I used to be freaked out by the smallest of arachnids, now I'm okay with the occasional bigger false widows that start dangling from the ceiling as soon as I turn off the lights (freak behaviour honestly) but just now I saw either a giant house spider or a cardinal and it was bigger than 10cm and I can't sleep. seeing you handle them freaked me out and calmed down at the same time. it's always good to know more about these creatures.

I'm a recovering arachnophobe and videos like this have helped me a ton. I hope to some day handle a giant house spider like you do in this video. So far the largest spider I have handled was a flat one about the size of a coin that wandered in through my window. Every time I handle a spider, I feel a lot less afraid of other spiders the same size, so now the game is just to work up to the biggest one I can manage.
I find that a good starting point for most people who are afraid of spiders is to capture, house and take care of a jumping spider. Since they are cuter, have less spindly legs and appear to have an engaging and curious disposition, most people (even arachniphobes) are generally less fearful of them. And caring for one while you observe them is therapeutic! Just be careful handling them so as to not injure them, they are delicate and fast! LOL
Coolest spider. Excellent at running, poor at hiding. When I see one, I make sure it is not in a place where someone might accidentally hurt it. Last year I helped a particularly gorgeous one out of the sink. They are so calm and well-behaved.
Holding these guys and keeping them as pets cured my arachnophobia. They're surprisingly friendly and it's almost humanising when I see them eat their food and clean themselves.
I love the delivery, production value and editing on this! Sounds more like a 200.000 subscriber channel than a 20 subscriber one. Keep those videos coming - especially the creepy crawlies.
A lot of people actually don`t believe me this. I have arachnophobia. I can control it a bit. It`s not that bad. But, like a lot of those folks, I also don`t appreciate this spider inside my home. However, in our shed, where we got two horses, I saw one in the water bucket. I thought it is dead. I lifted it out and suddenly she began to move. There I said, damn it, I`m gonna rescue her. That`s what I did. Took her out with a broomstick and put her on the wall where she disappeared. I`m glad that I did it. Feels good.
I have a horse too and am at the stables a lot. I see these things everywhere and don't give a damn f*ck about them being there. One even had put its net under my horse's automatic waterer and I didn't care, I cleaned the bowl like nothing was wrong. But at home they make me anxious and I need to have them relocated by someone. Don't know why they scare me so much at home. Maybe because I've got nowhere to run in case it gets too close to me.
I don’t want them to die in the cold so I just leave them be. Most of the time they run away hiding when humans enter the room so why should I bother. If you don’t have any bugs they will leave voluntarily, too, so one more reason to just leave them be. But five yrs ago this would have been a huge problem, I used to be afraid (don’t calling it a phobia tho) of most spiders as well. I had to reprogram my brain with videos like this! Great work!
@@Gregrs400 HA ! Thank you Greg : I mixed up with his brother Richard who passed away in 2014, and whom I did not know of !!! It is strange because I recall that when this was announced at that time (so probably in 2014), I thought to myself : what a great shame he died. I was certainly not listening correctly to what was said, because I really thought, at the time, that it was the naturalist who had died. I checked : sir David is still around and is now 95. Thanks for your comment. I have just found out that Sir David Attenborough showed interest in insects and animals already very young in his existence. The same for me : I collected insects and spiders at the age of 3 in the garden and my mother stopped me from collecting spiders (I then had spider phobia, but NEVER killed any), because she was afraid that they would sting me. Unfortunately, I do not have the scientific level and high grade of Mr Attenborough, but I very much like his personality in general and find very pleasant to listen to his broadcasts. He is very "érudit" and is très plaisant (pleasant) to listen to. Thanks.
Just wantd to pop by and say thanks for putting this out there! I'm trying to lessen my arachnophobia, and while I never like killing spiders I find it really hard to cohabit with these larger fellas, so finding vids like yours where someone's handling them (while the spider calmly wanders about their hands) with narration and jaunty music is really helping.
LOL my cat is an arachniphobe. He will wake me in the middle of the night because he sees a spider on the wall and I will be like "Let it alone and go to sleep!" , but I usually have to move it outside or he will not shut up! I am fine with the spider, but not with my cat's persistent b***ing about it! 🤣😂
I had a house spider who live in my old bedroom of a farm house, made a nice thick nest across 2 wooden beams on the low ceiling and would tuck away in a little crack in one of the beams, he would chill on the web often I’d see him everyday for 2 years, he caught so many bugs. I’m pretty certain he recognised me as i go near him and speak to him😂 He was there until the day I moved out, miss you Trevor.
