RPWP is my favourite solo project out of all the members, and my favourite album of all time!! I LOVE RPWP WITH ALL MY HEART 💜 My top 3 favourite songs from this album are: 1. Heaven 2. Around The World In A Day 3. Nuts
Jimin and Namjoon did an "interview exchange" regarding their albums. In each of them we get to know more in depth the why of their songs. It would be great if you could see it :3 RPWP It's a great album! Nam put a lot of heart into it.
1:20 the art work is from a comic titled "Sweathearts" by Martin Groch, but only some of the original characters were included in the album art work and promotion. "Sweathearts, a drama in nine acts by Martin Groch, is a collection of cartoons drawn between 2021 and 2023 chronicling the misadventures of characters from the Sweathearts typeface. The characters include a duck, musician, socialite, businessman, detective, vampire, and curator who find themselves in improbable and nightmarish situations with no logic or explanation." Here is a summary of the comic told by the author (it matches RPWP SO much it literally sounds like it was made for it) "Who am I? Where am I going? Those are the questions inherent to our Sweathearts, seriously. No jokes, a lot of fun. I swear. What else would it be? A bit of coolness, wearing masks and being lost, little dances - that might be true for most of the characters in the book. If not all. But drama is real - glimpses of stories rather than fully-fledged ones. Relationships are constantly trying to get a grip. But try to be steady while dancing on the oblique floor. Vaudeville hook is creeping around the corner. Most of the characters are falling short, being outdated. Those who feel the pulse of today are putting everything on fire. They all have a hard time finding where to go. I sweat all of it; it’s there."-Martin Groch
Namjoon is an artist that is true to his feelings he expresses his feelings through his music , he thinks a lot about life and stuff that not many people pay attention to it every album is so different from each other just like different periods of life
i love “odd, unsettling” music like this. artists like tyler, the creator do it SO well and I'm so glad joon dropped this album. it was one of my favourites last year 🙂↕️
12:14 It is Japan ahahahaha The album was made in Japan, Korean and UK. If you watched the documentary you'd see him going to each countryy to work with the artists.
rpwp was released right during my long bus ride and it was THE BEST experience of my life. just alone going somewhere on a whim, kind of lost in life but taking the best out of it
8:42 Don't worry, I get what you mean. I don't take it as if you are ranking them saying you think one is better than the other but just telling us about you and your personal music taste. We still know JK brought you in and that JK and Jin are your biases. I come from listening to all kinds of music but rock, punk, metal and different forms of alternative rock and lots of more blues rock too and mostly and often a bit more dark and introspective lyrics or poetic singer/songwriters etc. so RM, Tae and Yoongi are closest to that and what I probably listened most to as well as BTS more dark or ballady or societally critical songs but that doesn't mean I think those 3 are better than the rest or that I don't listen to the rest.
It was the best album by a korean artist in 2024. It also was in almost every list of best albums of 2024. It is an highly critically acclaimed album with the top scores. He is THE MUSICIAN. He has put out the most risk taking, experimental music i have ever heard. And as always, true to his words....he is giving a middle finger to the 2 mins tiktok hits with no substance. And i love him for it...He is everything. ("Fck the trendsetter"....a line in one of his songs)
On the surface it may seem like a breakup album honestly I think it was more of a breakup with himself he explains it better than I can on the minimony album exchange. With jiminI honestly didn't understand this album at first. musically I hated it but it took a few more listens and hearing what he has to say about the depression and the feeling that went into it to make you understand how great it is! it's not meant to be enjoyed it's meant to be experienced and sometimes experiences are uncomfortable or maybe it would be better to say unsettling but you should react to the album exchange
Yes the album was about himself and his struggles (We know that from MiniMoni), but we also think that there was a devastating breakup too. He did say in MiniMoni that he went through a lot of things that year.
Although you keep thinking this is a album about an ex he was with the music really is RM himself, this entire album is him escaping his past self and changing. It’s a breakup of the RM that entered the industry he’s matured he was in the right place but was the wrong person all those many years he’s past his 20s and in a new moment in his life
RM is my bias and when this album came out I knew I was going to buy it. Then I heard Domodachi and I was like Wtf! This is too weird! I’m not going to like this! Listened to the whole album twice before I became obsessed with it. Domodachi is now one of my favorite songs on the album! It is unsettling but I believe it’s a masterpiece. If the album had been submitted as Alternative Music, I believe it would have been at least nominated for a Grammy (Scammy)..
That's so funny, and so interesting how our brains all receive music differently. I love it... for me Domodachi was the track that, as I was listening, literally made me giggle in joy at how good it was and reach out to make sure I knew which track it was. I love it so much. I'd say by 2nd or 3rd listen it was topped by ATWIAD, but Domodachi is still that track for me since day 1. Do you remember any particular track that stood out to you on first listen? 💜
I love the album openings you do, and I love the album rpwp so much!! Also, Peachy, it's my birthday today, I just turned 20 years old 🎉yay!! Love your reaction, Peachy 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Also peachy you have little hearts in your eyes!!
