    Hi it’s a great video but you didn’t mention how PTH causes bone resorption. So here it is. PTH acts on osteoblasts which increases expression of RankL. This RankL causes differentiation of osteoblasts in to osteoclasts which causes bone resorption. Hence PTH causes oesteoclastic activity (maturation of osteoclasts) & osteoclastic osteolysis (bone resorption)

    calcitriol is used by intestinal cells to synthesize proteins that actively carry (absorb) calcium, this process is called active calcium absorption, enabled by vitamin d but not forcing it.
    There is a high percent of calcium absorption not dependent on active absorption, active absorption is critical though as part of the regulatory system of ionized/phos regulation in serum, but not solely dependent on it.

  • @time2travel0

    I have had high calcium levels for years. I had a ultrasound and ct scan last year and it was find that my PTH levels were high. I was diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism. Also, deficient in Vitamin D levels. I’m currently taking Sensipar and 1000 IU of Vitamin D. What are your thoughts?

      Try 6-9mg/day of boron to support the parathyroids & 200+mcg of Vit K2-mk7. Also Iodol (Lugol's Oil) - Iodine needed to support the Thyroid.

  • @corwynwarwaruk2141

    Does vitamin k2 have a role in the calcium utilization in the nerves? Any role with parathyroid glands? Vitamin k2 carboxylates matrix GLA protien preventing calcification of arteries & carboxylates osteocalcin so it can deposit calcium into the bones. What are the other roles of vitamin k2 in calcium metabolism?

    • @donapodaca3729
      @donapodaca3729 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great "add" with the role of K2! Another factor is adequate boron for proper parathyroid reg of mag. & cal. Also adequate iodine for C cell reg.

  • @yogesh4596

    Osteoblast doesnt have calcitonin receptors. Calcitonin receptos are present in osteoclasts cells. However, since bone resorption and bone formation are coupled processes, eventually calcitonin's inhibition of osteoclastic activity leads to increased osteoblastic activity.

    So blood level of calcium is much more used for. Cellular process like nerve more rather than strengthening bone mineral

    This is the opposite advice my consultant gave me. He said high levels of calcium in blood causes osteoporosis as well as heart problems, fatigue and other serious symptoms.

    • @donapodaca3729
      @donapodaca3729 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the conflict you see revolves around the distinction between total serum Ca levels and the proportions therein that include both Ca ions and bound-Ca. Health problems evolve with excess protein-bound Ca (essentially excess calcifications of the body's SOFT tissues). Ca leaching from bone/teeth is often driven by too LOW of pH (HIGH acidity) in tissues, as Ca alkalizes that excess acidity. The body proper pH tissue levels are partially regulated from adequate Vit D, Magnesium Iodine, Boron, & Vit. K2 for the proper balancing of Ca. imho - cheers