Love these spiders! We have them as a introduced species here in the PNW, USA. I once saw one upstairs on the wall, a male that was so large I swear it was almost the size of my hand. Gentle inoffensive creatures, they are always welcome in my home. Great Video!
I'm 37 and I've had Aracnaphobia all my life. However for charity this year. I held a Chilean Rose Tarantula. She was docile and I've no idea what I was afraid of all along.
Hey Scottyyourback! sorry about the reply, I didn’t see I had a message from you! That’s a great story! I’ve never held a tarantula but I’ve seen a wild one in Costa Rica, they’re beautiful, I’m envious, and glad she helped change your mind :)
If I see one I just leave them. Feed them if I can. But they'll move if the feeding ground sucks lol. Literally impossible to get a giant house spider to bite you. They help out a lot and pretty cute.
You may have inspired me to just turn the other cheek when I see another one in my room this evening. Every evening this week, without fail, I have seen a GH Spider. Two I have placed outside. One, regrettably, I killed with a hoover as it was very large, very late at night and in a difficult place but close to where I rest my head! I might just roll over this evening
Nice one!! Yeh Ive seen like 4 huge ones in the house over the last few days. The end of this month and September is when you'll definitely see them! Thanks for the message man, made my day :)
I was going to comment on the high production values and how natural you are as a presenter and narrator, and the fact that you should be on TV, but many other viewers have said it already in the comments. I think the only reason you have so few subscribers is that the TH-cam algorithm focusses on and rewards regular uploaders who can make them more money with ads. That shows how broken TH-cam really is. Anyway, great work Thomas! I'm currently enjoying your excellent pond surface tension video!
I just wish they cooperated more. Like, sat there calmly while I catch & relocate them instead of freaking out and darting under furniture and stuff. They're frustrating to interact with. I wouldn't be half as scared of them as I am if they just acted calmer. How am I supposed to relax around them if they're so jerky and jumpy? Come on, spiders, get a grip. ;P
Hahaha I agree, have to say I was wondering how cooperative this one was going to be, luckily he was pretty chilled out! I suppose we would both be a little jumpy if we were sat in a giants hand :D but, I know it can be unnerving. I would just say to anyone who's not comfortable handling them directly to use a cup or something. Nice one for relocating them!
These spiders have been introduced to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle here) and are now quite common in homes here. Every autumn people - especially newcomers - are terrified when the males start popping up looking for females. many assume them to be wolf spiders who have wandered in to get out of the cold. Others are convinced that they are brown recluses (their range doesn’t come anywhere near us, but some people are just convinced anyway).
This is my favourite spider. I held this spider a while ago. Although that was the biggest spider I’ve held. It was harmless. Most spiders aren’t harmful as in bite you. So I don’t fear them
I have a bunch of these things emerge from my room, id be okay with having them if they stuck to a certain place. but they roam during the day. And i usually catch them out the corner of my eye sitting at my desk. They dont seem to build webs, or at least i have had minimal webs in my room. I've even had 3 come from under my bed and even a giant one crawling across my bed. Im probably not the most aracnophobic, but these things do creep me out. How do i get rid of them, without killing them, and without catching them. (as im simply too afraid of them to catch them in a container or such) I strongly need advice. as i have killed a couple so far, but it really doesent feel like the right thing to do as they're these massive beutiful creatures.
Best method is the sheet of paper and a plastic cup/tub trick. Cover them with the tub then start to slowly slide the paper underneath until he's between the paper and the tub. Then take him outside and put him beside a shed if possible. A glass jar also works
I have the same problem. I don’t like the idea of harming Spiders, but the fear kicks in and I have to get rid of them. I can’t have medium or large house spiders in my bedroom or bathroom. I can’t get close enough to do the cup and paper method, but the Spider/Insect hoovers are great for small and medium sized one. You can keep a safe enough distance and it doesn’t injure the spider. They might be scared of the motor, but the alternative would be worse. I’m desperate to get my phobia cured and find videos like this help.