1:15:00 CBTM isn't about an ex. From how he described it in RPWP documentary it's more about accepting the hardships of life, like with "roll you to the moon" and Sisyphus who spends eternity rolling a boulder up a mountain... Allowing the pain and the difficult parts to come in and accepting that it's a part of life, and through that acceptance finding peace. I definitely took Nuts as a break-up song, but I don't necessarily agree that this is a break-up album, I think it's a mix of all the things, but especially about his relationship to the music industry as well and just all the shit known and unknown that has happened to him, especially in Domodachi and Groin. I think threads of this album can be seen in the lyrics of Yun as well, if you check out it's lyrics where he raps about being told he has to do things in a certain way to be successful and this amoung many things that was the start of his burn-out and feeling disconnected from himself and his art. But ofc like you said, art is all about an individual's interpretation.
9:08 You won't, or shouldn't, get canceled for that. We all connect with music differently and our fandom is huge. I would say I'm the same was you... the 2 members I connected with musically from the beginning was Namjoon and Tae... they colour in the 1st month of my rabbit hole so distinctly (Jan 2023) and RPWP is probably one of my most favourite albums of all time, not just of the members. I love each and everyone's projects and have supported them all equally with streaming playlists/buying... and I was going to continue to rank the members, but it's not necessary... I'll just say I've connected with each of them in beautiful ways through their music, but it's also okay and normal to have preferences. I just also make sure to support them all equally no matter what as an Army. 💜
Def my album of the year for 2024, it was truly robbed of it's grammy nominations but at least it received a lot of recognition. Very highly rated and critically acclaimed ❤
Yeah ‘unsettled’ I think is a good description of not only the album but also what he felt that inspired it to begin with. The album talk video he did with Jimin was very eyeopening to just what might be going on in Joonie’s head during this time… To me Namjoon seems like the kind of artist that if he can’t say what he want to say he feels muzzled and trapped. I don’t know if that is a right take on him artistically, but its just how it seems to me. But he does seem like he is in a better place now, so whatever he comes up with next - I am here for it 💜
I agree with you Peachy. Yes the album was about himself and his struggles (We know that from MiniMoni), but I also think that there was a devastating breakup too. He did say in MiniMoni that he went through a lot of things that year.
@ They're 2 videos. When the first Mini Moni Music came out, ARMY didn't even know Jimin had made Muse. After reacting to Muse she can watch the second one.
@@shine-ow3kq i thought it'd make more sense to watch the minimoni videos together (and easier for her to not forget to watch one) but they're 30 minutes long so maybe she'd prefer to split them up.
Personally for me I listen to all kinds of music no matter the vibes I don’t stick to a genre or anything that’s why the reason for having a bias isn’t because of his music but more so personality wise ( I’m Jinkook biased ) so for example I’m listening to Yoongi and the next minute I listen to Jin ❤️🔥 Some choose their biases bc of their music preferences tho
Which songs I like the most off the album varies but now it's Around the world in a day, Nuts, Heaven... and the ? interlude... and Domodachi but I have such a headache and so tired so that one is a bit too high energy for me right now. All of the album is great but I really vibe with Around the world the most now.
You need to check out MiniMoni album exchange. It's RM and JIMIN reviewing each other's albums. And you get lots of insight. Around the world in a day music video was clips from his documentary. It follows him along on his album making journey with his team. His team consisted of Balming Tiger members including San Yang. I'm not sure who else. But he was definitely in Japan and in the UK for some of those clips. 교환앨범 MMM(Mini & Moni Music) - RM - th-cam.com/video/XQk7zOm68HU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=q3PUsSYC96TCJ7XZ 교환앨범 MMM(Mini & Moni Music) - 지민 (Jimin) - th-cam.com/video/EWwP3wKOVd4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kUjbzt4mAe1ve4kV
Have you listened to Sonic Youth? If not then check out their album Goo. Idk but based on what you said after Domodachi I think you might like their music. Goo was one of my fave albums growing up and I still like it and listen to it often. Their MV's are vibes to. Some of the like album art stuff and MV's, the photos etc of his album cover also reminds me of sonic youth and how the Goo album cover also has a... I can't find the English words... but that like hand drawn... comic book style.
Oh my original comment didn't post .... i was trying to give you advice on translators (instead of the lyric video's 'cause we don't want to encourage the use of them) but i guess it wont let me.... Any who yeah as someone else said please watch the Minimoni interviews (there is one for RM's album and one for Jimin's, if you've listened to the whole of Muse watch both). I find it interesting that many view the album as a break up album, as i see it being very introspective. He's feeling disassociated from himself (who he was and those around him) he hates the direction certain aspects of him life and he's fallen out of love with it. But he wants to go back to that Namjoon who he was the one who wasn't lost, angry and criticized for every little thing he does. He wants so bad to come back to himself, to feel and know what direction he should go in. I see it as very much a depression he went through and was working on through this album, he needed to get all the feelings out and he did. I'm not saying he didn't go through a break up i'm just saying i don't see it that way.
You need to watch Minimoni interview too if you want fully understand this album he talked about this album with jimin .

True. While there's definetely a chance he has an ex he isn't on good terms with, some of these lyrics are clearly not just about a former lover
