Um.. Huh.. I came across this video searching about wax canvas. But that was not important anymore after I saw this splendid woman. Gongrats, and best whishes.
would you please provide a list of the items you named in this video? I am a newbie and it would be helpful to see the spelling and have an idea where they can be purchased. thank you so much for your time and for making this video!
@@kahlospirit24 quite so, I'm in the same boat - the music makes it very hard to hear - I left my hearing behind down coal mines and it ain't coming back :
Anyone solved the problem of waxed canvas layers slipping when stitching? We're trying to put pockets on our packs but we can't glue the pieces (obviously) and the material is 24oz so pins are a no-go. We thought maybe stapling?
Thank you for watching and asking your question. You can try using clips, but if that is not an option, then perhaps a double sided basting tape would work for this. Happy Sewing!
Thank you for your question! There are so many variables between waxed canvas fabrics, as well as fusible interfacings. Fusible interfacing may not 'attach' to the coatings on waxed canvas (be sure to refer to waxed canvas manufacturer's recommendations before fusing). We really like the Sallie Tomato Faux Waxed Canvas because there's no coating to prevent fusibility. You could try a test with scraps of waxed canvas and your interfacing. Another option is using a sew-in interfacing with waxed canvas. We hope this helps.
Thank you for asking your question. That's a great question for your sewing machine serviceperson. A small, soft bristle toothbrush may help loosen the build up on your machine's feed dogs.
Thank you for commenting. Yes, I believe Quilting Cotton can be waxed; I've heard of a few people who have used beeswax but have not tried this. We currently don't carry any products to create waxed fabrics. You may be able to find more information from other youtube tutorials. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for asking your question. We've used waxed canvas minimally because we found there was a lot of wax buildup in our sewing machines. Which is why Jess developed the exclusive Sallie Tomato Duck Wax fabric; it looks like waxed canvas but has no wax in it. You can find this on www.sallietomato.com
So how do you actually clean those feed dogs properly and anywhere else that needs cleaned? I haven’t used it yet as I’m not sure I would clean thoroughly enough and don’t want to wreck my machine. Does anyone ever get an answer to their comments on here??
We have a machine tech in house. But make sure to join our Facebook group, there are thousands of like minded people that have similar questions and you will get answers very quickly! And there are probably some folks that are in fairly close proximity to you as well that can even refer places if you are worried about damaging the machine yourself.
Thank you

What was the stitch size? Listened a few tines but couldn't catch it ?
Thanks for asking your question! 3mm is recommended for the stitch length. :)

Will fusable interfacing stick to waxed canvas?

How do you clean the feed dogs afterwards? X

Excellent tips, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Can this be used for your Lucky Penny wallet?
No-as that is a raw edge on the Lucky Penny. This fabric would fray.

Can't hear you. Music covers your voice. Sorry.
Turn on captions..
Thank you for letting us know.
I wish you would lose the music - it adds nothing and we ain't all got young ears to hear with
Thank you for watching and letting us know so we can keep improving on our tutorials. Happy Sewing!
Nice video and as many others have mentioned, "great eyes"!!! One thing though turn the music WAY down. It is very distracting and adds ZERO value.
Thanks for commenting and sharing your feedback on this video so we can continue to improve on our videos! :)
