Id go with wera. The leverage alone is better. Id imagine it would take some awful abuse and neglect to shed the sleeves off of them? I'd must agree though the ball end is a bit silly it should have a straight shank.

The wera design has a Very Big flay in these, and its that they didn't have in account that usually, those security torx screws, are found in Very Deep screw Wells(look in all your household appliances).I had this problem changing the screen of my Thermomix and an Rowenta iron.

Solution is to get the 90mm security torx and hex sets, you can use a bit ratchet or hex driver or a power driver to use them. I rarely use L-keys anymore. Wera doesn't make a SAE hex set of that type but Wiha does: Wiha 76096

Are you planning on doing an in depth stripping torque test like you did with the hex keys because wera claims their torx design helps prevent stripping.

I think the ball end is just for using the keys with regular torxs.

I have the Wera security torx, and the part I find most amusing is the magnetizing tool in the holder. I guess that is the "holding function" /s

So they both suck. Ones to short and one is missing more then half the security bits. I bought the wera and it’s pretty good. Just wish it had all the tips

Wiha is half the price, No more than I have uses for them, half the price makes a difference, and the ball end on the wera stops me on those. Thank you for the review.

I could not believe it when I purchased the wera ones and the long end had a ball end...

Those security screws are complete nonsense. Since anyone can get get "security" bits or keys at the bargain bin they provide no security, but a lot of inconvenience. Ball endings are rather convenient for long threads but really suck at torque and they don't work with security screws. Normally i prefer bit inserts for an screwdriver or a folding key set. Those L-keys seem to evaporate from my tool box, all sets had one missing within a few weeks and i don't even like working with them. Bit inserts are much more versatile, i can use them in a screw driver, a ratchet and an electric drill.
