone with my 5150iii and my mxr ten band. We die young is one of my favorite tones of all time. Thanks!
Bro can you do more videos with the orange super crush 100 i just got one and its a really huge amp compared to my old amp. I got my first real rig with it i was just rocking a practice amp before this. I followed your dimebag cfh video and got a really sick tone with the sd-1 and eq and am definitely hoping you give me some more ideas with it.
Nice! I really don't understand all the hate going on for this because it's really simple to use. My only question is if capturing with a cab you wouldn't need an ir?
You will always need an IR to output the patches... Is my understanding. He noted earlier in the video the v30 IR that he used. We can assume the v30 ir is what he used throughout his demos in the video. I suppose the fun can be using different IR's with each patch, essentially functioning as different EQ's!!
@@chrisfoxart i get it. I was just curious because if i already like my cab sound and capture it i don't need to go down the rabbit hole of irs again lol
@@MattW4319If you are using the Nano to go direct, you’ll want either an IR or a capture with your preferred cab. However, if you are using it with a live amp/cab, you do NOT need to capture the cab or use an IR. You can just do a capture with your amp, preamp, or drive pedals. It just depends on how you use the Nano.
@@christopheranderson2158 thanks, that's what i wanted to know, a capture of my own cab. Every ir I have tried seems to be missing something that a simple sm57 picks up.
Wow, really cool that this is just available! We're spoiled for choice as guitarists these days. Two questions / requests: - Some Swedish death metal sounds? Entombed, At The Gates, In Flames - Some ToneX captures, some day? Those captures take a lot longer, but a bit of a best of would be so awesome
Sold so cool!! Is it able to switch tuning on some presets for example d tuning for playing testament or slipknot without physically retuning the guitar ?
Ah unfortunately Ollie had a stroke and died a few days after making this video. I had him from fluff ball 22 years ago and it’s taken the wind out of my sails mate. I don’t feel like making the video talking about it.
To drive a guitar cab you need a power amp. You can keep your current amp if it has an fx loop. The nano output goes into the return of the amp fx and that’s it. You’ve effectively bypassed the existing preamp. Other than that the Seymour Duncan power stage series seems to be popular👍🏻
What if you don't have access to a bunch of amps etc. to record and model? Can you strictly survive off of downloading people's patches? Does it cost money to download the patches?
The QC is mind blowing with what it can do. For me and how I use the QC, the Nano does about 90% of that. Compare the cost difference and I’d go with the Nano every time.
Unluckily Sounds like plastic version of the original. Lacks spark . They all sounds similar. I hope it is only the recording. I am curious about the feeling under the fingers
Hey bloke what's are your thoughts on the nano I can't afford the quad cortex but I have a number of neural dsp plugins do it support them and are you able to transfer them over to it ??
Doesn't support the plugins, but you can capture your plugins from your desktop. A few TH-camrs have talked about using some captured plugins on their units and being very happy with the outcome!
@@bobbyincidemetal I think you can capture tones from plug-ins. I think, not quite sure. Seen videos on it, but haven't tried myself because I have no plug ins.
nah bro this is revolutionary for bedroom players. and a much cheaper option than the quad cortex. Even works with power amps into cabinets for live settings too. Alot of touring artists were already using the quad cortex.
It depends on how you want to use it and also which ecosystem you like the most. If you want to use Lamb's captures, cortex is the way. If you don't care about captures, there's other options. If you don't have a need for a full fx unit, this could be a valid option. It all depends.😊
Unfortunately, its pretty hard to tell ANY devices sound quality playing that metal rubbish. How does it sound clean? Can it compete with competition like UA (yeah I know UA pedals don’t have midi. So?).

You nailed that megadeth! The tones and your playing are freaking perfect!😮😮😮 Inspiring stuff man.
you are pretty much convincing me to get myself the nano cortex now! would love to see a zakk wylde or alexi laiho capture
Thanks so much for all the hard work with these mate. I'm new to QC and these sound great!
I still love the seasons in the abyss sound.
Love ur videos man you never miss
Could u do a vid capturing Poland’s peace sells tone? It’s something I’ve never quite been able to do right myself

I have download a lot of your presets. Excelent work dude, i love the tones you make. Thank you !!!.
Btw, my favorite tones are the Lamb of God tones.
Your captures are awesome , I’ve downloaded a few , hats off to you sir 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I’m considering getting one of these just to use your tones!
I’m getting a cortex on preorder very soon, and the first place I’m running screaming and on fire is to your tones!!!!
Thank you for all your hard work and sharing 🤘

No compression
Could you do an extreme aggresion album guitar tone video
Did you see that Bill Kelliher left Friedman and has moved to Victory amps?
Funny the first time I plugged into the Kraken I felt it was the sound of Mastodon. Very cool amp, I wasn’t surprised in the slightest
My one gripe is that they don’t include a drive/boost block.

Hello. Long time since a new video. Did you stop making content on youtube? 🤔
Tonexone can capture your tone ?
what speaker ir did you use in the Intro Lucretia section ? sounds cool
