    Music has always been a way for me to express myself, except I can't sing and don't know how to play instruments. That being said, I challenged myself to sing up for singing lessons. I am no Adele, but singing sure helped me let out some emotions I had built up. Warning, you may need to recover after listing to this ;)

      Raised pallete is only useful in choral and operatic settings as a default. Pop requires a more closed sound and some more edge rather than overdrive

    • @Gameworks1407
      @Gameworks1407 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      misukiy Lambertson a raised pallette is instrumental for all music. Not raising the pallette leads to nasality, and vocal damage. All great singers raise there pallettes from Mariah to Whitney to Barbra to even Beyoncé

    I think that's why I believe playing at least one instrument could really help you out with your voice. You get the beat, and basically you'll know how to sync in with it. I am trying to play the guitar and I've noticed that I am more calm and putting in more emotions... compared to listening to an official music video and singing along. I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH

    Nice, you're engaging properly and letting yourself sing even though you're not very skilled yet. That is always the first step, and many beginning singers are very hesitant and hold back a lot because they're nervous and afraid of singing badly, but that impedes learning, but you don't seem to be held back by that kind of nervousness which is 🔥👌

    I don't understand why that vocal instructor focused so much on your rhythmic accuracy rather than your voice. Also, you shouldn't be breathing in your chest, breathe down in your diaphragm (aka your gut) it will help your support so much. Keep up the good work!

    • @mmb4094
      @mmb4094 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      When you breathe don't let your chest rise. Instead, let your stomach and rib cage expand. For some people, it helps them to think that they are breathing from their toes because you are breathing lower than when you normally do. You can put your hands on your stomach to help you feel your stomach expanding. You can also lay on the floor and place a book or something on your stomach to watch the book rise and fall with every breath you take. I hope this helps and that I wasn't too vague.

    • @michaelar2188
      @michaelar2188 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      What really helped me was to sit in a chair and lean over so my c’est was touching my knees. When you breathe in that position, you’re forced to breathe from your stomach. When you know what it feels like, it’s easier to do it without having to be in that weird position :)

    You did a great job and this was so fun to watch! I took voice lessons for 3 terms in college and I loved them so much. My vocal coach was great and he explained things in a way that was so easy to understand and it gave me so much more confidence in my voice. Unfortunately I could only take it 3 terms, otherwise the credits for the 4th and on wouldn't transfer. I was so disappointed that I couldn't take them again, because I've always wanted them. But I did learn a lot in those 3 terms, and my voice has really improved since then. It takes a lot of time and practice but anyone can learn to sing!

      Singing is like working out your voice muscles. All you’ve done is lost practice and in that you’ve lost the ability to control your voice more fully. Training your voice and your musical ear are both important to improve your singing. But don’t forget that singing is more than just technical perfection, sing with your heart and it won’t matter how you sound 😉

    Your hair is exactly what I'm going for on a daily basis lmao. Also you are definitely not a horrible singer. I can do pretty low too so I love low female voices. It's all about practice and and actually REALLY learning all the individual notes. Exactly how she was playing them as you sang the exact same pitches on the keyboard. Your high notes are gonna sound weird until you figure out how to actually move your mouth and everything inside 😂 I've been singing my whole life and my high notes still sound screamy sometimes. I got a ukulele so I could learn songs like you did on the piano. It is so easy to play. You're also definitely better than me when I started so I think you could become really good dude!!

    I doubt that you will ever read this but if you do: thank you. Thank you so so much for posting this video, I think it takes a great deal of courage to put yourself out to the world like that but you were brave enough and that inspires me so much! I pretty much suck at singing, yet I managed to go to a music-centered school without TOO many people noticing what an awful voice I really have. I always thought that everybody could sing (at least a little bit) and that I should be really ashamed of my singing skills but watching your video really made me feel so much better. Again, thank you.

    i don't mean to criticize, but coming from a choral background, it really bugs me that the teacher told her to get into the head voice, but is not singing in her own headvoice when doing the warmups. yes, some people can be loud in their headvoice (a majority of broadway singers) but you can tell when the sound is being forced. if your voice feels as though its coming from the middle of your throat rather than the front of your mouth, you are using your chestvoice. (which is what a majority of artists use in their singing, and it's not bad if you know how to use it, but i have a limit on where mine is, therefore i have to switch into my headvoice in order to sound good) and she should not have started with adele, as that is one of the most difficult artists to cover. just my own personal thoughts :) definetly not bad for just starting out.

    Im not an expert or anything, i just been singing naturally for a long time with no intructions or anything, but try letting air out while releasing your voice
    Lets take a good example like ariana grande, her voice sounds air-y and free, she lets out the perfect amount of air while releasing her voice which makes your voice sound less dry.
    Again, im no expert, just singing for a long time.
    Edit: everyone has a different perfection of air needed in their voice.
    Im not trying to make you feel bad or anything, just trying to help you ♡

    I’m going to be honest, and leave some creative criticism, please get a better vocal instructor, one that can sing from the diaframe instead of singing through her nose, the same with you try to sing through your diafram, because you currently sound really nasally and it actually sounds kind of awful, I’ve been singing for 16 years and I don’t think I would be close to where I am now if I didn’t have the help I have had.
    Keep trying you’ll get better, maybe not the next Adele but maybe close ❤️

    • @IzzyVeloso
      @IzzyVeloso 6 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      As a vocal teacher, I don't think she's singing too nasally, as with high notes especially, you usually need to direct them into your 'mask' to create a brighter tone and to avoid them resonating from your throat and creating tension.
      In my opinion she was probably singing clearly and almost a little too precisely to demonstrate what the notes were to a 'beginner' vocalist.

    • @Annabanana6819

      I don’t think you can judge another vocal coach when you can’t even spell diaphragm* correctly.

    • @Annabanana6819
      @Annabanana6819 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      ALSO. Untrained singers sing nasally all the time. The coach is a little nasally but she also sings clean/on key. So ? I’ve never taken lessons but learned in a choir. & My voice is pretty amazing naturally soooo the vocal coach can’t teach everything. If you’re terrible starting out chances are, you won’t ever be better than average. Which is fine, there are things y’all are good at.

    I’m watching these because, my vocal teacher ask me to switch from learning to sing to learning an instrument which makes me feel i never will be ever learn how to sing. I know my voice sucks a lot but i really wanted to learn how to sing. When i gt back from my last class I’ve been thinking whether do we really could learn singing? Or is it a natural talent that cant be learnt? I’m so sad. Nearly lose my motivation to continue but after seeing this video, her teacher is so encouraging and motivates her to sing which also motivates me. I think I’m gonna resume my vocal class, i think that singing can be learn and not a natural talent. I’m just sad because the way my vocal teacher says like he’s telling me i cant sing so I shouldn’t continue taking vocal class.
