    I was feeling so 'punky' for about a week and severely fatigued for no known reason that I drove myself to hospital ER and was admitted. Checking me out with with EKG and then with a heart catharization & echocardiogram, they found the amount of blood ejected from my left ventricle (Ejection Fraction) was below 35%. Started me on a 12.5mg Carvedilol tablet taken twice a day, along with Valsartin (BP). Though they could not determine for sure if I'd had a heart attack, the cardiologist said to follow up with him in a month. He advised that because of the low EF, there was a potential that I could just keel over without warning from a cardiac arrest. At the follow up visit, and a subsequent echocardiogram, my ejection fraction was 55% and he stated that looking at my chart, he said it was as if I never had a heart issue; however, to be on the safe side, told me to continue on the Carvedilol which I have done ever since. That was years ago and in my 70s now.

    Are the supplements you prescribe safe with Heart Meds? I take Metoprolol, Furosemide, and Spirolactone? How long til you feel effects?

    • @NishalRamnunan
      @NishalRamnunan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It depends on several factors. If your blood pressure is too low, some of these supplements can further lower it, which is dangerous. I strongly recommend working closely with your cardiologist when taking any supplements. As far as interactions, thats the primary issue. Additionally, the timing of supplements is important. they need to always be taken several hours away from your medication so that they don't compound the effect of medication. Again, work closely with your physician. As per the studies, results are seen anywhere from 3-6 months.

    Hi . Are these supplements ok to take with the heart meds that are prescribed ? Such as Entresto and Metropolol and Farxiga ?

    • @NishalRamnunan
      @NishalRamnunan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great question! It depends on several factors, for example: If the individuals blood pressure is low, these supplements can further lower it. Making them potentially unsafe. Additionally, taking the supplements at the same time of the day as medication may compound the effect of the medication, which can also be dangerous. It is very important to work closely with a physician or cardiologist as well as a specialist in these nutrients and supplements to closely monitor the individuals condition as they use these supplements.

    Thank you for this video, Doctor! I have heard wonderful things about b3 for people in general but have no idea how this would effect someone with low EF. Any idea how it would effect low EF? In my mom’s case, hers was likely caused by untreated high blood pressure. She drastically changed her diet, does cardiac rehab and takes 3 medications (no statin) and is doing really well. But I wonder if she can also benefit from B3 or if there’s any reason she shouldn’t. Thanks again for the helpful video!🙏

      I don't think so, reduced ef from 41 to 30 with cough is a sign of heart failure which makes water or blood to accumulate in lungs ,keenly observe his mucus that any pinky colour is found in it or not , Pls consult your cardiologist at the earliest.

I am on the minimum dose of Beta Blocker, ACE and diuretic. All my life I have supplemented with herbs and minerals etc and lead a very active and healthy lifestyle. [The heart failure apparently is genetic]. Currently I take Omega 3, Wheatgerm oil, CoQ10, vit D3, Zinc, Vit K2, Magnesium, essential Amino acids and multi-minerals. I have in the past taken L Arginine and L Citruline, mainly for sports performance. I currently want to take Hawthorn Berry Extract but my DR is very hesitant about it saying that there is not enough known about it or any side-effects with the medication I am on. What you are describing sounds like left ventricular hypertrophy. That can sometimes be an effect of congenital heart disease, or even althetic hypertrophy - this can come from intense exercise. Can low ejection fraction cause symptoms that go away after taking rest? Can increase physical activity after 2 months with low ef cause few symptoms in the beginning? I am taking beta blocker and lasix. Will it improve my ef? It is currently 40%. Also I have ICD implanted. Will my ICD improve my ef?

    My father's EF was 60% before Coronary Artery bypass surgery last year. Recently after one year of his surgery we did echocardiogram. His EF has become 58%. Why has this happened? I know its in the range but what could be the reason for this 2% reduction? And what can he do to increase in to 60% once again? Please reply.

      In order to increase the EF, he would need to use the Ayurvedic medicines such as Arjuna, Ashwagandha, etc. Have your dad consult with an Ayurvedic doctor and they will be able to help.

    last month my father suffered from creatinine problem with 2.3 then we went to hospital and suggested with them.. then they took ecg for heart 83bpm then in echo ejection fraction is only 30% but he have not any shortness of breath he can walk without any breathing problem.. Doctors said there is no chance to improve his injection fraction. Angioplasty is also done only after bringing the creatinine level below 1 point.. now he is taking food diet and medicine to decrease creatinine level...
    Can we improve injection fraction from 30% to 60% sir...
    Is there any possibility of increasing ejection fraction if his creatinine level decreases??,
    Pls reply me sir.. doctors also feared me and my mom by saying there is no possibility to increase his heart function and whatever may happen in upcoming days... Pls I beg you sir..
    Reply me..
    His hemoglobin level also 9 point only.. if his blood increase ejection fraction increase or not?? Pls reply me sir