This is a fab video, please make more. I like spiders and I cured my phobia of them by watching a guy like you handling them. His channel is called "Dark Den" and he has hundreds of different creepy crawlies including many different species of tarantula. First step when you see a spider is to name it, Fred (male) and Fredweena (female) works for me for all spideys, once you've done this start talking to them, they all have a personality much like humans and experience pain, happiness, joy and sadness. I learned a lot on that channel including how to differentiate between male and females. I'm now of the mindset, just let them be so they can do their job.
Hey D.! I love the dark den! I was actually a bit scarred of filming this video and found his channel. I watched a bunch and bang, haha next thing you know I have this house spider on my hand!
Good video man! I hate it that these spiders are so misunderstood. They get killed by almost everybody I know. If I see one in my house I let is sit where it is, after a few hours it's gone. They are absolutly harmless and like you said very important for catching insects. Good there are people like you spreading the message!
Just last night a male made his way into my sister's room. She HATES spiders so I took him outside and dropped him right beside a female's web. He slowly started to make his way up the dark funnel and I haven't seen him since lol
I let my spiders stay, they are welcome to keep down pests that make noise (flies) and bite (mosquitos)! But I leant over yesterday and came directly eye to eye with a massive specimen of one of these guys. Now, I'm not an arachnophobe, I can handle them happily, but for that split second, I may as well have been staring down the throat of Lion. It surprised me as much as anything, but the pure size of that guy unnerved me too, there are one or two species of spider that I just won't allow to stay near the busy parts of my house. That one in particular was chucked over the back fence, I just hope there was no one on the other side...
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Great insight to the house spider. I do have a spider gun which helps in putting them outside. They run pretty quick.
Thanks Sam! I’m really glad you liked the video, when I was in my grandparents shed filming this I didn’t realise how many people would like it 😂 I haven’t tried those!
@@ThomasAuldWildlife my daughter has a serious phobia netting around the bed you name it. I got a spider gun from Amazon. Its a long stick with a spring handle at the end and has a set of brushes that expand which you place over the spider and release spring handle gently and it traps it in the long brushes. U then put it outside and pull the handle again to release the spider without any damage. I am now used to most spiders but the cardinals run so fast it unnerves you. I have found this gun most useful
I've actually changed my mother's view of spiders and other bugs. Now she catches and releases (or tries her best to. She still gets a bit squeamish sometimes but she's trying) and she is interested and fascinated by them (even if larger spiders still freak her out a bit lol). She calls me to come catch and release the larger ones but spiders and other lil bugs fair quite well in our home now...er.. unless they happen to be spotted by the cat 😅. I also changed my grandmother's views of them (I miss her everyday) and my uncle's become fascinated by spiders and other large insects/bugs/etc. I'm happy that I have been able to change the perspectives of some people. Makes at least a little bit of a positive difference for the lives of creatures that so many are afraid of.
I hate mosquitoes and flies, so I love spiders. In the garden or in the bathroom or coming down on a web in the home office: I just move them out of the way so I won't accidentally hurt them...
I'm not quite ready to pick one up so I use a container to catch them if I need to move them. All I see in my home are yellow sac spiders at night and cute little zebra jumping spiders in the day. I like these big house spiders but they disappear if I spot one inside or unfortunately found dead on cob webs out on my balcony when I release them. I never kill any bugs, they all have their purpose.
You are so professional 😍 you need to keep on dude. Despite i have an arachnephobia and its really bad, this video awesome! I hope your channel gets bigger and bigger. (sorry if my english was bad. My Mother tongue is not English)
I'm fine with Cellar spiders, Woodlouse spiders, etc... But I'll be darned if I'm letting one of those giant ass, fast motherfucking spiders live in my room. I
Great stuff! Well done, how many takes was it to actually get them to come out? As a rule of thumb I tend to keep a couple of Pholcidaes in corners or behind sofas to keep any woodlouse or carpet bug numbers down. Also as many tegenaria and steatoda in the loft as it's their habitat not mine, then if I see any Salticus scenicus about they just get free roam of anywhere inside or outside in the shed, those are so intelligent they deserve the keys!
I have seen 3 in my house in the past week. Do I possibly have an infestation of them? I’m scared of them but I’ve managed to keep calm enough to catch them and out them out altho my first instinct is to find something to squash it but I haven’t
Although there quite harmless I expect that goes for most people haha! Yep generally a wanderer in late summer/autumn will be a gentlemen looking for some love.
Why didnt I see this nicely done video before? Ive had a giant house spider in an enclosure in my office for a couple months now. Its such a beautiful animal. Unfortunately, its a male, so hell probably die in a short time, as the winter is approaching. Thanks for the vid, great stuff.
