Amazing video! I have a question. What protects the osteoclast itself from the enzymes and acid that is produced by it? If those enzymes and acids can dissolve bone matrix, they can easily destroy the osteoclast itself, too. Do they have some kind of protection?

the osteoclasts secretes the enzymes and the cell's plasma membrane would prevent it from reacting with the osteoclast.
