    This is one of the best videos ever made. No stupid musical background and just plain facts about good engineering. Well done my friend

    Most underrated motorcycle here ;) wish the caliper bolts and frame bolts didn't rust out so easy.

    Why loosen the bleed nipple and risk introducing air? Forcing pads back against pistons just pushes fluid back into master cylinder, so just make sure there's room for a slight backflow in the master cylinder. Use an old syringe if you need more space for fluid if new pads are much thicker than old worn pads.

      The method I use has zero chance of introducing air.
      The fluid in the caliper is also the worst fluid in the system so it's an ideal opportunity to get it out.

      @@sirobb I mean correct but unless your running track days over and over or actually doing a service interval that bleeder value is unesscary just a flat head and open up the backflow and you should be good. However orginal video is correct that is the worst over cooked brake fluid it's good to change it every year or so.
      Just got further in the video... how dare you put those old ass pads back on. EBC sintered brakes are the best FA335HH fronts and FA671HH for rear for 09-15 k1300s. They run 29.99 USD

    FYI, Brembo pads are identical, to the bmw pads, save for the external packaging, and price !

    • @sirobb
      @sirobb  ปีที่แล้ว

      For accuracy, Brembo make an identical version of the OE pads because Brembo are the OE manufacturer but not all Brembo pads are identical. There are a few compound variations depending on what characteristics you want.
      The pads in the video were the same price anyway so no extra was paid.

      @@sirobb Agreed, if it is identical, then it is the Red backed coloured pads.
      The K1300R has different pads, you need to remove the caliper first, then the top plate (2 small screws (take care they are under tension and can ping off), remove R clip and the retaining pin should pull out (from the outer face (it is blank in the inner face)) then the pads come out from the bottom of the caliper. In the famous words of Haynes reassembly is the opposite way !