Thanks Jakob! That's cool, I love to keep tabs on some of the webs around me, there have been some massive spiders crawling around my house this year! You never know, chances are if he's comfy and not wandering around looking for the ladies he'll make it :)
pastor brian started by watching videos on them and got interested! Some awesome channels where they keep spiders as pets and are super informative...One called The Dark Den is great. I just started to see them as pretty and really interesting rather than scary!
Great video, great info, and lots of respect for you... Watching you handle them is fascinating but my gut still screams nope nope nope 😰... I’m trying to be less scared of these spiders
I really try to capture and release. Sometimes the job seems fit for a more skilled person, so I may get carried away with big ones. The area I live in has a lot of Brown recluse. Knowing that makes it hard to want to approach a house spider because It could be a recluse. I'm too scared to approach anything that resembles the Recluse. If it doesn't resemble then "Be free my friend". I am trying to overcome the fear of my hand rotting off from a single bite, but damn is it a tough ride.
Yeh don’t worry Stav, if it was a brown recluse I’d be a little less than enthusiastic about picking it up or anything myself haha. But I’d definitely help it outside with a glass or something! glad you try to capture and release!!
What does your family name means. I like the Pogues and listen often to them because I love Shane for a singer. He sings the "Auld triangle". What does "Auld" mean ? (If you have time to answer ; otherwise : never mind).
GHSs are lovely. Ones you see scuttling around inside your house are usually males. The females are usually found in their webs. September is the season where males search for the females. But you need to keep them away from cellar spiders who will eat them no matter how big they are. GHSs are also docile and will tolerate being handled. They dont normally go out of their way to interact with humans and are totally harmless unless you are a fly lol😂
Arachnaphobe here, but also enough of an animal lover to not kill spiders or any living being for that matter. I hope one day watching informative videos of spiders will make me not fear them. The small ones don't bother me at all, but the giant house spider is one that i keeps freaking out about. :(
Animal lover wooh! It’s been a while since I made this and I don’t think I’m so naturally confident, I really have to use some logic and thinking to convince myself they’re fine!
I have cared for about 11 house spiders thru 6 years. These days, I have a tarantula, a Brachypelma emilia juvenile. I find it very sad, that the common house spider is being eradicated by the daddy longlegs spider (Phalangoides) species. Our house spiders ARE part of our original fauna, here in Denmark...
Technically yes, but not enough to harm you. It's the equivalent of brushing past nettles. It'll just sting for a short while and leave a small red bump. Not harmful
Jus had a huge one in the house, threw it out using a glass and card. Tho wasps also seem to get in our kitchen... If i kept the spider would it eat the wasps lol?
aman00777 yep! If they got stuck in the web! Chances are you have more than one, everyone does! They’re curled ups in corners taking care of flies and pests, we only notice them when they walk around the house during breeding season (now)
funny,I have strong phobia especially when it comes to giant house spiders but I have no phobia when it comes to tarantulas..I even had heteroscodra maculata as a pet for some time and that's like one of the most dangerous tarantulas in a world..
Our parents raise us to be scared of them. If you have parents who arent frightened of picking them up then theres a good chance you will grow up not being scared of them either.
I make an effort to live in harmony with them. I used to kill them, but jumping spiders began my path to not harm any spiders. I usually take them outside if they are too big. But i have read that spiders dont last long when taken outside. Am i just giving them a death setence? 😢😢😢
These are like the spiders I have picked up and handled and I can see they are usually males. They came out at night and I have kept the cats away from them
Oui, c'est une tégénaire ! I do not take them in hands, but free them into my garden when they enter because of the rain. I have Pholcus for inside and leave them in peace because they are static spiders that scarcely move (and so you seldom risk to have them walking on you, which would scare me) and, the Pholcus is the BEST hunter because it eats all other spiders, including tegenaria (unfortunately, because I like tégénaire) and all sorts of insects. Pholcus is not pretty like tégénaire, but very "redoutable" for a hunter, in spite of its size and legs of the size of a hair ! Do you know the Pholcus ? And yes : your video sounds very professional and you chose a very good music for it !
