Brilliant - been pouring over resolution settings etc with no success. First 30 sec of your video gave me the answer, set my LG TV to "just scan" and now perfect. Thank you so much.
Just want to say thank you, I could not find a video explaining this so simply. My sanyo did not have the aspect setting, and using the HDMI I could not resize it at all. About an hour in to searching and watching videos your auto-played when I came back from taking a break.
Thank you, I knew after searching day night I will stumble on something useful. Yes, you helped me with irritation of over scanned older TV. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to fix this issue. Pretty sure that you saved my life, I think my wife was going to kill me if I complained to her one more time
What if the TV doesn't have ANY of the picture fit options? I'm currently using a Sanyo 55 inch LED tv and I only have picture coloring options, and no screen fit options.
I couldn’t get to any picture fit options either, I ended up doing a factory reset on the tv and plugged into a different hdmi port and it seemed to fix the problem! I think it was probably the factory reset that did the trick, hope this helps.
lol i was at this for days cause the overscan setting on my tv wasn't doing ANYYYTHING. i kept trying to change the resolutions and ignored the intel part, you're the best! haha
You absolute goat! I tried adjusting resolution on my display, aspect ratio on my tv, but it was the Nvidea suggestion, which I completely forgot I even had and it had a sub option inside that I could manually drag around to set the size scale and thank you thank you thank you thank you!
Lmao I was just looking for a video like this a few hours before you uploaded this video... I will still like the video even though you were a couple hours late.
Thanks so much. I was gifted an old tv that didn't have options for overscanning. Tip: you can duplicate screens again after you fix it in nvidia, or at least with the tv as the primary. That's how i have it right now.
Thanks. The fix for a Changhong 43inch Android TV is: go to TV options, Display Mode and select 'Unscaled'. The fix for a CHiQ 43inch Android TV is: go to TV options, Picture, 'Display Mode' and select 'Unscaled'
oh man I was trying to set up an emulator box on a crt and this saved me. i couldnt get things to display at all and then overscaned problems. thank you so much! im a year late but this was the fix!
@@thewarehouse2372 Hey MC Warehouse, want me to try to help you out man? We can do a screenshare or something? (Not remote access but remote view) Or we can work through photos, might take longer but I would help you out if you need it :)
Can a DVR cause overscan? I have two TVs both with DVRs. One is in the front living room and the other in a back room. I was having problems with overscan with the back room TV. I tried the TV picture adjustments and nothing helped. The TV in the living room had a normal picture. I recently switched the TVs. The one that was in my back room is now in the living room. Now the picture looks fine. The TV that was in the living room is now in the back room and it now has the overscan issue. This got me wondering if the DVR for the back room TV is causing the overscan? Does something need adjusting on the DVR? The living room DVR with the good picture is an 'Arris DCX3501-M' The Back room DVR with the overscan is an 'Motorola DCX3501-M'
Found the fix in Theatre Settings under Picture Settings - chose "Native" (Aspect Ratio did nil for me - though its set at Auto Aspect Ratio = On in case someone else runs into this issue on a Toshiba 40E200U1 TV).
2:14 It's so confusing when he said to "tick the enable desktop resizing" box and did the absolutely different on the screen. Moreover I use a language other than English in my Windows, so it has confused me twice as he could. Inconceivable
I've always wondered why this happened when connecting any videogame to my tV even if they were supposed to have the same resolution (fullHD - 1920x1080)... now I just need to figure out why the standard colors and sharpness configurations of my samsung TV are so messey so I have to tweak them a lot...
in need help i have windows 7 laptop with Intel Hd 4600 Graphics and Nvidia 850 M with 46 inch Sony LCD TV I can not adjust screen size in TV settings because it is disabled in HDMI Also my NVidia Control panel had not the option that you show in the video. My intel HD Control panel also have not adjust scaling option Is there any Registery solution or CMD solution or 3rd party software that can do this adjustment for me ?
thanks for this video. helped me think outside the box. what really makes me mad about my situation is with the settings i currently have, everything was running flawlessly. all of a sudden it stops working. my amd super resolution was on (and has been on all my games) and it went to normal after i turned it off.
My tv doesn't have a remote with it and doesn't have a menu button. just the button to change the channels, to change from HDMI to PC etc. and to change volume and turn tv on and off
i'm having a very frustrating problem with my pc on my tv only sometimes do applications cause the image to "jump" into overscan, usually it's fine, but sometimes discord or a video on the xbox game pass application will cause it to become overscanned
My tv is not famous like samsung or others. Low price, bad quality, but a smart tv 4k. If i put the justscan setting, the video is much smaller. What can i do?!
Have you tried updating the Intel graphics control panel to the latest version? www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/intel-graphics-control-panel/9ndlclmmtmrc?rtc=1&activetab=pivot:overviewtab
As if u was scrolling through yt for hours and the settings on my tv and u end up having a digihome like me and realised i had missed the setting so many times 😂😂
Why did you bring up the PS4 when you provide absolutely zero solution to dealing with PS4 overscan? Why are so many "tech gurus" blatantly ignorant to low-end TVs that don't have any adjustable overscan? This is so bogus and lazy. It's basic stuff anyone could figure out browsing a menu. No help at all.
You are my hero. I just got a TV from a friend with no remote, now i can finally use full screen windows on it.
I have been searching for an hour about overscaling using AMD. You solved my problem in about one minute. THANK YOU.

You can use Intel Display Driver. @2:46
@Týr then he should use a pc

Yes! On the TV I have it was in Picture => Aspect Ratio and there was an option "Point to point".

Didnt fix my issue unfortunately. I use a acer sw3-013 and it doesn't have any sliders or custom aspect ratio on the intel hd manager

What option is best, with video card or tv settings?
A GPU will probably do the job better than your TV - more powerful hardware and more advance software behind the scaling!

mine is just cut off. when i use 4:3 ratio i see the side being actually cut off. is this also overscan or another problem?

My problem is that it over scale and over sharps every thing, it makes your eyes cry xddd
