NOW THAT'S IT!! FINALLY! I've been searching for years for authentic, pure, ancient European pagan music that didn't sound like a medieval fantasy game, nor was tarnished by postmodern "reconstructionist" BS. I mean, an european pagan music that held the serious, solemn aspect of ritual and lithurgy, that sound like it's an actual and serious summoning of the Gods. Many thanks for sharing, Agne, and my deepest respect and admiration for Kulgrinda! (sorry the misspellings, my keyboard is set to brazilian portuguese and we don't have nearly as many characters as lithuanian... ;) )
Bruno LeCathare and actually there are some Lithuanians who were emigrated to south and north americas and they still do the same things as we do these rituals with these songs in other continents, you need to search them on Facebook as a page named “Romuva”
What a beautiful song! I learned this year that I have Lithuanian ancestry and wanted to reconnect with my ancestors. Thank you for uploading this song!
I could imagine these chants at a ritual drinking aminita mushrooms deep in the woods connecting to the gods, and seeing nature, my grandmother is Lithuanian american I feel spiritually alive hearing these it is ancestral and shamanic for sure it reminds me of some of the native american traditions, especially the mother earth and father sky thing.
Hello, MrDecentlife :) I hope, that I have made translation not too late: The red sun set in the evening Tūto (2x Tūto) Betūto (Tūto - just for the completeness of the rhytmical, esthetical song complex, without semantic meaning) Not so much she was red, how with the red marks Daddy is coming along the road He bowed to the sun up to the ground (Similar plot, action goes with mother, brother, sister - whole family shows recpect to the sun :) ) If you have any questions or want more translations, I really can help you :)

+Bruno LeCathare if you are interested in Archaic Lithuanian polyphonic chanting, check out ''Trys Keturiose''
alala Wonderful music also! Reminds me of MeNaiset, with a more archaic, spontaneous nuance to it. Thanks for the very nice suggestion!

Check out Laboratorium Pieśni and Wardruna, if you already haven't
I love it!! Real ancient pagan music, it reminds me a little bit of "Pulkun " :) Greetings from a Polish guy!

@DelTevynes Na, kad čia ne prūsų, o lietuvių giesmė Saulei. Bet Kūlgrinda turi atskirą albumą ir prūsų dainoms :)
@Mykoliukee Nuslaide saulala vakari raudona.
Ne tiek ji raudona kiek pazaruota.
Ataina sesūte viešuoju kelaliu,
Nuslanke saulalai ligi pat žemelai.
Hey people! Does someone have a translation of the lyrics?
Hello, MrDecentlife :) I hope, that I have made translation not too late:
The red sun set in the evening
Tūto (2x Tūto) Betūto (Tūto - just for the completeness of the rhytmical, esthetical song complex, without semantic meaning)
Not so much she was red, how with the red marks
Daddy is coming along the road
He bowed to the sun up to the ground
(Similar plot, action goes with mother, brother, sister - whole family shows recpect to the sun :) ) If you have any questions or want more translations, I really can help you :)

Is it really an ancient song or just a recent stylization/imitation? How old can the song be?
It’s old,very very very old

Giesmės Saulei išsiverčia į "Carols for the Sun", not "Hymns of the Sun"
Šitą dainą dainuojant per lietų, - lietus sustabdomas ..