Hi Zoe! Yeh I do know Pholcus! I’d never heard the Latin name before so thanks for teaching me! I call them cellar spiders, they’re amazing aren’t they! Incredible that they can eat house spiders like you said. And thanks for the compliments :)
@@ThomasAuldWildlife Yes, they indeed Pholque often live in cellars. I once was in someone else's cellar and unfortunately, that person had frozen them on the ceiling with a special spray ! Total ignorance ! They are amazing because they are so fragile and can kill all sorts of other insects and, as I said : even the poor tégénaire (in French). Yes, so you learnt their name now. They turn like mad in their web when they feel something. I have to admit I have them all over in my living room. It is very hot here in France and there are insects coming in when we have a little rain. I do not disturb my Pholcus, but they have not been very successful this year at catching my numerous big black flies I had in July !!! Yesterday, for once : we have had heavy rain and, guess what : I have found a not too big tegenaria on my curtain in my living room this morning because precisely of the rain last night ! Think it was a male. I quickly put it in a glass jar (cause have been dévoré by the next door Pholcus by my computer !) and released the poor guy in my barn. Voilà. All the best to you. See : I am 60 years of age and still talk like a youth when I talk about what I like in life !
ZOE BIDULE yes I watch them a lot when they move to warn of threats, spinning around in their webs! I’m glad you find them so interesting as well! The best to you too!
I have arachnophobia, but I can force myself to rehome spiders (not those spindly fucks, they're cool). My dad's house which I grew up in is Georgian. Spiders would make a spitter-spatter sound across the floor, we would get larger spides due to the nature of the house build and the cavaties in the walls. I only have a phobia due to a single vivid memory of going up the curved stairs to be greeted with a spider which I remember as being as big as the step itself (roughly a foot long, which clearly isn't true). Thinking about my "fear" I figured it's anxiety and paranoia, not a true fear, since I don't care for spiders when I know of their locations, I only hate the "suprise" spiders and "phantom webs". I suspect this is the same with 90% of sufferers.
Hey ShieldMaiden000! Thanks for the comment I’ll work on that in the future. The statistic was that spiders worldwide consume about 400-800 million tons of prey each year, so are quite the awesome little pest controllers!
Its spider season I found one of the first ones in my home but I ultimately had to flush it down the drain in the shower bc it's big spooky and my dog does just fine at getting rid of flies and moths I would keep it alive but spoders are just too spoopy
I'm so relieved that the spider on my media room wall is just a giant house spider. At least I like to think it is O_O What other large spiders with medium skinny legs that are this size live in houses(It's not a cellar spider or a daddy long leg.)? If you could name a couple or just give me a list, I truly believe all my pointless worries would go away. And thanks for this video! You earned a sub. :)
Hi TTIWI! Well the house spiders are pretty characteristic! But wolf spiders, and nursery web spiders look similar and could find a way into your house. More likely if it’s not a house spider it will be a false widow of some kind. There are a few species and although the news would like you to think they’re dangerous, they’re not any more so than other spiders! I’ve picked them up before! The bites you see are usually because of a bacterial infection from scratching rather than the spiders. Hope that helps!
@@ThomasAuldWildlife Thanks, man! Good to know these things as a person who has a mild case of arachnophobia. I am now 100% sure that it was a giant house spider as I did some research today. If you ask google where Giant House Spiders are commonly found, google will tell you that they can be found in and around Washington state homes during the summertime, and how ironic, because I live in Washington state and it is summer ofc. Thanks for your help tho and keep making banger videos! :)
@@ThomasAuldWildlife You're completely fine. Now I've added how those spiders you listed look to my brain, so I can maybe identify them if I ever travel to England 😂
I caught 2 juvenile ones last week and released them after keeping them for a day and getting a good look at them and filming them / talking about them :) I used to be very phobic (other spiders I dont care about, but very big specimens of Eratigena Atrica scares me shitless lol) but now I just care less and try not to think about it. My phobia got better after I managed to catch a specimen with an impressive legspan of about 8 centimetres a few years ago. I'm still scared of their speed though. And I'm sure there is one hiding underneath the couch or fridge right now. XD
Nice! I like to keep some of them too, they're like pets tat feed themselves in my house anyway haha. It's good that you're getting over the phobia, best way I think is to confront it and it sounds like you're doing a great job :) They make me jump when they speed off too, they are fast little buggers!
