    One of the most important details about The Lone Ranger is that he only uses silver bullets as to "remind himself of the value of a life". Philosophically, I think that's an amazing detail that makes the character much deeper than the average western hero.

  • @LadyRoyce

    John Reid (AKA: The Lone Ranger.) is the ancestor of none other then Britt Reid (AKA: The Green Hornet.) In one of the older Green Hornet comics, we see Britt standing in front of a fireplace and hung over the mantle is a painting of The Lone Ranger on Silver therefor, linking the two together by family blood.

      Yep, Christian so true. There is also a Brit Jr and even a daughter of Kato in the comics timeline. Heroism definitely runs in both families.

    After all these years of being with Tonto, he's still referred to as "The Lone Ranger". How unimportant must Tonto feel?

      He's called Lone Ranger coz he was the lone survivor/ranger in the massacre. Tonto is a native.

      Well Fuck Robin, Bucky, Marvel Jr., Krypto, and every other sidekick that's not on every single comic book page with their name right next to the MAIN CHARACTER in bold ass high def colors.
      Its enough that they have the sidekick in there playing serious roles and not for comic relief. Go fuck yourself you over sensitive ass.

      Well if you can stop acting like an elementery school specal ed. case, then maybe I would treat you with more respect, but I wont. The fact that you are so stupid about a simple title, get pissed when called out for it, then try to actually argue the point like a fucking idiot when you know you're wrong proves you are an idiot times 10 to the 5 power. Don't talk to an adult unless you can think at the same level as one, kid.

    • @PremiumBlank
      @PremiumBlank 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look kid, if talking to you at your low level mentality is the only way to get you to understand then that's what is going to happen. You have a stupid argument based on shit else then getting your feeling hurt for being corrected by somebody who knows better. You have had no REAL argument since your very first post. Seriously, are you really that stuck on stupid or is their hope for you?

    • @PremiumBlank
      @PremiumBlank 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Valen Dreugh
      No, you bitched a fit like a 9 year old because you thought the title was wrong, then made it like it was anti Native American. When called out on both you lied and said you were being sarcastic for the Native American part and then continued to try and justify your idiotic argument.

    It should also be noted that the Lone Ranger was originally broadcast on the radio by the same company that handled the Green Hornet program and that John Reid was set up as Britt Reid's great-uncle.

      Lesson Met I agree. The way I see it, we're our own critics. People have different tastes in films. I like Lone Ranger 2013 too. I never knew where the theme song or that Hi ho Silver Away came from. Now I'm glad I do, and I'm pretty sure it was in the old days too

    • @PremiumBlank

      DarkPaladin24
      Yes it was the main catch phrase at the end where he would yell that and Tonto said "getty up Scout!" Scout being Tonto's horse. I for one didn't like it because Lone Ranger was supposed to be intelligent, not a fool. Tonto as well was not some mentally far gone character, but a serious and respectable person. If you seen the original first, you would hate the movie. If you seen the movie first and liked it, well that's on you.

    • @petemadrona2252

      Well, lucky for you, my friend, the critics had one simple, yet major error. THEY WERE ONLY LOOKING AT THEBOX OFFICE RESULTS. I mean come on, Hammer and Depp said that themselves! Remember, the majority of critics are in it for the money, not the content.... I mean, there isn't a single Johnny Depp movie that I think sucks (except for the latest POTC)

    Johnny Depp's Lone Ranger movie has the same problem as Bruce Lee's Green Hornet. Bruce Lee made Kato so popular that the Green Hornet fell in the background. I feel like they deliberately made Johnny Depp's Tonto like Jack Sparrow so could sell more tickets. The movie overall suffers from it. ESPECIALLY the way they took so long to get to the fighting scenes, I mean come on! I prefer the actual Lone Ranger to this trainwreck.

    "Kimosabe" is a mis-pronounced phrase in Spanish, "Qien no sabe" that means, roughly, "He who knows nothing". "Tonto", as was pointed out earlier, means "dumb" or "dummy"...
    So the Lone Ranger and Tonto ride around, and the Ranger will say, "Hey Dummy!", to which Tonto replies, "Yes, He Who Knows Nothing?"...

    • @christianjohnson5379
      @christianjohnson5379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But kemosabe might mean something completely different in Tonto's native language. Every language has a different meaning to certain words.

    All the years that I watched The Lone Ranger as a child I never knew he was based on the black man Bass Reeves who was the best Ranger in America. He often rode with a Seminal Indian and at times used disguises. So good at his job was Bass Reeves that upon hearing he was the Ranger after them many criminals would just hand themselfs in.

    Not only is the Lone Ranger related to the early version of Green Hornet the creator of the radio show even intended one to be a modern version of the other. The Lone Ranger also has a nephew, who's horse is named Victor. That was actually mentioned in A Christmas Story. The whole reason why John Reid calls himself the Lone Ranger is of course do to his brother and fellow rangers being ambushed and killed.

So whether some people enjoyed it or hated it. I think it got it's point across. Long Ranger kicks ass.

    My guess would be that he is the only one standing up for the law since most of the other rangers were killed.

    You should do a supervillain origin of Doomsday

    Well you can't really fit a whole movie into a say 23 page book. All that really matters is if they keep the origins straight. And to be fair it's more based of the Ultimates.

    the lone ranger is a superhero? And I guess this comic book is the reason why the gritty lone ranger became a box office bomb.

    Disney's Lone Ranger was terrible. We want a proper Lone Ranger series to be set 130 years after the original Lone Ranger rode through the old west.
