    On a personal note back in late 80’s we built a house in Lahore defense. In those days getting a phone connection was like asking for a divine miracle. After paying the real charges it finally came to the line man who actually was going to give the physical connection. Long story short he only asked for few hundred rupees and sensing my inquisitive nature told me that this money goes all the way to the top. According to him when his supervisor tells him to get two chickens he has to pay for it somehow. I moved abroad in early 90’s. Seem nothing much has changed in the land of the pure in 30 plus years. It breaks my heart.

      @@mehmood020 it's been 3 decades since we moved back to Pakistan... My grand + elder generations both left this world and i have personally spent above 2 decades serving in govt organizations. As per my experience and analysis which is based upon my everyday observations; things will only change if there's some revolution or being a nation we will accept the fact that we desperately need to change our habits... Till then, matters will remain the same and nothing is gonna change, Mark my words, Sir!

      @@mehmood020 brother I have been trying my best to do so, but more than 90% of my efforts went in vain... And the most common reason I came up with, we as a nation are willing to criticize everyone else out there but unwilling to start bringing the change from ourselves!

    Just last month in October I visited Pakistan on my short 2 weeks vacation for buying a car. That was one of the frustrated process of my life I have gone through. I ended up staying upto a month till I found a genuine car as majority of sellers in Pakistan would cheat you in many ways....surprisingly the accidental cars itself would look so brand new that you would never imagine its actual history. People would hide and do everything to cheat you in many ways. May Allah give us all hidayet and change the mindset of people in our nation. Perhaps this is the only reason, we people are treated in entire different way abroad...

    My sis got the car transferred by herself at Excise office, Ibd. The rules are written on the board and help desk and people guide the directions as well. She got it done in an hour by visiting all the offices, even when there was no separate line made for women. It's not as bad as projected. It's best to go to govt offices around 8-9am, as afterwards work pace goes slow and ppl start leaving their seats/office, which causes extra delay.

    • @mohsinkazmi7189
      @mohsinkazmi7189 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In some government offices it is even worse than it is projected, you cannot do anything on your own simple as that. You need a reference or you need to bribe people (so called service charges) Harsh reality!

    • @JustRandomThings

      Islamabad excise is one of the better departments if u can go early in the morning. Max 45-60 mins ans u are done with the registration or transfer

      @@mohsinkazmi7189 She was asked for "more pics of quaid" by a young man taking applications for car transfer prior to that week, which she refused to pay and chose to wait for the prescribed time period. Maybe men are more corrupt as they are controlling the finances and expect other men to oblige to their antics and pay them an "additional fee" to feed their own sham egos and haram tummies!

    Vid started with negative aspect of the society and ended on a positive note with young guy and his business. I believe every society has it's own aspects. I pray one day all this system gets easier. There was a time when ID card, domicile etc were made the same way. Now with Nadra all of it is super easy and fast.

    • @writetosalman
      @writetosalman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about transfer. But for new car in Punjab, car registered can be done at show room when you are getting delivery via online system "Dealer vehicle registration system". After 4 to 5 week you will get registration card and file and number plates. From dealership. It is very easy. Dealership done all the processing legally.

    I like your way of describing the fact of corrupt system. Being an overseas Pakistani I dealt with most of the system from passport office NADRA Property Registration Muncipl Corporation to get approval for construction and police to file report for stolen vehicle, unfortunately there is not a single office you get access directly you have to pay ( bribe ) service fee and use your contacts to get things done!
    It doesn't matter if they are legit for illegal you pay a bit more.

    Mashallah, you are an angel to be sharing such hard learned lessons for other's benefits. My experience in Pakistan has been that the bigger the price tag the greater the scam. It's quite opposite to the culture in law abiding countries. People who've lived in any of those law abiding countries have to go through similar frustrations when they try to purchase products and services inside Pakistan.

    Best and heartening part of your video was the end . As always great video. May Allah keep the young entrepreneur on the right path, Ameen. Having said that this is plain old extortion. A country of 220 million, well every one needs to make a ‘ living’. How legit it is , well that’s an open question. Sadly in ignorance, we use the same tactics to fix our aakhiraa . We never get tired of saying Alhamdulillah in every other sentence! This is height of hypocrisy or munafiqat. Only He knows the real situation and hopefully we are guided. But keep on the good work aur apnaa daaman bachaa k rakhain. May Allah forgive us.

    Only solution to all this corrupt practices is a complete digitization of the system. And I am seeing major changes coming our way. Now I don't have to pay vehicle token tax by going in a post office etc, just online and that's it. Just applied renewel of my CNIC online. So things are moving forward despite obstructions created by Mafias.

    Sorry to say but these people outside excuse office are entertained by us ourselves. When you don't even enter the office, how would you know that what is the procedure. There is first counter, from where you can get information about procedure maybe not in the most pleasant way but still they tell you which counter to go. And you have to move to counters number wise, There is obviously some labour involved, like standing in queue, filling in the forms. But the process takes 1-1.5 hr. I've done registration/transfer of my vehicles from excise office islamabad multiple times and went there during my office hours by taking short leave. It is a bit of a hastle for an overseas Pakistani, but not impossible. The only thing you need is to do some effort and dig out things yourself and most importantly give shut up call to those touts. On the other hand, your experience about own mafia is totally right.