Yes, I think what scares us is the fact that, when crossing a room, they run very fast ! Strangely enough, I very much like tegenaria, but i do not like dysdera which I find ugly. Probably because dysdera's belly looks very much like a tick's abdomen. I totally hate ticks. In Autumn, I get beautiful épeire frelon (Argiope bruennichi) in my garden I think they are the most beautiful spiders we get here in France with lemon yellow, white and black abdomen.
@@zoebidule3397 oh i think i know which spider you mean, in germany we call it the "wasp spider". they make beautiful webs! i see those every now and then in high grass.
@@annoyingbananana Yes the wasp spider is of big size and wears a "beautiful black and yellow jacket" (hee, hee) and they are named like this probably because of their colours similar to that of the wasp. The lemon yellow of that spider is to my taste prettier. In summer, we get the épeire diadème all over the place in the garden. This year one has built its web several times (4) on my clothesline ! That spider has lovely geometric drawings on its back but its colours (beige and brown) are not outstanding ! Camouflage...

This looks professional af! Great job!
Thanks! I really appreciate it! you might be surprised to know it was shot on an old dslr with a cracked screen, couldn't see a thing haha!
Agreed! Looks like something you’d see on tv! Music, voiceover, everything is on point! Great work
@@ThomasAuldWildlife u should be on country file bro very pro 👍
Well that’s a huge compliment, and that would also be dope haha
@@ThomasAuldWildlife i loved it it was so natural and informative . Ur also rather posh I would say ( in a good way)
Wow! You should be on TV doing this stuff! Soo professional, your a natural and TV needs fresh talent like yourself! Well done 👍
Wow thanks for the really kind comments :D!! I really appreciate it, have a great day!
I love the delivery, production value and editing on this! Sounds more like a 200.000 subscriber channel than a 20 subscriber one. Keep those videos coming - especially the creepy crawlies.
Thanks a lot for the support Marco, will do!
Feels good.
Great job, glad you were there to help out!
Giant spider “laughs in Australian”
Good for you they do a good job keeping flies down
@Gunner Storm Must have been really thirsty being on the bottom of the bucket. Next time I`ll hand her a bottle. She got eight legs. She`ll handle it.
Great work!
thanks I’m glad you liked the video!! and I’m glad it’s helped a bit :)
This is like some david attenborough editing and stuff! great camera work and editing, thanks
Thanks a lot! I'll be making more!
Yes, this is true. I myself adore Mr Attenborough's (who is deceased now, i think ?) broadcasts and always watch them here on my French TV.
@@zoebidule3397 He’s still around.
Thanks.
@@Gregrs400 I meant : spider phobia came maybe around the age of 6, if I remember well, for me.
Hey Cattrix999! Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! What a great way to describe them haha, I didn't know they were introduced over there!
Bro this is awesome! so proud of you
Faaaaanx
I have arachnophobia but find spiders fascinating. I usually put them outside and try not to harm them.
Nice!
Good advice Thomas! my house is FULL of them :) and no flies here last few years the house spiders are also fun to observe
Brilliant video all round Tom. You're a natural. Best of luck if you want to do this as your profession.
Thanks very much for the support Drew!
Was expecting to see at least 100k subscribers. You deserve way more my friend.
PkNess97 maybe we’ll get there, would be cool! Thanks so much for having a watch and leaving a comment! 🙂
You have to be very intelligent to not be afraid of things based on how they look. They are wonderful creatures.
The production on this video for a small creator is awesome man. Just subscribed, hope to see more.
Fake Namasta,Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it, I love getting comments like this from people! Hopefully you enjoy the other stuff I put up 😁
Im working on my arachnaphobia, thank you for holding them so gently 🥰🥺
Thanks for the comment!
So I don’t fear them
MMD Cømpåny Recøn! 公式 well said! They’re some of my favourite too!
(as im simply too afraid of them to catch them in a container or such)
I strongly need advice. as i have killed a couple so far, but it really doesent feel like the right thing to do as they're these massive beutiful creatures.
Watch em :) the more I watched them the more I learnt and the more I learnt the cooler I thought they were!
Thanks Moghwacy! sorry I missed your comment! well now your one of them too, glad you agree spiders are dope!
Just last night a male made his way into my sister's room. She HATES spiders so I took him outside and dropped him right beside a female's web. He slowly started to make his way up the dark funnel and I haven't seen him since lol
lol hopefully it was a good time and not a bad one for him, probably fine for her either way haha.
You should never put any spider on or near a random web, It's a death sentence for the poor spider. Most aren't social
SOOOO envious of anyone that can handle spiders like this.......wish I could.
Legend, I also want to educate people on spiders, especially this species
Great video bud! Like the narration included.
Thanks very much!
BRO I CLICKED ON THIS AND SAW THE GOOD QUIPALITY AND IMMEDIATLY WXPECTED AT LEAST 50K SUBS, BUT NO U DESERVE IT!

Eeeyy there we go, some common sense! Nice one Emkkahn, that’s what I do to, rather not have flies!

Exactly! I have no problem with garden spiders, daddy-long-legs or any other creepy-crawly... But the Tegenaria.............. No effin' WAY!
Male Tegenaria spiders can look a bit creepy. The females look less creepy.
I'm getting David Attenborough vibe here. Nice camera work.
Wow that’s praise! Thanks Robert!
@@ThomasAuldWildlife I honestly think that. Take care.
No you just have a gap somewhere :) probably on their way to look for some ladies!
We get loads of these in our house!! Interesting to learn between male/female but I doubt I'll be getting up close to find out lol !!

that we catch them in and put them out far away

How to hold one without being scared
Hey Timothy, I just realised, was this a question about how to do it?

Ellie Reagan thanks so much!! Thanks for watching it too!
So its September that they go out to mate?
Yep! Early September or Autumn is usually the beginning of the spider mating season, when the males will be looking for some love.
I didn't now that I found one 2 days ago but it scared the hack out of me but I didn't kill it I let if back under my shed
It’ll be taking care of some flies then!
That’s so awesome that you have pets!
is that soider venomous btw??
Totally, I think a lot of us learn to be scarred as kids!

I make an effort to live in harmony with them. I used to kill them, but jumping spiders began my path to not harm any spiders. I usually take them outside if they are too big. But i have read that spiders dont last long when taken outside. Am i just giving them a death setence? 😢😢😢
Great Video mate!
Thanks Jack! I appreciate it 🙂
this makes me want to cry why would you touch it don’t touch
But it was such a cute little 8-legged friend!
I hate spiders
Looks like he telling the bloke he can't hang around busy places to explore food to get
These are like the spiders I have picked up and handled and I can see they are usually males. They came out at night and I have kept the cats away from them
By the way, I also have dysdera entering my house and I do not like them at all. But i also free them out into my garden.
They look a bit scarier haha, I think they can nip! They have strong jaws for eating Oniscidea
I reckon so too! Any surprise gives you a shock right, it’s just then it’s another animal haha
The music is over-coming the narrative. I couldn't make out what he said about how much they consume, or what they consume.
Hey ShieldMaiden000! Thanks for the comment I’ll work on that in the future. The statistic was that spiders worldwide consume about 400-800 million tons of prey each year, so are quite the awesome little pest controllers!
Get this lad on telly!
Hey haha! thanks Andrew!
Its spider season I found one of the first ones in my home but I ultimately had to flush it down the drain in the shower bc it's big spooky and my dog does just fine at getting rid of flies and moths I would keep it alive but spoders are just too spoopy
I want to this too, but the spider is so fast
TTIWI 😂 wouldn’t have helped that I suggested a bunch of English spiders, sorry hahaha!
Can I borrow her/him for a day or two.?
I have a fruit fly problem... AGAIN.

@@mattwatkins7333 Thank you Matt, again the kind words mean a lot! I'm just very glad though that you enjoyed my video :) You stay safe too, wishing for the same!
the solution to getting rid of spiders is to get a few house centipedes, they will eat them.
How do you get rid of the centipedes haha, besides spiders are good for you. That’s the whole point of the video 😂
@@ThomasAuldWildlife they'll leave when there is no more food or if they like you they'll just stay in your bathroom
Oh that’s nice, although maybe not the bathroom, too many places to hide in there
Ill stick to flies thanks !!!!!!
No way!!!
I'd never keep a spider in my house..
Hope you don’t have that many flies around then hahaha
Just found one Male on my bed but I realized it like a second Sence XD now decided to bring it to a place it should take care of xD
Great video! I always let house spiders be. I can't stand people who kill out of fear.
Got a house spider in the corner of the bathroom window small but I'll let her live where she's at to help with bugs she gets all you can eat all day long.
I regret watching this vid because now I'm freaking the fuck out
I hope your not freaking out anymore!
Why would you even do that.
Because they’re great!
